Saturday’s events end with a collision between two sides scrapping for a Euro 16 foothold.

Austria arrived in France with a laudable record in qualifying and were considered a darkhorse. But Marcel Koller’s men were found wanting in their opening fixture, frustrated and eventually overwhelmed by the Hungarians.

That 2-0 defeat means that tonight’s meeting with Portugal is now more vital than ever.

Fernando Santos’ side are also in dire need of the victory.

They were unable to overcome an Icelandic barrier to earn victory in their opening group encounter and now found themselves on the back foot. Defeat to Austria would swing the group wide open, leading to a dramatic final round of matches later this week.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

No Vidal in the semis means a tight match w Colombia IMO.

Colombia have been poor this tournament though. Would rather face them than Chile.

That trident has worked so well for Chile. Vidal-Sanchez-Vargas. Last year Valdivia and Aranguis were also coming up big. Terrifying when they're in flow.

Damn this game. I'm in the 2FT vs Wildcard dilemma and leaning toward the former.

Would appreciate suggestions based on these 3 options:

    A) Strinic, Giroud, Kane (what iI have now)

    B) Strinic, Vardy, Bale

    C) Guerrero, Giroud, Sturridge

Would you rather have Gotze (NIR) or Martial (SUI) for this week?

I'm just now realizing that a FRA player might be worth putting into this WC side of mine, having the ability to see the XI before deadline.

Martial if pushed. Gotze is far from nailed on current form.

Was thinking same. Would give me a (C) punt on Day 1 of the round and I have Draxler already in my MF.

        Cheers

Would be nice if Payet started, Id keep that spot for him and have an extra 1m to spend.

    Rui Patricio-Sommer
    Rodriguez-Dier-Giacherrini-Hector-Rami
    Hakan-Perisic-Mak-Payet-Junuzovic
    Lewadowski-Muller-Nolito
Except Payet and Perisic, my midfield is not great and strikers are underperforming plus a few players are not expected to start. WC is the way forward, isn't it?
In defence i will switch over Rodriguez to a Romanian or a Poland defender. Rest all expected to start aren't they?
