Just minutes after the final whistle blew on Gameweek 21, Jonty, Andy and myself braved the airwaves to pick the bones out of our meagre midweek tallies.

Brought back down to earth by a decidedly lacklustre floodlit affair, we rouse ourselves to debate the Aguero armband, the rapidly increasing speed of the Payet bandwagon and the theories behind the stuttering United backline.

We even make our dedication to the departed David Bowie, before quickly ushering out our disappointment of the Gameweek just past by previewing the one that lies ahead.

      Wow, I lost my money league in those DGW's. First, I didn't want to touch Aston Villa and QPR players for their DGW and they had a goalfest... and for the second one I bought 2 Liverpool player for a hit, Moreno then got injured and got me 0 pts in 3 GWs -.-

          Yep its difficult to know, its also difficult to know what kind of game you will get when two "big teams" play each other.

      His touch/pass map for yesterday was the best I've seen with no returns.

      Take a look at Navas though, so many of his crosses failed, I think 1/11 was successful. He had the ball c.20 times in the area and made naff all.

        Astounding? for 10.9m he is blowing very hot and cold. Hes had 2 greats scores surrounded by alot of weeks where he has very small returns. Blanking at home last week to boot.

        Add in the emergence of Payet and the expensive strikers beginning to become abit popular again which requires funds to be freed up elsewhere, id find it strange if he hadnt dropped this week.

      What was the quality like, though? I remember at least 5 free kicks in really promising positions that troubled no-one and went straight out for a goal kick.

        ahh you see there is no stat that measures quality, just quantity

        same thing with shots ( and shot selection)

        you always have to take those stats with a grain of salt and put them in perspective

        20 is still an insane amount even though 9 of them were corners and only 5 were successful

        Any attacking returns would've likely gave him 3BPs

          So the stats are all well and good, but having watched the game I thought it was the worst he'd played for a while - and can't understand why anyone was waxing lyrical about that performance. But if the quantity helps towards BPs then you have a fair point. I'm not selling yet(despite the price drop) but, from the way it looks like he's playing, for me he's a transfer to Sanchez waiting to happen.

            Same reason why Payet is bp magnet as well is because of the insane amount of crosses

            Same reason why Sagna/Clichy got 3 BPs and why Kolarov is also bp magnet

            It's a very under the radar stat, that is vitally important for bonus point purposes

              a cross that leads to any shot (on target or not) also counts as a key pass (chance created) so one cross has the potential to gain 2BPS and even more for fullbacks if they got a tackle/interception to set up the play

                Looks to me like a case of if you can't beat em, join em. I did mention yesterday that I thought the Everton defenders were more worthy recipients of the BPs (although in fairness they were only a point behind) - but I guess it helps if you understand the system, transparent as it is.

                  I don't necesarily agree with BPS system either but we just have to play by the rules.

                  Crosses are a bit like a loophole in the flawed system.

      Think with Aguero I'd be looking to ship out KDB to Payet but not sure I'd want to do it before this home game. Plus it's not as though you need the money... although if you plan on bringing Sanchez in then KDB > Payet and Ozil > Sanchez could be tempting.

    is it bad to be considering Ozil > Payet even though I own Ramsey?

    Tried to use the comparison tool for the last 4 game weeks and that did not help at all (hadn't actually seen that result before). Ramsey looks to be more dangerous for goals, but Ozil's assist threat is always present.

        Good point. When is Cazorla due back? I don't think Sanchez coming back will affect Ramsey too much as Sanchez will just replace Campbell/Ox.

        I'm kind of hoping cazorla doesn't get back into the team.

    atm gone with Williams, Wolly and Smith who are all at home. Thinking of maybe swapping Wolly to a Spurs defender - have 1.1m in bank but with Defoe on fire + the amount of times we seem to have former players score against us I'm thinking just saving my FT might be better.

            yeah really like Xbox live and love the free games with gold membership, usually get one great game every few months. I've built up a nice little library and you can even download xbox1 free games too for a time when you upgrade, although I don't use it enough to warrant buying an xbox1, would only do it if my 360 broke.

            wasn't mad on fifa15 but really liking the new defensive side of 16 and find it more satisfying to play, 15 was just about pace but they have done a good job balancing 16

          Last year went about 5 seasons in with Northampton for the fun, this year went with Pool. 10th season in now.

          Keeps me away from crappy EA servers, and in career mode there will only ever be 1 team with Musa or Doumbia, as opposed to every team in FUT. Less rage more fun

      so do we reckon the template is finally broken?

      the likes of Vardy, Mahrez, Ighalo and even Ozil seem to have dipped in form. Lots of new options starting to show face now.

      are people scared about loosing people like Mahrez in regard to ownership and loss of value? or should us 'regulars' and 'non casuals' use our experience to when to ditch players and move on to fresh blood?

        We can only hope that it's broken for good now. I'm also hoping for some Kun/Costa/Sanchez/KDB/Hazard explosions, so they become essential again and make the casuals actually make some effort for the first time in this season. (Not just simply buy cheap Vardy and see him getting points every wek)

        I'm not losing Mahrez, simply because he was so cheap I can afford to make him my 5th mid now. I'd be scared if I got rid, though. He is a brilliant player.

          yeah the issue with Mahrez is a lot of us got him for next to nothing so a lot of value will be lost on him in a way, I think if you sell him it will be very hard to justify buying him back unless his price drops dramatically which prob won't happen

            I got on the Mahrez a bit late and picked him up for 6.3 so i would only lose 0.4 if I sold him which is a lot less than most others. That said, I still feel he's a keeper so am not considering it. He'll score again very soon and even if he were to fall out of favour I would use him as my 5th mid/bench. He is still extremely good value for money no matter how you look at him.
