I'm doing -8 to get 2 players I almost got for WC but punted on Bolasie

    Delaney Bolasie Lukaku OUT
    TFM Milner Martial IN

I will have enough for Firmino or Coutinho instead of Milner though

    Lost on last page....

Who is Nasri competing with for a GW34 starting spot? Seems likely to play in GW35 given he can't play in the CL but wondering how good a pick he'd be for this week.

So for -8 this is me for gw34?

    Robles
    Smalling, Fosu, Bellerin, Gabriel
    Sanchez, KDB, Payet, Firmino
    Aguero, Martial

    Darlow, Wickham, Zaha, Simpson

TC Sanchez or Martial is the next big decision

Hard to look past Sanchez though.

Currently have Yaya (don't ask). Worth keeping for the double as a differential or lose for someone like Coutinho/Firminho?

2.8m ITB, 1 FT, intend to bench boost.

    ROBLES, HENN
    BELLERIN, GABRIEL, Fuchs, Daniels, Wolly
    YAYA, PAYET, OZIL, LENNON, Mahrez,
    AGUERO, LUKAKU, Kane

Also intend to hoof Daniels and Wolly.

no, def not - keep the faith in lukaku

Looking at the Man U FA Cup team bench and players returning from injury, I do not hold out much hope for Rojo, Rashford and Lingard getting two games in DGW 34. Might get 60 - 90 minutes max over the DGW 34, perhaps a bit more

I find your dgw planner spreadsheet very useful and am always on the lookout for any help I can get!

        • 12 Years
        9 years, 10 months ago

Cheeseoid organised a road trip up the rankings four weeks back for a few of us and we track our progress to gain 66 points on the masses over the last quarter. So I started 66 points behind 5k, Cheeseoid 66 points behind 10k etc. We also post our potential transfers and captaincy plans in there and discuss them using google's chat feature on the spreadsheet. Its more of a social feature to help each other than an FPL tool. If you still want to join in, ask Cheeseoid for an invite when you see him about and we can work out a target for you to chase down.

Best chip this week = TC.

    TC in a SGW = 3 games. TC in a DGW = 6 games.

3 x Sanchez extra games this week with nice fixtures is a match made in heaven.

Assuming Kane/Mahrez/Lei D is kept and most teams have 14 DGW.

BB in a SGW = 4 games. BB this DGW = 7 games. Also 3 extra games.

The three extra games are however from your worst players, say Darlow, Bolasie, Gabriel. No comparison to 3 extra Sanchez.

The above is based on absolute scores. If however you apply an opportunity cost analysis and this is the only week you have 14 DGW, BB may be better since it may still be possible to TC in GW37.

You're double counting. The assumption being you'd captain your TC anyway

        Round up Sanchez recent ppg to 9 = C 36 vs 54

        18pts difference

My bench will be Robles Daniels Simpson Kane. I expect them to score 18 or better.

Sanchez would have to absolutely explode, not suffer injury, get rotated/benched etc unlikely I know but still.

Point is that if you BB in a SGW, Robles Daniels Simpson & Kane will net you say 16. Only Robles has a DGW. So why waste your DGW opportunity to BB?

You're right. DGW captains get 4 games anyway. So TC DGW is worth 2 games.

        I'd still take 2xSanchez over Darlow+Bolasie+Gabriel

If you saying 2x Sanchez for TC vs the other players you have to put 2x in front of those players

a BB on GW37 is a real headache because most teams will have notthing to play for, rotation will be rife and the kids will get a run out, unless youre looking to load up on the relegation battlers. thats one of the main reasons im bb-ing this week.

getting a TC in GW37 will be easier cos its likely West Ham will be fighting for a Cup place or a costas back etc

Agree with this. Also, Arsenal has great fixtures in GW36 and GW38 but is away at ManC in GW37. Juggling that issue alone makes a GW37 BB very tricky to manage.

It doesn't have to be a dgw for the bench boost imo.

If I TC Sanchez this week I gain two Sanchez vs Delaney, Darlow and Couts when comparing to a single game week. The fourth player is Simpson who will only play once in 34 and 36

    Darmian + Jagielka > Fosu Mensa + Otamendi for -4 ?

I already have Mignolet and Lovren, and 0.0 in the bank

I only Ced him for insurance as I knew rivals would TC.

No way I was touching him. He does this season after season hence Trollkaku

I'm regretting choosing Darmian over Rojo as lvg has starter rojo in the last 2 games and the public consensus here was to go safe with Darmian.

So it comes down to Darmian to Rojo for free this week. Should I go ahead? Or will fosu-mensah be benched after starting 2 consecutive games?

    P.S. Had a pathetic gw33.

I feel like I would avoid Man U defence as a whole in your position. I'm stuck with Rojo and would definitely not bring him in.

IMO, bring Smalling/DDG or none at all, maybe Moreno?

Fair enough, I feel you might be falling into a similar trap with Fosu-Mensah though. Stick situation you're in

I'm sorry you got some duff information. The only safe options in that United backline were Smalling and De Gea though.

Beat me to it. Consensus was definitely Smalling or runaway from their defenders. If you can't stretch to Fosu then I'd look at other defences personally, maybe Reid from West Ham.

Already had DDG and couldn't afford Smalling. So there was that. And someone suggested Damian's pretty much nailed when fit. Tough luck I guess.

    Do:

    a) Vardy ---> Sturrigde for -4

    b) Borthwick Jackson --> Moreno for -4

Is it worth dropping Mahrez for Lanzini / Anonio for a -4 hit??

PS: it's to free up funds to bring in Kane for Lukaku for GW35.

    Thanks

        Fabianski 🙁
        Bellerin Toby Ivan Fuchs
        Ozil Iwobi Alli
        Kane Aguero Vardy

        worth it??

Depends what you mean by nailed. He's a nailed first choice. But City have champions league final a few days after GW35... so it's possible that he could get a rest somewhere. Will depend how City do over the DGW and how United/West Ham do - if CL football is looking a lot more certain he could be dropped in that GW.

He's nailed for this coming GW easily. I honestly don't think City's best defender, bar Kompany, would be rested

49 pts after taking a -4 hit. That wasn't a good week. Let's hope this week is better.
Does this look ok? Captaincy might change although with nothing left I feel like taking a risk

    Mignolet
    Otamendi / Smalling / Bellerin
    Ozil / Iwobi(c) / Payet / Alli
    Kun / Martial / Lukaku

Subs: Butland / Mahrez / Williams / Daniels

Seems it wasn't a good week for many 🙁

I'm hoping so too. Took a -8 yesterday to do Vardy, Bolasie, Flanno > Martial, Iwobi, Smalling. Fingers crossed it pays off.

Keep telling myself that I should take the risks as i've got nothing left to play for, but at the same time I want to see how well I can do :p
