So, as it transpires, my conversion to the “dullside” is almost complete. How else can I explain the fact that I appear to have formed a hive mind with Jonty.

Having recently caved in and recruited Sergio Aguero, this episode of the ScoutCast sees things take an even more alarming twist as I find myself replicating Jonty’s thinking – for so long the archetype of a dullard Fantasy Football manager.

Andy can only watch on, doing his best to quell my concerns as the three of us tackle another round of community queries. We talk around ways of breaking out of the template that constrains us, discuss the forthcoming fixture blanks, assess the prospect of doubling up on defences and even consider selling Aguero.

Jonty dismisses the idea and, true to form, I agree with him. How did it come to this?

This episode of the ScoutCast was first aired live on YouTube channel. You can witness the full recording via the larger player below, or wallow in the edited audio version via this link and the smaller player.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

currently planning on captaining lukaku (have aguero and kane), and then selling him for vardy. i realise aguero is aguero and he's tempting, but west brom are a bit of an omnishambles at the moment, and everton won last 2 games 3-0.

surely lukaku the obvious/safe pick no?

Thinking this, or VVD, or Bellerin. Really want to play Daniels, seems most attacking and Stoke are a prime fixture atm. Very difficult. Obviously Morenos recent run is very poor but away at Villa he could get the double digit return he is soon bound to get.

It's hard to define morality by laws, that's my point, and the laws about this issue differ a lot around Europe. Comparing to hundreds of years ago, when it was alrigiht for English kings to date 11-year olds, I think that's funny 🙂

Was planning on saving a FT this week, bench Ighalo and sell him for Vardy next week. With lots of European football and cup matches between now and GW27, that makes sense, right?

There's just this tiny little voice inside my head saying: "If you're not playing Ighalo, you might as well just sell him for Vardy this week!"

Do you guys listen to the voices in your heads? Getting in Vardy would just increase my benching headache anyway...

To all those who are doubting Aguero:

Spurs have conceded most goals in the box over the last 4 gameweeks and Aguero has scored most goals in the box over the past 4 gameweeks!

      Alternatively..

No Silva, no KDB, no Navas and Yaya has been really poor. Sunderland contained City to 5 created chances with Silva on the pitch.

      Also..

      - Tottenham are the only team in the Premier League who haven't conceded three goals or more in a game.
      - Tottenham have conceded two goals in a league game just three times this season.
      - The last time Tottenham conceded two goals in a league game was the 13th December against Newcastle - Gameweek 16.
      - Tottenham have conceded two goals in an away league game just once all season. This was against Swansea on the 4th October - Gameweek 8.
      - Tottenham have played away from home against three of the top five teams for goals scored at home (not including themselves). They kept one clean sheet and conceded a goal in each of the other two games.
      - The only teams who haven't conceded three goals or more in a league game in Europe's top five leagues (Premier League, Bundesliga, Ligue 1, Serie A and La Liga) are Tottenham, PSG, Juventus and Atletico Madrid.

Yes but Hazard was doing absolutely nothing while Aguero is scoring over a goal per game in recent form, not really a good comparison is it?

Was just a general point that "It's X" isn't valid.

Costa has 7 goals and 3 assists in last 9 and Aguero has 9 goals and 2 assists in last 9. Costa's midfield support is currently far superior, he has better/fewer fixtures over a longer spread of time and doesn't have a blank. It's possible Spurs keep a cleansheet, let alone needing Aguero specifically to score, whereas Chelsea has Newcastle at home and they're in good form.

Anyhow, it's still not an easy decision and I one I haven't pulled the trigger yet.

I would suggest you get better acquainted with the Opta stats before you spread more false information.

The category you're looking at is goals SCORED, not conceded. To find 9 goals conceded by Spurs, you have to go back 13 games.

be on bench for fa cup. pell has said he will put out a weaker team due to amount of fixtures, will play in league cup as its final, and will want to win, deffo wont leave him out for cl game, thats the one comp they do want to progress in

Interesting, didn't know he was going to hand Chelsea easy passage in the FA Cup. Wouldn't that mean City play Norwich in GW30?

On the bench for FA Cup definitely, but it still means 3 games in about 7 days if he's to play vs Liverpool on the 2nd.

yeah, but if he doesnt play fa cup, he would of had a 10 day rest from tot game to kiev game

I was talking about the Kyiv game to the second Liverpool game. I'd want him back in for Villa.

                14 Feb - (H) Tottenham
                21 Feb - (A) Chelsea (FA Cup)
                24 Feb - (A) Dynamo Kyiv (CL)
                28 Feb - Liverpool (C1C Final)
                2 Mar - (A) Liverpool
                5 Mar - (H) Aston Villa

Sell and get back for Villa at home, Norwich away (if Chelsea progress in the FA Cup), looks a reasonable strategy.

    Two more weeks for Bolasie.

I know they're poor picks most of the time but I've missed Coutinho and Bolasie in FPL...good entertainment one way or the other.
