Spare a thought for Mike Phelan.

Already the Hull City caretaker manager seems to be unfurling the white flag, even before Jamie Vardy and Riyad Mahrez get their first run at his patched-up defence.

The first Dugout Discussion of the Premier League season could witness one of the most one-sided opening fixtures in memory.

Champions Leicester turn up at the KCOM Stadium off the back of the FA Community Shield defeat to Manchester United but surely still brimming with confidence and optimism following the triumphant campaign.

Certainly they bring plenty of talent and pace – heightened by the presence of Ahmed Musa and Demarai Gray on their teamsheet. That might just prove too much, even for a spirited Hull City showing.

Stranger things have happened, though. Just ask Claudio Ranieri.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    This might actually be good news for Vardy and Musa owners. Mahrez owners have -1 so same can't be said but Leicester need to come out fighting. It's going to be an onslaught.

    After this first half I have taken note of two things, one of them most likely being wrong:
    1) Leicester look no where near as good as they were last season.
    2) Hull City may not be a walk over that everyone thought they would be.

    There it is. FPL season 2016/17 will be minus one veteran. I stayed strong. I am proud of myself. Feel like I gave up in smoking/gambling/drug even.
