The ScoutCast – Episode 184 – Foresight

Foresight – that precious gift that that can bless any Fantasy Football manager. We need it now more than ever.

As Jonty, Andy and myself struggle with the countless permutations offered up by the looming double Gameweeks, we can only hope that our mutterings and musings come laced with just a little dash of foresight.

Steered by an array of community questions targeting the possibilities of the fixture pile-up to come, the three of us discuss the best-laid plans in attempt to jolt our squads out of the current rut.

Around the early double Gameweek discussion, we chew over the optimum blank-dodging strategies as Sigurdsson, Spurs and Stoke top the menu of options. Then, inevitably, we turn attentions to the immediate job at hand, as we preview the weekend and pinpoint potential clean sheets and “Fantasy Island Risks”.

    Should I get Arnie then do him to him to Siggy in 2 GWs or shall I try and beat the bandwagon/price rises etc and just go for Siggy now

      Was only one last GW. One too many tho. Sucks for owners, but the Shawcross CS correlation isn't a full 1.0

      I'd almost be surprised if Villa score another 3 goals all season, never mind in one game.

    Need to do at least one of the moves below
    1. Jagielka/Evans -> Daniels/Wolly (only 1 out 1 in)
    2. Firmino -> ??

    Just want to ensure a buffer 12th man expecting rotation.

      Would bring in Williams for gw 30, and bench him for next 2. But, Jagielka > Daniels is also good. Evans out next week.

    A lot of people consider Arnie as 5th mid, due to Stoke have a game on GW30. Does anyone consider a differential? Afellay, Imbula, they scored recently, are much cheaper, and we need them for GW30 only. I am going to play Aguero-Vardy-Kane, which is pretty much template, and I am not going to bench them. So it means 3-4-3, so 5th mid is a bench warmer. It makes sense if it's a cheaper option, but still can get you some points when needed.

    1. DanwiseTheBrave
      • 12 Years

      Imbula is tempting

          He is, but he sure got off to a good start. might be worth a punt as a cheap 5th.

    Butland

    Bellerin Dann Dier Fuchs

    Ozil Mahrez Alli Payet

    Kane Vardy

    // Firmino / Kun / Jags

    Got 1 FT left. Firmino out for Arnie or stick?

    How does the price fall/rise system work? This week Butland was transferred in by 4,000 more managers than transferred him out. Yet his price fell by point one. Counter intuitive, no?

      The price fall was on Sunday morning 14th February, which would be the first price change after the deadline for GW26.

      So it may have been caused by transfers out at the end of GW25.

    Backline is

    Butland
    Bellerin Alderweireld Moreno PVA Bennett

    2FTs and have to play 4 defenders.
    A) Moreno -> Fuchs, play PVA save FT
    B) Moreno, Bennett -> Fuchs, Wolly and bench PVA

    I got £3.4m in the bank. Should I buy Aguero back for next week? Which players are really worth the investment and I should get them?

    Butland
    Dann Toby Huth
    Mahrez Payet Özil Alli
    Vardy Valencia Kane (c)

    Bench: Cech, Azpi. Barkley, Sagna

    Benching whom will hurt me more?

    A) Alli - 40% ownership and against a not bad Swansea side at home.

    B) Arnie - 10% ownership and against the worst team in PL. (No offence Villa fans)
