Tuesday evening serves up a solitary fixture as Gameweek 34 moves into the fourth of a marathon six-day stretch. Newcastle gave their survival bid a real shot in the arm with a vital 3-0 home win over Swansea on Saturday but face a tough task at St James’ against a City side that have scored seven times in their previous couple of road trips.

The visitors arrive in sparkling form after a Sergio Aguero hat-trick swept aside Chelsea at the Bridge in the first of their two Gameweek 34 fixtures. Over their respective last four matches, Manuel Pellegrini’s men sit joint-top with Arsenal for attempts inside the box (47) and have found the net on nine occasions. Considering that their hosts have conceded 37 shots inside the box over that period – a tally worse than only two other sides, United and West Ham with 40 apiece – and City’s prospects of more goals seems likely.

Newcastle have scored seven times in their last four, though have been boosted by a goal conversion rate of 14.9% during that time frame – only Arsenal (16.1%) have been more clinical. A total of 27 efforts inside the penalty area fares poorly when compared to this evening’s opponents, though. Indeed, bearing in mind that City have the second-most resilient defence for efforts conceded in the box (20 to Tottenham’s 19), Newcastle may well have their work cut out to deliver another precious three points.

One plus, and I may be grasping at straws... Klopp may not rotate quite so much against Newcastle following their last two performances.

Top of Mini league rival hasn't touched his team for two weeks. Was 20 points ahead of me after gw 32 having used all of his chips. Now after he has scored nearly 200 points in the last two weeks my wildcard and bench boost gw 33 and 34 has left me 50 behind. Unbelievable.

Looks like these that decided to use their TC on Aguero this DGW are a big winners. Over 70 points from 1 player is exactly what you expect and hope for when using that chip.

What about the ones that still have the Triple Captain chip in hand? Who are you going to trust by pushing an activating button?

Would love to look at the others' opinion as to be entirely fair I don't find any stand out option.

    My candidates:

    DGW-players:
    - Payet (SWA, MUN) in DGW37
    - Defoe (CHE, EVE) in DGW37

could also be a Man Utd attacker or Lukaku that DGW, but I think the risk of being trolled is just too high…

    SGW-players:
    - Sanchez (NOR) in GW36
    - Sanchez (AVL) in GW38
    - Lukaku (BOU) in GW36

the ones that also come my mind are Aguero (STK) or Kane (WBA) in the upcoming GW, as they're in great form. It's just so soon, I am not sure I wanna use it already rather than keeping it for the actual finish-line of the season.

    What are your thoughts?
Who is your TC candidate for now?
Any other candidates rather that aboves?
Please share it with us 🙂

If I still had it (dammit Lukaku) I would be tempted to use it on Kane this week, or an Arsenal attacker GW38

Same, but Klopp's rotation spree makes it too risky. I just don't see many good options to (C) GW37, hence my decision to use the BB then...

Is it really worth getting rid of Mitrovic this round? The only possible replacement I see (unless I sell KDB/Ozil/Payet) is Defoe, and I'm not very confident he will outscore Mitrovic with 4 points even if Mitrovic starts on the bench..

You'd be getting in Defoe more for his double in 37 than 35.

Big decision for me now. Keep KDB for 35 and hope for the best or take a -8 total (after other needed transfers) to get Ali. Which would you rather?

    A) Robles, Dann, Lukaku -> Darlow, Krichhoff, Kane (-4)
    or
    B) Robles, Dann, KDB, Lukaku-> Forster, PVA, ALi, Kane (-8)
