After rolling out Part One of our assessment of the recent internationals, we now examine the pitch time and distance travelled by those players who ply their trade for the remaining ten teams.

NEWCASTLE

With Tim Krul already a long-term absentee, Rafael Benitez was dealt a cruel blow following the season-ending knee injury suffered by Rob Elliot whilst playing for Republic of Ireland against Slovakia on Tuesday night. Chancel Mbemba and Henri Saivet will need to be assessed following long flights back to Tyneside.

Rob Elliot – Republic of Ireland (25/03 (h) v Switzerland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Slovakia in Dublin) – Unused substitute against Switzerland, but started against Slovakia. Suffered a serious knee injury during the first-half on Tuesday night, and has been ruled out for at least six months.

NORWICH

None of the Norwich players face long flights back, with Dieumerci Mbokani not featuring for DR Congo after being at Zaventem Airport in Brussels during the terror attacks. Alex Neil shouldn’t have too many issues as he prepares his side for the crunch home clash against fellow strugglers Newcastle on Saturday.

Martin Olsson – Sweden (24/03 (a) v Turkey in Antalya and 29/03 (h) v Czech Republic in Solna) – Was an unused substitute against Turkey, but played the full match against Czech Republic, registering an assist in the 1-1 draw.
Timm Klose – Switzerland (25/03 (a) v Republic of Ireland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Bosnia- Herzegovina in Zurich) – Played the full match in Dublin, and 45 minutes as a substitute against Bosnia- Herzegovina.

Cedric Soares and Jose Fonte – Portugal (25/03 (h) v Bulgaria in Leiria and 29/03 (h) v Belgium in Leiria) – Both players were unused substitutes against Bulgaria, but played the full 90 minutes in the 2-1 win over Belgium.

Shane Long – Republic of Ireland (25/03 (h) v Switzerland in Dublin and 29/03 (h) v Slovakia in Dublin) – Played 84 minutes in the first match, and 45 in the second, scoring a penalty before being substituted at half-time.
Graziano Pelle – Italy (24/03 (h) v Spain in Udine and 29/03 (a) v Germany in Munich) – Only played 60 minutes against Spain.

STOKE

Mark Hughes was dealt a huge blow when Jack Butland was ruled out for the rest of the season after suffering a fractured ankle during England’s friendly in Germany. SUNDERLAND

Only DeAndre Yedlin played 180 minutes over the international break among the Black Cats’ squad, so the right-back will need to be assessed when he returns, with Sunderland facing a crucial home fixture against West Brom on Saturday.

Jordan Pickford – England U21 (26/03 (a) v Switzerland in Thun) – 90 minutes.

WEST BROM

Salomon Rondon wasn’t available for Venezuela’s second match due to suspension and flew back to the midlands early as a result. That should increase the chances the striker starts against Sunderland on Saturday, while Gareth McAuley, Jonny Evans and James Chester all played their second matches on Monday night, giving them some extra recovery time.

Gareth McAuley and Jonny Evans – Northern Ireland (24/03 (a) v Wales in Cardiff and 28/03 (h) v Slovenia in Belfast) – McAuley played the full 90 minutes and Cardiff, before playing just the first-half against Slovenia. WEST HAM

Slaven Bilic will be delighted with the form Dimitri Payet showed on the international duty, while he’ll also be pleased he only played 27 minutes on Tuesday night, meaning he should be pretty fresh for the home encounter against Crystal Palace. Enner Valencia did play both matches for Ecuador though, and will need to be assessed on his return to the club.

Who would you get in for Butland?

    1) Mignolet (no blanks, DGW)
    2) Robles (2 DGWs but rotation risk?)
    3) Cech (risk it for the Busquet)

            Alongside Can in the two.

Or in a three with Can and Henderson. It has often been:
            Milner-Can-Hendo
            Lallana-Firmino-Coutinho

because it can be pretty fluid into

            Can-Hendo
            Milner-Lallana-Coutinho
            Firmino

      So Doos...

Antonio back to wing? Lanzini still a better choice?

Still going with the Lukaku triple © GW33?

I like Payet's prospects in GW37 as the last two games on Boleyn Ground. Go out with a bang?

I like the look of Lanzini, good omen for next season. presumably he is quite attack-minded but blend him in with some defensive mids to get he balance.

what are your feelign on Europa league - blessing or curse?

I thought he would be better at home and Lanzini is supposedly fresh-er?

        A) Lallana/Firmino/Yaya
        B) Lallana/Milner/KDB

        Leaning towards A tbh.

Think Coutinho has been overshadowing Firmino since the return. Also, Studge's comeback affects Firmino's output.

Hi all, repost from the other article. With my GKs Butland and Elliot injured...

                A) Go with Robles in goal for the DGWs and get Smalling for United coverage (-4 between now and GW34)

                OR

                B) Get De Gea for Elliot, Sakho instead of Smalling (-8)

                    From now until end of the season, would you rather;

A: Van Aanolt (WBA, LEI, nor, ARS, sto, CHE, EVE, wat)

B: Clyne (TOT, STO, bou, EVE, NEW, swa, WAT, CHE, wba)

                    * note, i already have Sakho and option A allows me to get Sturridge in gw35 if I want.

Was planning on Cech and Firmino for my WC this week. Cech not confirmed by Wenger and Firmino didn't train. Would you risk either or both of them or come up with alternatives?

Have you already hit the WC button?

Really is a tough one now. Cech it sounds like he'll definitely play next week if not this one. Firmino we just don't know. I'd assume same but not sure why he hasn't trained

                          Yup, WC already hit.

I was thinking of Courtois over Cech, dropping Azpi for Koscielny. And Coutinho for Firmino?

I have Firmino; not trasferring. i have butland, and am considering Cech.

worst case is bench players come in.

Hennessey and Bolasie as placeholders and get those two in gw34?

Don't plan to play Firmino this week - because he won't.

Hammy's are a troublesome thing. Tricky. Bolasie now, Firmino later?

Probably cos he's worried about hurting Ospina's feelings. It's all about man management. I bet my house he'll play.

What's better to play (rival has Alexis and probably (c) him). Not worried about overall rank just winning the cash ML:
                        (A) Payet (c), Williams and Courtious
                        (B) Alexis (c), Reid and no keeper

                        Rojo caught smoking

Marcos Rojo has risked the wrath of Louis van Gaal after the Manchester United defender was seen smoking outside a nightclub.

Out of Coutinho, Milner and Lallana, who to get on my WC this week? Also considering getting a placeholder (Bolasie/Barkley) and save some money for Coutinho/Firmino before GW34.

No GK this week, is Butland > Cortois worth a -4? Or okay playing with 10?

Cortois would also block mini league rival who has Azpilicueta

Just don't want to wildcard yet, not until 33 with so much uncertainty about team selection and potential injuries/recoveries
