Up next in our series of members articles, which assess the statistics behind the 2015/16 season, is Watford.

We start off by looking at the Hornets’ team data in Quique Sanchez Flores’ solitary campaign at the helm and compare them to the rest of Premier League. After that, we analyse their first-team squad, main goal threats and creative sources in an attempt to gain insight on their prospects for the season ahead.

Tipped for the drop by many last time out, the Hornets were quick out the traps and racked up eight wins and five draws in the first 18 Gameweeks. Although Flores’ side failed to maintain momentum over the rest of the season and managed just four victories and as many draws in the final 20 matches, they were never in danger of relegation and ended in thirteenth spot, eight points clear of the bottom three.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

Pretty sure Jagielka is captain, and cause he is ageing, maybe past his best, Oviedo knocking on the door, he started today too.

      Baines if he's on pens
Coleman if he's not on pens

Francis. I fancy him for this season. His stats from last season don't do him justice cos he had to play CB so much. Playing RB all season he should get a lot of chances for assists. Plus with the defensive signings they've made, he could improve on his cleansheet from last year. Plus if you're playing him in a rotation anyway....it's all good

Been thinking all day about getting Firmino into my team... but their first 5 fixtures are just rancid.

I'm not bothered about the aways - he got more goals and more assists on the road than st home last season.

But Arsenal, Spurs, Chelsea and Leicester... basically 4 of the top 6 defences. Just seems too much.

    What's everyone thinking?

    Ok I've messed around a bit. 3 5 2 got some nice buzz, so here is a stronger bench in a 3 4 3...

    DeGea
    Williams. Moreno. Stones
    Silva. Fabregas. Mahrez. Mkhiratryan
    Aguero. Benteke. Negredo

    Jakupovic. Leko. McAuley. Lenihan

Are any Everton players worth considering?

Not sure about Lukaku atm - may be a bit tired and is not training atm.
Barkley looks good but is not on set pieces.

    Baines? Delu?

Wondered if anyone would care to "rate my template"

    GK:
    4.5 / 4
    (Now Foster, Jaku)

    Defence:
    5.5 / 5 / 4.5 / 4.5 / 4
(Now: Shaw, GJohnson, Evans, Friend, Wilson)

    Midfield;
    1x super premium (10+}
    (now KDB)
    1x premium (8.5-9.5)
    (now Mahrez)
    1x mid-range (6.5-8)
    (now Ayew)
    1x budget (5-6)
    (now Adomah)
    1x 4.5
    (now Capouet)

    Forwards:
    1x Aguero.
    1x premium (9-11.5)
    (Now Kane)
    1x mid-range (6-8.5)
    (now Gray)

Struggling a little with that 5.0 defender if I'm honest - wanted it for flexibility bit might just do 4.5 and pop the 0.5 in the bank

I get the money the money in football... I do.

However, £78M for Higuian at 28 is ridiculous. He WILL continue to score goals in Seria A - but he won't win the CL for Juve.

Poor business by Juve, completely driven by Pogba cash.

I understand the appeal of buying a rivals star player, with him scoring 36 in 35, and the loss of Morata.

But as you said, he's 28 (29 in December), and he'll probably have 3-4 season left at max level.

I think the purchase of him, Pjanic and Benatia will be enough to dominate Serie A, but I don't think he's what they need to win a CL title. Juve have been pretty good with their transfers in the last years, but I think they're overpaying

remy should def leave, suprised he hasn't gone already

conte says he wants 5 more players and I think a striker will be part of this. Morata and lukaku were names the press were talking about.

I think they def need an extra body in that spot anyway because as good as bats is he doesn't have much experience

Yup. If Bats doesn't deliver there's no way we can play 4-4-2 now unless Conte plays Hazard or even Pedro up front off Costa in some weird way.
