Our Saturday morning regular brings a couple of Arsenal and Man City midfielders onto our radars ahead of favourable Gameweek 16 encounters. Stokeโ€™s former Barcelona frontman is also under analysis after Mark Hughesโ€™ tactical tinkering helped the Potters overcome City last time around.

Theo Walcott

Having been sidelined for five matches with a calf injury, Theo Walcott (8.3) earned a 27-minute cameo last Gameweek against Sunderland, before being thrust back into the starting XI for Arsenalโ€™s 3-0 victory over Olympiacos. Although Olivier Giroud has locked down the lone-striker berth with his recent form (five goals in seven league ties), injuries to Alexis Sanchez and Santi Cazorla (shifting Aaron Ramsey centrally) have diminished the Gunnersโ€™ depth on the flanks โ€“ augmenting Walcottโ€™s starting potential.

Even in the event that the Southampton academy product is eased back into contention with another substitute outing, his searing pace against fatigued legs always renders him a threat in the dying embers. Moreover โ€“ for all his injury travails โ€“ Walcott is remarkably efficient with the pitch time he is afforded, as evidenced by the fact heโ€™s produced a goal or an assist (43 goals, 40 assists) once every 102.9 minutes since the start of the 2010/11 campaign.

In spite of Arsenalโ€™s depleted squad, Walcott will slot back into a side that fashioned three more big chances (13) than the rest of the field over the last four Gameweeks. Additionally, Arsene Wengerโ€™s troops rank second for goals (16) and top for shots on target (44) in road clashes, which bodes well for their attacking potential against an Aston Villa team that recorded just one clean sheet in their previous 14 match-ups.

Raheem Sterling

Raheem Sterling (8.9) steered Manchester City to victory over Borussia Monchengladbach on Tuesday with a three-minute brace, reaffirming his viability as a mid-priced alternative to Kevin De Bruyne. Although the latter serves as the prime route into the Sky Blues midfield based on current form, De Bruyneโ€™s recent paucity of goal threat (two attempts in four outings) widens the scope for Sterling to creep into contention if he can build upon a eye-catching display in the Champions League.

Over the last four Gameweeks, the former Liverpool starlet charts top among Man Cityโ€™s roster for attempts (10) and shots inside the box (seven) and joint-top for shots on target (three). This is not just a recent trend either: across the entirety of the campaign, Sterling places second (30) โ€“ behind Yaya Toure (38) โ€“ for attempts, first for shots inside the box (23) and first for shots on target (13). Furthermore, heโ€™s amassed 54 more penalty-box touches (89 compared to 35) than De Bruyne, which suggests heโ€™s more inclined to drift into dangerous areas.

There will be a determination among the Man City camp to avenge their 2-0 loss at the hands of Stoke City and turn out a potent display at home to Swansea City. Aside from the fact that the Swans are without a manager and tasted victory just once in the last 11 Gameweeks, the Sky Blues will draw encouragement from their table-topping haul of goals (23), attempts (150), big chances (26) and shots on target (59) in home fixtures ahead of this afternoonโ€™s showdown.

Bojan Krkic

In the wake off five league ties that harvested just two goals, Mark Hughes elected to reshuffle Stoke Cityโ€™s attacking quartet for their home tie against Man City, fielding Ibrahim Afellay at the number ten slot and pushing Bojan Krkic (5.1) up to the lone striker berth. That tactical shift ultimately brought about a 2-0 win and the Pottersโ€™ most impressive performance of the campaign, with the incisiveness of their fluid attack causing all manner of problems for the Cityโ€™s disorganised rearguard.

Although Bojan managed just a solitary attempt last weekend, the proficiency of Stokeโ€™s team play bodes well for his Fantasy prospects ahead of an easier pair of match-ups (why, CRY). Notwithstanding the calibre of their opposition, Mark Hughesโ€™ men carded the joint-most big chances (four) in the previous Gameweek, so theyโ€™ll be relishing the opportunity to face off against a Hammers defence thatโ€™s managed one clean sheet in ten and is without the qualities and leadership of Winston Reid.

Bojan faces stern competition from Troy Deeney (5.2) in the budget-forward bracket, yet Watfordโ€™s schedule beyond a trip to Sunderland this weekend (LIV, che, TOT, MCI) throws up serious question marks regarding his long-term prospects. Now that the Spaniard’s allure isn’t restricted by a deep-lying berth, the stage is set for Bojan to stake a claim as the next budget frontman to come under consideration.

Yeah I think benching Hazard would be your best bet. But remember that Leicester's aim is to score more than the opponent, a clean sheet is not that important to them...

Despite the accepted logic being to save the triple captain chip for a double GW, if you can get lucky and play it when your skipper gets a 15 point haul in a regular GW , then that is a decent advantage. Puts pressure on your rivals too. The big question is when that 15 pointer is most likely, i agree that Kane is a decent shout but the Mags play well when they re on tv. Good luck!

Is Scott Dann this seasons biggest troll?

6 and 10 pts against MUN and liv triggers many transfers in ahead of the two easiest fixtures of the season (SUN and NEW). He is himself to blame for the two conceded goals in these games, finishing with a point total of three. Many owners turned to the bench ahead of Everton at Goodison where he pops up with a goal and 9 pts.

Frustration has a name, and it be Scotty Dann.

Kane does look somewhat irresistable at the moment with the fixtures ahead but I'm still struggling with ditching Vardy and all the credit I've accrued.
Problem with the other spurs players is that the points will be spread around (e.g. just as likely that Dier, Eriksen, Aberweild, Lamela or Alli chips in with goals/assists).

    Is Vardy to Kane madness?

Obviously he's been amazing and Leicester will continue to play positive football with him and Mahrez as the main beneficiaries.
Just can't help looking at the fixtures and worrying

    Leicester
    > Home to an improving (but certainly not defensively infallible) Chelsea
    > Away to Everton who are rocking it at Goodison park (but again concede goals)
    > Away to Liverpool who are also returning to form
    > Home to City

    Spurs
    > Home to Newcastle who could easily cave
    > Away to Southampton who seem out of sorts
    > Home to Norwich again should be a goal-fest
    > Away to Watford who are actually tighter than most but could be over-run

On paper you have to say Kane's chances of getting some decent hauls are better than Vardy's.
You also feel that at some point Leicester have to drop off and the established order of things will remain.

All of which suggests to the head that Vardy to Kane is a solid move.
However the heart is struggling currently and with a massive 0.7 loss in prospect the wallet isn't too chipper either.

    A) Do it
    B) Leave it

Home to Gillingham. Should be there too. Barring being too hung over to drive.

Start Cédric CRY (A) or Cathcart SUN (A)?

The safe move would be Toby Fuml, but Rose can be such fun to own-I still think he can outscore Toby long term.

Cheers mate. I'm kicking myself for missing Toby's price rise last night. As you said, he is the safer option. I like Rose for his attacking potential and the funds saved.
        Might just flip a coin!

Mane to Sterling might just be worth a hit right?

No city cover otherwise, or keep mane?

    Bench and captain? repost

    Coutinho Mahrez Silva Ozil Barkley
    Kane Lukaku Ighalo

Now im leaning towards bench Ighalo, captain Silva

Can't see much sense in a Silva captaincy.
Champions League week, Swansea players liberated by new stand in coach.
      Kane or Lukaku surely.

RE: Ighalo, it depends how tight you think Sunderland are on the road - this will be a big game for Allardyce, but I'm not sure they'll be able to shut up shop against Deeney/Agahlo.

If there was ever a game for chelsea to explode, why not against the #1 team. Hazard looking better lately and on pens. Barkley on some SP, but his points have been very lucky. Frankly, he's not that good.

But Barkley? I really don't like him at all. Only bought him to make a profit on England bandwagoners.

DDG / Butland (which one to play?)
    Aldy Moreno Ake (simpson, Dawson)
    Cout KDB Deulofeu Mahrez Ozil
    Vardy Ighalo (Aguero)

1 FT - should I ship aguero or save?

Only concern is would I miss out on better attacking points from the likes of Lukaku / Kane?

I'd ship mate, I certainly reckon Lukaku alone is 'essential' right now. And you don't own.

Ship 100%. Seriously why would you be holding on to Aguero when he's not playing for at least 2 matches, will even then be likely eased in and be vulnerable to ANOTHER reoccurence of an injury?

Meanwhile Kane and Lukaku are in form against weak opposition.
It's not as though you'll have any credit in Aguero so you can transfer him back in in a few weeks.

Walker over rose b/c he's .01 cheaper and less injury/rotation prone.
