Our Rate My Team tool and the associated Projections enjoyed an extensive update overnight as we applied tweaked player appearance probabilities based on the pre-season matches.

Further updates are planned today once Andre Ayew is moved to the West Ham squad and Paul Pogba arrives in the game.

We will also be updating the team attack and defence ratings based on the current bookmaker market trends.

Indeed, both Rate My Team and the Projections are likely to be tweaked on a daily basis as further team news breaks over the week. If you’re using these tools, be sure to check back each day to see how the changes reflect on your current selections.

If you’re not using these tools and are wondering how they can help you, we’ve got an FAQ on both of them here.

Meanwhile, late last week we created an updated movie previewing both Rate My Team and the Projections.

These tools are accessible as part of the Fantasy Football Scout Membership. This is currently available for the pre-season price of £12.50 (RRP £15.00).

Users with free accounts can upgrade via this link, while new users can register as members here.

With all this late pre season transfer activity finalising defences in particular is not straightforward but this also impacts on the rest of the squad. For the last couple of weeks I have uncluded in my back line Williams & Kone but late moves could possibly not mean them starting at the weekend. Would you stick or twist ( the other 3 are J Evans , Friend & Stones , the latter also being a bit risky ).
    Thanks.

Not too sure about a Liverpool CB. Some tricky games in the opening 4 fixtures. Would a wingback not be better? Moreno (if you want Liverpool cover) PVA?

      1. Sigga -Cardiff City-
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

        Thanks for the response,
I think Lovren is the only nailed Lpool defender, Moreno and Milner spliting minutes and the reason i want him is I probably only play him 3 of his first 5 but from then on he plays 8 of the next 9 preferably protecting me from an early wildcard. I also just love Klopp. PVA has nice attacking threat but I don't believe in Sunderland. maybe Williams at everton? but i'm not certain about that mess...

    2. Bullet Eder
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 8 months ago

Wouldn't have Lovren. Better options at same price.

Doubling up on who you believe to be the top teams is not the best strategy.

      I learned the hard way.

      1. Sigga -Cardiff City-
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

yeah it's a more ambitious pick, considering he hasn't registered an attacking stat in the prem league in 2 seasons, but I think that's a bit of an aberration.

Yeah, it can be dangerous, A) if i'm wrong. B) if i pick the wrong talent on those sides

but in the end the teams that do well need to win games by scoring more goals than their opposition each week, I have 1 attacker and 1 defender from each so theoretically I'm covered either way (i.e 1-0 or 5-4 lol )

    3. Wimmer winner chicken dinne…
      • 10 Years
      9 years, 8 months ago

Pricing looks good to me, not sure about Lovren at the back, Klopp is going to be attacking and the fixtures aren't that great, but I understand there aren't that many better options at 5 - maybe Morgan, perhaps downgrade to Kone as he rotates well currently with Evans and Friend and may turn into a 5m Everton defender with good fixtures after gw1.

Be wary of Deulofeu if Bolasie moves, but he's in form and worth a punt. Feghouli looks exciting, but again could easily be rotated out once payet, lanzini and ayew come in - possibly a bit risky having two mids who could find themselves not quite nailed on.

I'd feel a little nervous with no Spurs cover, but your only choice would be going Eriksen/Ali over Firmino otherwise you run the same risk with Lamela nailed-on-ness.

      1. Sigga -Cardiff City-
        • 14 Years
        9 years, 8 months ago

Yeah, Lovren seems to be the player I've been coping the most questions for. You really do put forward a good arguement for me to get rid of him; he's certainly less safe in my squad now than he was before the post. However I just don't want to be locked into transfers come week 5 or 6 and having to shift my early "strong fixture" players for others. When i'll have 8 or 9 players playing early fixtures already and let's be honest we're all playing for the very top spot so my theory is to try and nail the picks early and still have wriggle room later on. If i get it wrong i get it wrong but with Lovren i feel it's a swing for the fences and committing to my early fixture strong players (I.E friend and evans... even Valencia to an extent)

Yeah they are very punty, as is Carroll with Ayew signed and potential injuries but I can allow myself a few all it takes is 2 of them to hit and i'm off to a flyer and I realize Wham first fixture will make that difficult but again it's about making myself different to the other sides in a postive aggressive... the flip side is i might be blind to the dangers. I do see Bolasie as huge threat however he's more a left mid which is mirallas' spot atm so whilst it would cause issues as it adds another good player to their wing rotations i'd not be sold on it being entirely smashing him, particularly given Gery's pre season form.

I am very nervous, but I only really want eriksen or Kane and they just seem sooo expensive comparitive to what else I can get for the same (Firmino) in mids or for .5 more up front (Z)

It's not the £50M price tag that guarantees his starting role but the presence of an awful CB like Mangala and an average one like Otamendi.

Gabriel injured, Per injured, Koscielny just returned for pre-season. Chambers and Holding the only fit CBs. Target Mustafi has a buy-out clause of €42m.

So, what does Wenger do? Negotiates. Offers €30m. Procrastinates. Enquires about Evans. Waits.

I am SO glad I'm not an Arsenal fan. I don't believe I could bear it.

Funny thing is, when CBs are thrown in like this, i.e. when they are not competing for a place, they HAVE to play, sometimes it takes the nervousness away and they can play freely.

I will be interested to see how Chambers and Holding do.

      BTW I support arsenal.....
