We call upon some fit-again Fantasy royalty this morning as Man City prepare to welcome Liverpool to the Etihad. Tottenham’s playmaker also earns the nod ahead of four home fixtures in six, whilst Bournemouth supply us with a cut-price out-of-position prospect for our five-man midfields.

Sergio Aguero

With Wilfried Bony ruled out injured, Manuel Pellegrini confirmed on Friday afternoon that Sergio Aguero is set to start against Liverpool later today.

Although his manager also revealed that Aguero won’t get the full 90 minutes, the Argentine marksman is more than capable of delivering explosive returns in limited time, as evidenced when he rattled five past Newcastle United in the span of 20 minutes in his last league appearance.

Across the last three Gameweeks that the 13.0-priced forward featured in, he ranked top among his counterparts for attempts (18), joint-top for shots inside the box (13) and second for shots on target (eight). Illustrating his dominance at the Etihad, Aguero still ranks joint-first among forwards for shots on target (10) at home, while only Graziano Pelle (33) boasts more attempts (24) in front of his own fans.

Having dropped in price to 13.0 in Fantasy Premier League (FPL), Aguero sits in just 11% of sides heading into this morning’s deadline – he’s very unlikely to remain such an effective differential for long.

With four home fixtures (LIV, SOU, sto, SWA, ars, SUN) in the next six, the suitors will be circling as we prepare to welcome back last season’s top scorer to domestic action.

Christian Eriksen

In the wake of his free-kick double against Swansea City in Gameweek 8, Christian Eriksen (8.4) has delivered just one assist in four outings. Attacking returns haven’t been forthcoming of late, but the quality of his performances was undeniable over a stretch that Spurs outscored their opponents by nine goals to three.

Across the last four Gameweeks, Eriksen charted top of Tottenham’s midfield contingent for attempts. In addition, the Danish playmaker has fronted the pack in terms of attempts (15) and shots on target (five) since his return to the starting line-up in Gameweek 7. His productivity on the distribution front has been the most impressive facet of his play: Mesut Ozil (23) was the only midfielder to chalk up more key passes than Eriksen (16) in his last four starts.

Harry Kane’s fine form (five goals in three starts) bodes well for Eriksen’s assist prospects ahead of a home tie against West Ham United. The Irons have claimed some big scalps on their travels this term, but they’ve failed to record a clean sheet in seven matches and place second for shots inside the box conceded (63) away from home.

With four home fixtures in the upcoming six (WHU, CHE, wba, NEW, sou, NOR) Eriksen looks to have the perfect platform to get back amongst the points.

Joshua King

Bournemouth’s recent search for a solution to Callum Wilson’s long-term knee injury has seen manager Eddie Howe talking up the prospects of Joshua King (4.6) over the last week or so.

The Cherries boss tasked King with leading the line in the second half of their Gameweek 11 head-to-head with Southampton, before handing him the reins for Newcastle’s visit in the previous league match. Classified as a midfielder in the Fantasy Premier League, the Norway international’s out-of-position potential on a shoestring budget has piqued our interest.

In his first start at the lone-striker berth, King ranked top of his team for shots inside the box (four) and shots on target (three). A lack of quality service would be an understandable concern in light of the Cherries’ recent impotence, yet the underlying stats paint a positive picture from that perspective, given that only Liverpool amassed more key passes (30) than the south-coast club (27) over the last two Gameweeks.

With many Fantasy managers eschewing their five-man midfield strategy in anticipation of Aguero’s return, King could well serve as the perfect enabler. Although Bournemouth are about to embark on a challenging quartet of match-ups (swa, EVE, che, MUN), King’s nominal price point renders him a relatively risk-free acquisition.

    Butland McCarthy
    Azpi Kolarov Bertrand Francis Richards
    Sanchez KDB Tadic Maherz Westwood
    Pelle Lukaku Vardy
    1 FT, 4.3 itb

    A) Azpi --> Rojo
    B) Azpi + Pelle --> Rojo + Aguero (-4) Have exact money for that.
    C) Save

Repost from yesterday, but benching dilemma still giving me a headache..: Ayew, Mahrez, KDB, Sanchez, Özil, Lukaku, Pelle or Vardy.

Currently on Pelle, but with Stoke at home I'm not really sure. You think it's better to go for one of the mids? Actually been keeping Ayew for this BOU-game, but now he seems like a good candidate for the bench.. Who do you guys think is the right man for the bench? Any opinions appreciated!

I'm assuming all Pelle owners are sticking this week? So tempted to take a hit for Lukaku!

Wouldn't take him out for Lukaku, he'll dissapoint us again. Would only consider if it was for Aguero, but might as well stick one more week.

    Myhill
    Toby, Souare, Moreno
    Sanchez, KDB, Mane, Mahrez, Davis
    Lukaku, Vardy, Ighalo

    Butland, Davis, Kompany, Prodl

    1 FT, 7.5m ITB

Like my front three, but going without Kun (when fit) is risky. What's my best option ?

    A) Ighalo and Prodl > Kun and Wollscheid (next week)
    B) Prodl to a premium defender this week and Vardy to Kun (next week)
    C) Prodl to a premium defender this week and Lukaku to Kun (next week)
    D) Keep my current front 3, and use the 7.5 to upgrade elsewhere.

Was planning A, but Ighalo is in form and has good fixtures, and bring in a premium defender defender would boost my points potential this week (currently playing Moreno away to City).

Luka(c)u for me. I think Kane is possibly the best though but I couldn't afford him and prefer my new recruit Lukaku for the short term fixtures. My gut feeling though is that Sanchez will be stepping off the summit of my goals imminent table in style - but I daren't risk that captain due to his obvious fatigue.

Have Kane (c) meself, hoping good form keeps up! Couldn't risk Sanchez either, held fire on aguero - nervous moments! Liverpool fan as well so I'm dreading his return for two reasons, hoping next two fixtures he eases in an doesn't explode.

Liverpool defence has been decent since klopp, but lovren is a liability!! Not too hopeful of low score today, just praying if aguero on end of stuff it's De Bruyne providing the ammunition.

Could do pelle to aguero and sako from.palace to a 4.3m next week. Leaving:

Vardy, aguero, Kane, cabaye, mahrez, Sanchez, De bruyne (4.4m) front 8 - kolarov, Moreno, van dijk main defence n butland n myhill in sticks

Vardy because he is going to be doing all he can to score today.
And he has mahrez to supply the bullets.
      And they're playing Newcastle.

      Vardy:
      1. He is confirmed fit.
      2. Whole team works for him.
      3. On pens.
      4. Can break the almighty record.
      5. Plays against leaky Newcastle.
      6. Leicester is a hurricane right now.

I'd rather have manager's word on it than Vardy's own. Ranieri seemed much more doubtful.

Ah nuts to it, I'm sticking with Vardy. Had it on him for 2 weeks, would be too annoyed if a switch failed now. Think if I had Kane I'd go for him though - best option this week I reckon.

According to Pellegrino he will start, because Bony is not available. However, he also mentioned that Aguero most likely will not finish the game, so there is a risk of an early sub.

havent cap vardy so far, but the week i want to he may/may not start. sure he will tell manager hes fit even if he isnt, even if he got half hour in him, still gives him chance of equalling record, which he wont if he rules himself out.
      mahrez better option if vardy out{back on pens}
but got a feelin about sanchez, so thinkkit will be him, due good return soon,, but how much gametime will he get ?

    16. Stat Sloth

      Lukaker.

Mostly coz Vardy is not a safe starter this GW, Sanchez prob have fatigue issues, and if Aguero starts KDB is not the frontline runner anymore. At the same time, if Vardy doesn't play, we have no idea how Mahrez will cope with a new striker. No faith in Saints attackers.

Don't have Kane, Aggy or Barkley.

Who to get if you have Deulofeu & Sánchez ?

    A- Giroooooud

      C. Giroud/Wally rotation could potentially start in 2-3 weeks. Ideally Kane + Lukaku would be best.
