Granville was expected to miss this week’s Scoutcast. Flagged as a 25% doubt, we drafted in Andy off the bench in preparation for our resident Mancunian to go AWOL as he wallowed in the misery of his 30-point Gameweek.

To his great credit, he proved us wrong.

Granville crashes in from the off to join Andy, Jonty and myself in another episode that he describes as “cathartic experience”, as he rolls out the full directors cut of his woeful tale from Gameweek 15.

Spouting such gems as “someone has to be unlucky and it has to be me”, Granville adds an essential ingredient to a packed and lively session.

It’s helped along by Jonty’s endorsement of “playing the percentages”, roughly translated as the “Dullard’s methodology 101”, which has the four of us at loggerheads.

Once the dust settles on that debate, we tackle further questions from the community, featuring Jonty’s latest love letter to Aaron Ramsey, before rounding off with our preview of Gameweek 16.

This episode of the Scoutcast was first aired live via our YouTube channel. To view that full broadcast you can click on the player below.

If you prefer the slightly buffed up audio flavor, you’ll need this link or the smaller player.

Don’t forget to subscribe to our YouTube channel for updates on new episodes.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Any chances Everton will tighten up?

Too expensive to have and Everton have been conceding regularly ever since Martinez took over

No CS potential this year, lots of attacking potential, I owned Coleman for a few weeks and it was great.

Jags is expected back soon but by then the fixtures turn. If Baines gets Fk's he might be worth a punt but without the fixtures I'd say he's too expensive. I'd avoid both.

I had a look back at their 14/15 stats a few weeks back, expecting Baines to come back in at the start of their good run (he didn't, bah)

Baines passing and crossing stats were light years ahead of Coleman's.

Yes, Baines no longer has PK and FK (well, we'll see about the latter) but on non-set-piece stats alone I think he's well worth the extra few quid over Coleman IMHO.

Soon as he's back, I'm 'avin him

I think you have to choose. If City aren't firing then it's a lot of budget tied up without too much in the way of returns - and if they are then it's likely to be Aguero who gets the lion's share of the points.

Ah but Kun isn't back yet, and it's an easy swap when he is.

No need for the funds anywhere else at the moment, and I'd rather double up on City than get Hazard in!

Easy swap if you have 2 transfers, I guess. It's not a bad strategy this week, granted. But it is a short-term one at best.

Some of the usual suspects odds to score in 90, from the bookies (Sky) :

    Aguero 1.44
    Kane 1.53
    Giroud 1.83
    Lukaku 2.38
    Vardy 2.50
    KDB 2.63
    Ighalo 2.75

I swear i remember the Christmas Schedule being a lot more hectic.. No UCL games or Europa games or FA cup games. GWs starting 12, 19th, 26th and 2nd January ie a week apart with just one GW ie GW 19 on 28th December which looks like it'll cause problems. That being said with the UCL/FA cup games/internationals being played midweek the past few weeks you could say November was more hectic for the EPL players. A little rotation GW 19 looks the worst that could happen and even that looks unlikely tbh

The DJ and alot of the staff there are fans of the scoutcast. I have no connections with Yorkshire though.

Lots of chat about Leeds United before usually. Bad times for Leeds fans, good time to be in the football media in Yorkshire though I expect, always stories coming from Elland Road.

I suppose FPL would be their only opportunity to talk about the PL in Yorkshire

Good morning all - Having just recovered from wednesday's hangover the time has come to ask for your oppinions : D ! Thanks all the help

    Butland - (McCarthy)
    Kolarov - Moreno - Wollscheid - (Zouma - Richards)
    KDB - Ozil - Mahrez - Mane - (Wanyama)
    Kane - Lukaku - Vardy
    1FT 4.6 ITB

    A) Mane + Targett > Theo + Toby (-4)
    B) Mane + Targett > Walcott + Toby (-4)
    C) Mane + Targett> Sterling + Toby (-4)
    D) Mane + Target > Silva + Toby (-4)

Is it worth taking a hit to set up the team for christmas hectic period or favour one of the two transfers?
    Captain
    1.Kane Vs 2.Lukaku

[On Giroud] - you should look at his record, he has special qualities. You want him to be efficient but where he's improved is his link play with others which is important for our team.

Tempted to bring him in....plus he's first in line for taking penalties

Post match he said that giroud was no 1
I think Walcott and Ramsey were at no 2 & 3

You may just count Arteta as out on the basis of bring completely shite.

So few people rate him its crazy - He has the off games like last year Monaco home which was an absolute shocker but then he s so technical for such a big guy - only us arsenal value him (not all of us)

Dawson and Francis probably will not do anything this week so since Smalling a doubt then AOA a good idea instead of benching Barkley/Vardy?

Looking at the captain poll for inspiration and for the first time I own the top 5 players..

The Guardian podcast yesterday made a valid point about how NOR have really shut up shop since the hammering at NEW and they have only conceded something like 3 goals in the next 6 games..

Kane rested last night combined with the above is valid enough reason to go with Kane (c) right???

    Gomes
    Souaré Smalling Bertrand
    Mahrez Ozil KDB Barkley
    Kane(c) Vardy Lukaku(vc)

Subs: Hennessey, Firmino , Simpson, Browning

    1FT - 3.2 ITB

    Good to bank FT?

I benched Mahrez last week, cost me my 20 point lead in few mini-leagues, worried that Barkley will do the same to me if I bench him.

Around 6-7 pm should be good timing as I don't like making managerial decisions late on Friday night out :-), or even worse, on Saturday morning 🙂

Cheers to that! In that case, I'd put the trigger for Cout now if I were you. Reasons:

              1. Only 30 mins midweek so combat tested after the injury and G2G (Rambo played full 90 mins)
              2. The only MF with creative thinking in Liverpool
              3. Free shooter (not discussing the hit rate though 🙂 )
              4. 4 goals and assist in the last three games in PL

Hope this is enough. I convinced myself as well 🙂
