    Does anyone know why Martial didn't get an assist for the first goal? Haven't seen it yet but various match reports say he crossed the ball, defender headed clear to Lingard who scored.

    This should be an assist right?

      Apparently if the ball is headed from inside to outside the box where Lingard was then there is no assist given.

      It's not an assist because of this clause in the rules:

      If an opposing player touches the ball after the final pass before a goal is scored, significantly altering the intended destination of the ball, then no assist is awarded.

      Martial's cross is cleared by the defender in the opposite direction before arriving at Lingard's feet.

      Nope, not an assist.

      If there is a substantial deflection to the ball that's not called as an assist. Martial crossed, the ball ws headed out of the box and Lingard scored. Should definitely not be an assist.

      Payet to free up funds. Then I have to decide which of Vardy, Lukaku and Ighalo to lose. Ighalo would be the obvious answer but it means more of a restructure....

      He could argue that he was saying "just one more goal" .. whoever decided that raising the middle finger would be a curse word really fecked things up. We spent thousands of years building dexterity in our fingers only to make the use of one of them obsolete due to associating it with a curse word 😆

          Pelle to Aguero in gw13/14 for me. Vardy stays. Like Valar, I cashed in on Mahrez in gw9, but he will be my Payet replacement, whether Payet is healthy or not.
