It’s time to turn up the heat on Granville. After Harry Kane obliged with a 26-point armband return, I’ve clawed back the gap on my mancunian rival, who now sits just three points ahead in our “very personal” battle.

With the flame lit on our age-old duel, the ScoutCast is revived to resemble the days gone by, with Granville wriggling uncomfortably as we spar throughout. Jonty is on hand to mediate, taking a few blows of his own, with Granville lashing out blindly.

Around the melee, we take in another round of “rough with the smooth” and digest a slew of community questions. We chat Aguero Vs Kane, consider the merits of showing Sanchez and De Bruyne the door, and scribe our Christmas Fantasy Football wishlist.

This episode was first aired via our YouTube channel on Tuesday evening. You can view the unedited Google Hangout in the larger player below, or treat yourself to the buffed-up audio version via this link or the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Who's waiting on Aguero?
I think I'm going to wait a couple of GWs til he's fit.
Kane in the meantime. If Kane, Lukaku, Vardy continue to fire, it'll be hard to justify Aguero.

Personally , I don't like DDG at all

At least last season DDG was getting a lot of saves but this season ? Not so much...much rather have Rojo who has Bonus Points Potential . Also , I would prefer Hennesey over Darlow because -

          1.Darlow is not nailed
2.CPL and STO have a perfect Home/Away Rotation

Yeah I'm pleased to say we've been very good, the issue is that, unlike Lukaku, attacks can bypass Barkley from an FPL perspective (as we saw against Sunderland - 6 goals and no involvement).

            10 years, 3 months ago

Well I also have Moreno, Alde and Bellerin. My thinking is GW17 onwards for WBA, which is also when Bellerin's fixtures turn. I could just do Bellerin to Dawson then I suppose.

                10 years, 3 months ago

The problem is that I'm not sure where to boost. Coutinho is the only midfielder I can see that's better than Lanzini/Barkley, and he'd still be out of reach. Rest of my team (ignoring slots above):

                Alde/Moreno/Nyom
                Sanchez/Ozil/Mahrez/Gosling
                Aguero/Kane/Lukaku

Not sure what I'd do with the money.

    Morning gents πŸ™‚

I've been moved (Doolittle style) in next door to a temporary office for a few weeks, surrounded by my team now, so my activity on here will be extremely minimal.. πŸ™

    Having said that...

Sanchez to Coutinho for free? Double up on Liverpool mids till I wildcard in about a fortnight?

They have some pretty nice fixtures πŸ™‚

Getting extremely fed up of Sanchez for his price, couldn't care less about his fixtures or his European goals, he's just too expensive for only returning in 3 games all season, and Kun/Kane is coming soon...

Would much rather have double Arsenal mids than Liverpool. Sanchez was also very good against West Brom, would definitely keep

I'd lean the opposite way where Sanchez doesn't convince me for 11.5m but Coutinho looks a steal at 8.5m πŸ˜›

The stats tell a story more in tune with your thoughts, but I can't shake this feeling that I'm getting shafted with Sanchez.

If Klopp says he's 100% fit and definitely playing then maybe. But someone has said that Klopp is notorious for not playing anyone who is even the slightest bit unfit, presumably on account of the giggitypressing.

Cool, I'll keep an ear out in the presesrs then, but Klopp doesn't seem to be saying much about Cout.. We shall see.

Sanchez has amazing fixtures, but so does Coutinho and he's so much cheaper..
Allows Vardy -> Kane if needed too.

The core of my team is:
    3 Arsenal
    3 Man City
    3 Leicester
    (Stoke/Swans/Pool/AV/Everton)

I know we talk a lot about 'coverage' on here but does anyone feel 2 of any team is enough as if a result does go pear shaped it's highly likely you are looking at a drop in rank,
Compounded if say Leicester/Arsenal were to lose and not score this week is be in real trouble,

What are players thoughts on 'overloading' or do guys really even factor it in?

    1. Irish Madridista ⭐
      • 15 Years

I do it, it leads to some very disappointing weeks, especially when City / Arsenal blank and you've loaded up on them, but it can also lead to some amazing weeks, I think it works out for the best providing you pick the right players from those teams.

    2. pompeyfan
      • 16 Years

I don't really worry about overloading if the team has good fixtures. But when the fixtures turn I would likely lose 1 or even 2 from a team.

I feel like coverage is a bit of a cloud castle. As in, it shouldn't be a goal in itself. It should be an indirect effect of dipping into the cheaper options, who often aren't on the most expensive teams. With the added bonus of increasing the BP potential. And having guys in more TV games

    4. FPL Emu
      • 15 Years

One result going badly means nothing; that's always going to be the consequence of having more from the same team (high variance). The problem is when form is lost, and you may have to make many transfers to accomodate. For example, doubling up on Chelsea defence at the beginning of the season would have taken some work to fix

the retailers do it because they do very well out of it. They trick customers into buying things they don't really need because the prices look like you can't afford not to buy them. But in the end they win.

To transfer Pelle hit-free leaves me with 8.4m so no Lukaku or Kane for me.

For a two week punt Benteke interests me, with Sturridge and Coutinho doubts surely he'll start this week and done his chances no harm with the goal last night?

I've got this nagging Igahlo doubt though after watching the Scoutcast. And Villa, Norwich, Sunderland is very tasty...

Just what I'm thinking. And would need to sell Mata or Kolarov for a -4 to get Lukaku or Kane. Just know it will bite me!

Tekkers + Aguero gives me two differentials over my rival who is now 45 or so ahead.. And he's used all his chips and has Sagna, Kolarov and Kompany to deal with!

Benteke is a fine punt, but if I were you, I would much rather do something like Sterling -> Coutinho and Pelle -> Lukaku, granted Coutinho is fit.
