After rolling out the first instalment of our two-part series of members’ articles covering the last four friendlies, we cast an eye over another batch of standout performers. The Belgium and France midfields come under analysis after some stellar recent displays, whilst we also assess a number of in-form forwards ahead of tonight’s opening match of Euro 2016.

Howedes (5.0) and Hector (5.5) both 100% nailed? So Howedes to keep 0.5M right?

Hector is a much greater attacking threat. Germany haven't been that good at keeping clean sheets so I'm taking Hector to try and get an attacking reward.

    What's France's back line?

I have 5m to spend. Do I get Rami or Mangala?

Who do you think the best cheap forward will be? I think Sigthorsson, Eder (if I can nail a place) or Long are the best bets

Bellerin might be a threat, but I think that's exaggerated on here due to our bias towards Bellerin. Spanish newspapers have Juanfran nailed.

I've made a few changes today but looking for opinions on whether I should have please. TEAM 1 has been changed to TEAM 2.

    TEAM 1
    SOMMER, Patricio
    Rami, Dier, HECTOR, Juanfran, Guerrero
    Payet, Alli, Gotze, Perisic, ALABA
    Giroud, Muller, JANKO

    TEAM 2
    KOZACIK, Patricio
    Rami, Dier, DJOUROU, Juanfran, Guerrero
Payet, Alli, Gotze, Perisic, DE BRUYNE
    Giroud, Muller, NOLITO

I changed mainly because I wanted KDB. I don't think my defence is greatly impacted as I still have a Swiss and I don't think the Germans will keep many clean sheets. Janko was a one game gamble and I'm a little unsure on Nolito. If I had another 0.5 I'd keep Alaba and move on Alli instead.

    Thoughts?

    Neuer
    Fonte - Kos - Vrsaljko
    Payet - Raktic - R.Sanches - Ozil
    Nolito - Muller - Ronaldo

    Subs - Vargic - Giaccherini - Bartra - T.Motta

There's a risk of a few players not playing: Sanches, Motta, Bartra, Fonte being the main ones.

Dier, and Rami are decent priced defensive options. Switch Neur for a cheaper goalie (Patricio or Sommer) and put in Howedes / Hector instead if you want German cover at the back. Should free up cash for midfield.

      Good luck!

    1. Fanta sea

Out of those, I'd go for Matuidi since I know he'll play and he likes to get forward. Pogba's return doesn't justify his tag and Payet might not start.

I'd actually go for another player from a different team.

Squad numbers don't necessarily indicate starting places. On the basis of squad numbers, Mustafa starts ahead of Boateng, Jallet ahead of Sagna, Cabaye ahead of Pogba, and Schürrle and Podolski ahead of Götze and Müller.

Can someone clarify following rule for me:

    "Manager substitutions
After all matches on a single day have finished and before the next matches start, you can:

Replace any player (unless they were sent off) with one from your bench whose team is yet to play
Change your captain (if he was not sent off) with a player from your squad whose team is yet to play
Players who are substituted out will score 0 points. The captain bonus will be lost from your original captain if a new captain is selected. Substitutions and captain changes can't be cancelled once confirmed"

Does this mean that, for example tonight I can pick Giroud as captain, then if he doesnt score well, change captaincy to Ronaldo with no point penalty? Effectively a 'double chance' if your captain doesn't score well?!

Seems like a cack rule to me...

    1. nevins84

      Yup nuts isnt it

    2. juggos
      • 13 Years

You can change captaincy between days just like you can manually sub out players. You lose half of the the doubled pts that Gru got (i.e. the captain bonus) therefore you will only get his usual match pts x 1. Yes you can change captaincy to Ronaldo or any player who plays in a future day. This means you can swap it to a swiss player the next day, then a german, then a spanish and end with Ronaldo. But once you pick a captain that does well, then you should stick with him and lock in that captain bonus

That's right. But you can change the captain every day, so you'd probably want to switch it to Ronaldo on the last day (14th), if you haven't scored highly already.

      Same goes for substitutions.

My team is looking more risky and maverick than ever. What the hell, what you think?

    Patricio / Mucha
    Alba / Rami / Rodriguez / Strinic / Lindoff
    Draxler / Perisic / Fabregas / Mak / Matuidi
    Ronaldo / Muller / Giroud

Is Lindoff in fact Swedish def Lindelof?

Skeptical about Darmian if Italy play 3 at the back.

What is the consensus on Milik?

Does anyone have him in their teams?
