A trio of new protagonists toppled off the Suspension Tightrope over the weekend’s ten fixtures. Palace wide man Wilfried Zaha, West Brom midfielder Claudio Yacob and Villa defender Ciaran Clark were the guilty parties, with all three set to miss Gameweek 15 as their clubs do not have midweek Capital One Cup fixtures to bail them out.

Zaha was booked for simulation just three minutes before scoring his first goal since the opening day of the season – he now misses the upcoming trip to Everton a week tomorrow. Yacob earned an 81st-minute yellow during the Baggies’ draw at West Ham, whilst Clark finally succumbed to the high wire with a fifth booking, more than two months after collecting a fourth yellow card in the Capital One Cup third round. The Villa centre-half was the second player in the top-flight to reach four cautions but had been hampered by fitness and selection issues ever since. He’s been named in all three of Remi Garde’s starting XIs, though, and will now miss the upcoming visit to Southampton.

Ryan Shawcross also received a one-match ban. The Stoke skipper collected two yellows in a five-minute spell either side of half-time for fouls on Steven Fletcher and Duncan Watmore as Mark Hughes’ men fell to a 2-0 defeat at Sunderland. He’ll miss the Capital One Cup Quarter Final against Sheffield Wednesday in midweek but will be available for next week’s tough home encounter with Man City.

Post-match, Hughes slammed the decision to send his captain packing as Stoke lost for just the second time since Gameweek 5:

“I think the referee didn’t show any common sense really and should have given Ryan the benefit of the doubt. Ryan feels he got a nick on the ball before the lads gone down so I’m disappointed from that point of view. The referee, on the day, didn’t perform as I’ve seen him perform before; unfortunately he got the awarding of the free kick that led to their first goal wrong as well. Those are the key moments in the game that change it and unfortunately they were negative for us.

Elsewhere in the same match, Erik Pieters joined Alex Tettey at the top of the Tightrope charts with his sixth booking – no Premier League player has more this season.

There were five new additions to this week’s Tightrope. Bournemouth’s Dan Gosling joined team-mate Matt Ritchie to double the number of Cherries on the wire. Stoke’s Charlie Adam picking up a fourth yellow for a crunching challenge on Lee Cattermole at the Stadium of Light, whilst Watford midfielder Etienne Capoue also saw yellow in yesterday’s fixtures.

Spurs defensive duo Jan Vertonghen and Kyle Walker joined them today, meaning that 18 players now sit just one caution shy of a single-match suspension. Mauricio Pochettino’s men have now received 33 bookings in the league this season – that’s more than any other side, with Liverpool (32) and West Brom (30) next in line. In the case of the first two in particular, their penchant for pressing opponents is clearly incurring the referees’ wrath.

Seven players will return from bans in time for Gameweek 15. Graziano Pelle, Lucas, Jonjo Shelvey, Chris Brunt, Robert Huth, Mark Noble and Dele Alli are available once again after falling off last week’s Tightrope, whilst James Collins comes back into contention for West Ham, having sat out a three-match ban.

Some quotes from KDB this week, says he cannot wait to team up with Silva for a sustained period – they have only been on the pitch together for 159 minutes.

De Bruyne has started 15 of City's last 16 games, an the return of Silva would make it possible for him to be rested – not that he is too interested in that!

“I’m fine now but I know last year I just missed one game out of all of them,” he said.

“I know that the squad is bigger and with the injuries it's more difficult, but when everybody is back there’s going to be more rotation until the end of the season so I will be a little bit more fresh than before.”

Silva said this week he is looking forward to playing with de Bruyne, ad the feeling is mutual. The Belgian said: “We didn't play that much together, maybe twice, and so it's really difficult for both of us - but he’s such a great player that its easy to play together with him.

“Everybody has his own style so I think we play almost at the same position but we are very different players. It's better to have different players who play together than to have all the same.

“I'm more direct than him, he can keep the ball a little bit more than me so to have the two together is an advantage. We can switch different things.”

City fans are calling for it, Pellegrini has the options to give him a breather. Navas, Sterling and Silva could be the attacking trio, with KDB rested. Could go either way

It could work out well. I wouldn't hope for many attacking returns though, he's been playing deeper recently. Clean sheets may be an option although a Norwich team which went to the bridge to defend and Maccabi are not good pointers.

The flair picks like Aguero, Sanchez, Hazard have not regularly returned FPL points much in this season.

By the trend, someone likes Barkley, who did well this week, is usually the one who will do well next week.

Diva what's the story with the FIFFSA Score Centre?

I have the score on Ireland v Italy as 330-312 but its well different in that sheet.

The sheet isn't updating for some reason. I've done what I can but my knowledge is limited when it comes to Google Doc spreadsheets. I've asked Balders, the spreadsheet wizard, to look at it, but he's not around today. Sorry for the delay.

    New plan....

No more transfers that involve my gut... Sold KDB this week... Right as I said this:

Looking at bad transfers, drafted koscielney and Kane, moved Kane week 6 and Kosc week 8....

Kosc scored 32 in the three weeks following, his replacement Dier got suspended the first match (a blank)

That was apparently the appetizer, Kane scored 55 in the 7 games since I sold him

I'm a glutton for punishment, so I also went and sold Marez week 11, 26 pts in 3 weeks

113 pts... Sometimes the best transfer is the one not done

Sold Kosc for injury, Kane for form and Mahrez for fixtures in case anyone is wondering

Nonetheless, we'll forget about this one and come back swinging next week.

In the past I use to worry when my team didn't carry many of scout picks

this season the total opposite, more happy when i don't have too many of them

no criticism of scout, just a tough season to call

It's actually a common joke on here. The more picks you have the worse off you'll be.

        Yeah, such a bizzare season.

hopefully there will be a regression to the mean, at some point,

or will they regress to the mean next season?

Can't say the same for the player picks, I've been burned by ignoring the popular bandwagons this year

Would you play your all out attack with this front 8

    (Bellerin, VVD)
    Ozil, Hazard, Barkley, Mahrez, KDB
    Kane, Vardy, Lukaku

    Bench - Rojo, Wolly, 4.0
