Alexis Sanchez has a slight chance of returning for Arsenal’s clash with City. Andy Carroll is likely to miss West Ham’s trip to Swansea, whilst Graziano Pelle has fully recovered from a knee problem as Southampton welcome Spurs to St Mary’s.

Arsene Wenger reckons that Alexis Sanchez has “a slight chance” of recovering from a hamstring problem in time for Arsenal’s clash with City on Monday evening.

Everton midfielder James McCarthy will be assessed ahead of the meeting with Leicester, having missed the Toffees’ recent outings due to a groin injury. Roberto Martinez has also suggested that Phil Jagielka “may be back before the end of the year”.

Remi Garde has revealed that Micah Richards, who has been struggling with a knee injury, is unlikely to be fit and available for the trip to St James Park. Elsewhere, Gary Gardner has emerged as a doubt after picking up a knee injury.

Graziano Pelle is back in contention for Southampton’s home clash against Spurs, with Ronald Koeman suggesting that the forward is fully fit and expected to return to the starting XI. The weekend will come too soon for Maarten Stekelenburg, though, with Paulo Gazzaniga set to continue between the sticks.

Norwich’s Andre Wisdom has been ruled out with the hamstring injury that forced him off last weekend. Matt Jarvis is nearing a festive return but this weekend comes too soon for the on-loan winger.

Andy Carroll is very unlikely to make West Ham’s trip to Swansea due to a minor groin problem, Slaven Bilic has revealed.

Quique Sanchez Flores reckons both Valon Behrami and Sebastian Prodl “should be ready” to face Liverpool on Sunday. The Watford boss also revealed he plans to rotate his squad over the festive period to cope with the busy schedule.

Leicester have suffered an injury blow with Ghanaian international Jeffrey Schlupp set to be sidelined for up to six weeks after suffering a hamstring injury. Danny Drinkwater has also been ruled out by Claudio Ranieri, after being forced off early with a similar complaint against Chelsea. Robert Huth sits out the trip to Everton due to suspension.

Alan Pardew has confirmed that Crystal Palace have no new injuries ahead of the visit to Stoke. Joe Ledley is fit again and returns to the squad, though Mile Jedinak remains doubtful with an ankle complaint.

Josh King has trained all week for Bournemouth and recovered from the hamstring problem that forced him off against United last weekend. Marc Pugh has stepped up his sharpness with a full week of first-team training, Christian Atsu has trained “a couple of times”, whilst Lee Tomlin has yet to return to full fitness.

Claudio Yacob is still unavailable for West Brom’s clash with Bournemouth. The midfielder remains in Argentina, having flown home due to a family bereavement. Tony Pulis is optimistic that Stephane Sessegnon will be fit enough for the bench as he recovers from a hamstring injury.

Seb Coates has emerged as a doubt for the Black Cats’ trip to Stamford Bridge with illness, though Younes Kaboul has recovered from a virus. Seb Larsson and Lee Cattermole remain sidelined.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of tomorrow’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Juande Ramos may be a better fit at Swansea than Chelsea. Would be a good appointment for the Swans.

This is where Leicester start sliding down the table: Huth, Schlupp and (most importantly) Drinkwater are out.
We will see whether the Leicester squad has strength in depth.
Drinkwater & Co. do a lot of hard work to set things up for Vardy and Mahrez.

I think Ranieri might have a bad Christmas. The fixture list always catches up with the smaller teams who do not have a strong bench.

    Kane causing me a headache.

I can't see him outscoring Ighalo, and yet he's over 3 mill, more and I certainly can't see him outscoring Aguero if and when he comes good. He's a real odd ball pick, or at least it feels that way right now..

He's just an expensive Ighalo...at best.

Gus Hiddink is the prime candidate for CHE according to a few sources it seems. One of them is Mateja Kezman who said for the croatian newspapers that Hiddink told him he is the new Manager of CHE.
Take it with a lot of reserve tho.

    Butland
    Bellerin / Dawson / Alderweireld
    Ozil / Barkley / KdB / Mahrez
    Kane / Vardy / Ighalo

Gomes, Kolarov, Nyom, Alli. 1 FT, £4.7m ITB

Thinking of shaking up my midfield a little as my closest mini-league rival has the exact same lineup. Was thinking of bringing in Wijnaldum perhaps for KdB or Barkley?

I also massively regret choosing Kane over Lukaku to replace Kun a couple of weeks back. Should I be patient or make the change now seeing as Leicester-Everton has a good chance of being a high-scoring game?

    Toby Bellerin Moreno

    Deulofeu KDB Ozil Mahrez

    Aguero Vardy Lukaku(C)

    Myhill Mccarthy
    Bellerin Kolarov Moreno Toby Oxford
    KDB Ozil Mahrez Barkley Mane
    Ighalo Vardy Lukaku

    1 ft 6.1 itb

    A) Myhill to Butland
    B) Oxford to Wollscheid

Was set to do B but with Foster back in training tempted to do A.

Wolly will give me extra cover over Xmas but leaves a bit of a bench headache and I wouldn't want to play him every week as he offers no attacking threat, whereas Butland can just be transferred in and probably forgot about for the rest of the season. Will need to make a keeper transfer at some point anyway. Thoughts?

    Current team -

    Begovic, Hennessey
    Moreno, Coleman, Simpson, Shawcross, Souare
    Hazard, Ozil, Sterling, Mahrez, Lanzini
    Vardy, Lukaku, Kane

    How does

    Sterling -> Wijnaldum

slight benching headache up top atm, currently benching Ighalo and playing

    Ozil - KDB - Mahrez - Coutinho - Deulofeu
    Vardy - Lukaku

Would you play Ighalo over any of these? Tough to bench his current form. Thanks

      • 11 Years
      10 years, 3 months ago

I'm currently benching Iggy as well, and I have Deulofeu

I'm pondering Deulofeu --> Wij today

Benching Iggy is risky but Watford don't tend to score against the stronger teams, however he is bang in form and can't discount.

      Good luck

    2. Teddy Brewski
      • 11 Years
      10 years, 3 months ago

Wow that's a tough one. You can't bench Ighalo though imo.

Deulofeu is the least reliable so i'd bench him. Or KDB is you have a big enough sofa to hid behind on MNF!

      1. Rodallega Bomb
        • 10 Years
        10 years, 3 months ago

I need to keep Deulofeu on really as the guy i'm going head to head with doesnt have him, yet he does have iggy so i'll be in bits if iggy scores 1 or 2. Whenever Watford score it's always deeney or ighalo. Think I'm gonna have to play him!

Saw that incident again last night with Costa throwing his bib at jose it was obvious that things had gone badly wrong there.
Costa had absolutely no respect for him.
It was only a matter of time before he went.
I hope Sunderland beat them two or three nil to show it wasn't all the managers fault.

He bought Costa, he knew the risks with a person like that. He has nobody but himself to blame if he did end up at logger heads with home.

Sanchez, Santi and Ozil are the types of player that work long term and not lunatics with a bad attitude.
