Our Rate My Team tool and the associated Projections enjoyed an extensive update overnight as we applied tweaked player appearance probabilities based on the pre-season matches.

Further updates are planned today once Andre Ayew is moved to the West Ham squad and Paul Pogba arrives in the game.

We will also be updating the team attack and defence ratings based on the current bookmaker market trends.

Indeed, both Rate My Team and the Projections are likely to be tweaked on a daily basis as further team news breaks over the week. If you’re using these tools, be sure to check back each day to see how the changes reflect on your current selections.

      was just looking at their CB's, think he will start given injury doubt on Kompany and Mangala seemingly heading for the exit. I had planned to avoid City defence like the plague but you can't turn down a guy who is 5.0 and nailed on can you? i wouldn't be surprised to see Pep use him as a holding midfielder either, we know from his time at Bayern he likes to mix up the way his team plays so may be a potential OOP prospect as well.

    Why are more people not starting with Mahrez and Vardy? hul, ARS, SWA first 3 games.
    If Mahrez doesn't look good GW1 he can easily be transferred to Payet/Firmino who have great fixtures in week 2. Or even Ozil.

    I can sort of see why people are choosing Kane over Vardy cos he's a good GW2 captain but Mahrez GW1 seems too good to ignore

      Too expensive to fit into my midfield. As good as the first fixture is.

      Mahrez was so off the pace in Community shield. Weak, lost the ball frequently and didn't create much. Vardy is the better option to begin with. Mahrez is either slightly rusty or haunted by the pressure of outperforming himself last season

      Their first 3 fixtures are very good, they are the Champions, I'm sure they will look to play up to that role.

      Hull are in trouble,

      i think Paredes is a mistake. if you are going to have a 4.0 defender who probably won't
      play, get one with low ownership. if Paredes doesn't play, he could lose value quickly.

    What makes this page so great is you can set filters at the top. I set it to focus on the first 3 GWs and then restrict the price/position for what I needed. Useful tool if you give weighting to stats/betting odds (what the tool is based on)

        I wasn't sold on Ibra originally I must admit Timbo, the scouts article on him and his ownership has inevitably led me down that path. Always tend to get an average start at best so trying to roll with the masses a bit to begin with

      Not sure on fischer. New to premier league. Newly promoted team. Dutch players can find the transition tough (depay the latest casualty).

      Think I'd rather Redmond and Lamela instead of Fischer and Tadic.

    i am thinking to drop wickham after gw1 or later and take hernandez from hull because i like that guy.

      -id probably go one man u defender and go a different 5.5
      -dont think mahrez will do anything near what he did last year, his stats and conversion rate was crazy. but like you said he could get off to a great start. id go hazy from the off.
      -id find a way to upgrade wickham to a 6.5

    Do we know the likely order of CHE penalty takers?

    It seems Oscar is ahead of Hazard given he took one with both on the pitch recently, however both Costa and Fabregas were off the pitch at the time, so it's unclear to me whether either would take over from Oscar?

    Can I ask has anyone had any season long success going uber in defence - say 5 x 4.5 guys and 8.5 keeper rotation?

    With all the decent mid-priced mids I'm thinking of a stellar front 3 of 10M plus....

      Hi Soze, I tried to do it last season. I can't remember which teams I used except that it did not have watford. My players were nailed but I think I got about 2 CS in the first 5 weeks and it totally destroyed me. This was so that I could afford to start Hazard, Kun, Kane, Sanchez etc all in one team - and none of them fired early!
      My advice would be to spread the risk. I am sure this strategy would have worked better had I chosen a watford player so it really is high risk high reward and was unlucky that the big guns didn't fire early - but who is to say this season is any different. After choosing one nailed defender (it was Bellerin) on a WC, my team fired up the rankings. Think if you desperately want to cheap out, pick 2 x 5.0, 2 x 4.5 and 1x 4.0 instead of 5x 4.5. Only a little bit more in price, but surely you get more than 2 CS in the first 5 weeks!!

        I have Valencia but he only appears nailed on because Darmian was given time off after the Euros. MU defence is a minefield imo, i don't want DDG due to high ownership but may be the way to go. for me, it's a toss up as to who is more nailed on, MU defenders (Valencia, Shaw, Bailly) or Terry. I'd like to think JT will play at least the first 4 games
