Sneaking in late like John Terry in a triumphant team photo, Granville gatecrashes this week’s ScoutCast after we drafted in Andy85WSM as his able replacement.

Andy tag teams with Jonty and myself as we look back ten days at the long forgotten Gameweek 12, before grappling with another round of posers from the community.

We cast tentative votes on the Aguero debate, assess Lukaku’s armband credentials, check that we really can write off Chelsea and question whether time is up for Sanchez in the light of Ozil’s streak of assists.

After all that, Granville parachutes in and we get a few minutes to gloat over his injury-ravaged squad. A worthy cameo contribution.

This episode of the ScoutCast was recorded and broadcast live on Wednesday evening, published via our YouTube channel.

Hi Captain. Having issues with the spreadsheet right now, and getting the bold to work for my starting 11.

But i've taken a -4 this week. Kane, Ozil and Moreno in for Kolarov, Payet and Martial. Playing Hennessey, and benching Gomes, Souare, Moreno and Ayew

We propose to stand together against the dangerous German aspirations, which are to take advantage of their economic position and takeover the Greek emails, password and FFS accounts.

As we all know, the Greeks are in deep economic crisis and the nasty Germans are willing to use it. We shall show them that we don't accept that kind of behavior.

We, the Slavs, the Polish and the Russian, should stand against the German expansion. I believe you understand my concerns, general! This is my official proposal to create an alliance.

          Yours faithfully

          Captain of Poland

nah take a few hits before the DGW to get maybe 12 or 13 DGWers, then BB and WC the week after to sort your team.

Not really. He's surrounded by a far superior bunch of players. His game will improve immensely. The competition will be better for him. You don't want a young player to become the main man too early in his career or he will stagnate

          1. Davido989
            • 15 Years

Don't disagree with stagnating. I think he'll become a very good player, just a better player had he stayed at Liverpool. Especially with Klopp.

Had Liverpool got Klopp in the off-season that would've changed things I'm sure. IMO that would've been a good enough reason to stay for his development.

I dunno, had he gone as far as he could there? Even if he did get better, he would only end up going to a club like City only a year later. Seems to be working out for him and he's improving week by week.

TBH, as bad as Spurs' transfer policy has been in recent years (I'm no fan, trust me), Liverpool seem to always outdo them. Liverpool squandered the Suarez money in a worse fashion than Spurs did with the Bale money

Firstly, I think this site is great and has an amazing community!

I don't post regularly here and the main reason is the format of posting.

I'm not a fan of it being all in one place. It makes it almost impossible to have good discussions. In particular there are 4 main issues for me.

    1. Comments are almost never related to the (excellent) articles
    2. Comments towards the end of a page are largely ignored
    3. Difficult to have high quality discussions (hot topics help this but they don't remain hot for long)
    4. Almost impossible to have discussion about games other than FPL. For example a sky only forum would make a lot of sense and one I would use reguarly.

This is not necessary a criticism it's just my experience, maybe everyone else thinks the current format is great?

I'm also not suggesting I have the perfect answer but I think more separate discussion areas would be the place to start. For those who prefer general discussion of the main board this could also be kept to a separate "general discussion" section. Discussion within the articles could then be kept related to that article. For example, the community articles are great and offer interesting discussion topics which at kept relevant to that area.

Anyway this is just my 2 cents, I'd be interested to know what others think?

Yeah, therein lies the problem I suppose. You are quite understandably not aware of previous discussions because there is not a single place for them to collect/ruminate.

No doubt Mark and the like appreciate feedback, particularly from a paying member. This has to form the basis of reinvention.

The trick, I guess, is to find that reinvention without losing the existing character that is the heartbeat of this place.

I'm sure any changes will be thought through and come in time. You make reasonable points.

You raise some very valid points and they are things we are hoping to ease - although I don't think there is a silver bullet to solve them all.

We do have a shift to a Comments/Forum hybrid (via HomeCrowd) in the works but, sadly, all effort on the redesign has meant that we've not progressed that work as yet. We are very close to completing the redesign now - we're now just ensuring that the new ticker is ready and then we'll go to test and some of you will be involved in that process.

We're also about to place a job ad for a full-time web development position so that we can hire more help to push things on in the new year once the redesign is live. This will hopefully free Ed up to progress with the changes to HomeCrowd I have planned.

It's been frustrating that we haven't been able to realise some ideas and solutions quicker, but I'm hoping very soon that will change.

        That's great to hear Mark!

As you say there are pros and cons to all formats and this is already a brilliant site. Hopefully those tweeks will make it even better.

Look forward to the new changes!

in the meantime, i think you should get more trigger happy on hot topics, especially when really busy where the site becomes more or less unusable.

Make sure to flag stuff you think should be a hot topic. Doesn't mean it definitely will get made one but it at least notifies us.

it's occasionally extremely obvious where there are questions after questions on exactly the same thing but no hot topic. i've grumbled before about it to no avail. i think on friday/saturday/sunday evenings, you should be creating multiple hot topics to try and relieve the traffic so to speak

    A) Ighalo (MUN)

FPLStatistics.co.uk is the more accurate one.

Payet will most likely drop today (over -100%) and would only survive if FPLStats was slightly off in their calculation (due to wildcards).

Ozil has no chance of rising today IMO

Ighalo (for those that got him at 5.0) is probably the best 8th attacker to have. However now that the forward options are improving it'll be hard to justify keeping him imo

No player is essential. The word is a fallacy. There are only points, and he delivers them on a regular basis.

He got 3 baps vs Tottenham for just a single assist, what does that tell you about his influence? 🙂

"on a reasonably mediocre performances coupled with a lower price tag"

If by that you mean most assists in all of Europe and almost double the number of chances created in the PL vs 2nd place, then yes..mediocre 😉

In his last 6 matches he has scored 5-13-12-5-10-8.

If that's what you call mediocre, then he's the best mediocre performer in the league by miles.
