I've always been a fan of a clear 5th mid choice in the 4.5m region as that means no benching headache and rarely leaves any big scores on the bench while still giving cover for surprise benchings and/or injuries. Loved owning Boyd last season for example, and BOU mids are looking great option right now.

However, with the tight Christmas schedule coming up and money floating around (107.7 TV not exactly any helpful atm), I am now considering a double switch from Hazard & Westwood to Wijnaldum & Bolasie. This double switch would actually free up enough funds for a Kane -> Kun direct swap whenever needed aswell as KDB -> Sanchez with nearly a mil margin to go on. I really want Wijnaldum for the next two, however he is hopeless away, and therefore (in theory) rotates well with Bolasie. Though this goes against all of my principles for team balance and 5th mids.

It would hopefully leave me with this team in a week or two:

Butland - McCarthy-
Bellerin - van Dijk - Dann - Dawson - Moreno
Sanchez - Ozil - Wijnaldum - Mahrez - Bolasie
Aguero - Lukaku - Vardy

If anyone actually reads this, I would love a response or two. Yay/nay?

  Both Wijn and Bolasie are good options.. But wouldn't plan a H/A rotation with Palace assets because they perform better away from home

    Yeah, good point. Generally got bad experience with rotating attacking players so it will most likely end in disaster either way.
    
    Although the main reason I want to get myself into this mess again is that I expect my benched mid to come into play GW18 and/or GW19, possibly GW20 aswell. If I choose to get Aguero for SUN just for captaincy then I'd want a solid 5th mid to cover his inevitable rest in GW19 aswell.

    Very soft plans as of now. Thing is with these two moves I leave myself with enough cash to bring him in straight away should I want to. And even if I choose to leave Aguero out through Christmas they look solid moves to me.

    How are you dealing with the benching headaches, though? Pretty sure I would have benched Mahrez at some point for one of his hauls if I had a solid eight all these weeks.
    
    Seems silly to get a BOU mid and leave myself with 3.0 ITB even AFTER the potential Aguero move next week when I could get Bolasie instead, though. Especially with the tight schedule.

  I opted for Watson a few weeks ago as my cheap mid to save fund, I don't think there was a 4.2 at that point and I didn't even know about Stanislas until he started notching goals.
  
  Shame since I ended up playing Watson this week!

  Didn't look too bad. Got a rough tackle from Vardy and went off. Then briefly came back on to try it out and then stormed down the tunnel. Some said he went off because he didn't want to be there, but with the score at 0-0 and all to play for, I don't really see the logic there.

  Vardy gave Hazard a knee to the hip running alongside him. Didn't look that much, and Vardy was upset at the rolling around. However Mourinho made a big point about Hazard being injured. "If he says he can't play on, obviously it must be something important". It was almost like he was saying "you better not be faking this boy".

I've taken 6 hits so far this season. 4 of them for defenders.

They all paid dividends within 2 gameweeks.

Conclusion: it's easier to make hits pay off when your team's in a dire state.
