We were dressed for success, but success it never comes.

Suited and booted, we crown the new season riding a wave of giddy optimism. The positivity flows on the eve of a new campaign which, on paper, looks destined to be one of the best in memory.

Granville makes a belated return to ScoutCast action to join Jonty, Andy and myself as we start to sift the seemingly endless array of options open to us on the new season player list.

It’s bewildering stuff but, guided by you, the community, we attempt to navigate all your pre-season questions before laying our own cards on the table.

It’s amazing to be back amongst it again. Let’s just hope the smiles stay as wide for the next episode.

    Seeing a lot of GW1 teams on here that have built in transfers already for GW2. Very risky tactics in my opinion - been there before in early season and it never seems to pan out like that.

    I think it is better to pick a team you are happy with for at least the first 3 weeks and deal with any injuries or non selection accordingly.

    My advice for what it's worth.

    Prepare yourself for the most horrible squad you've ever seen! Trust me, you'll hate this! I've poured over every RMT, analysed the template teams, read every piece of advice here - and thrown it all out the window.

    I do have my reasons: I'm focusing mainly on a weekly money league and if I win once every 3-4 weeks and bomb the others, I'm quids in. Right, get this:

        Ha ha, told you!

        I don't want a template where every week I'm eith 1 point above or below the winning line. It's all-or-nothing each week.

        And I think Drinkie is good value - for all the focus on Mahrez, it's Danny who plays half the through-balls for Vardy to run onto and now he's got Musa to pick out as well. The man's an under-rated assist machine (on FFS I mean, he has high ownership outside here).

        And BB - yeh, they're all starters and it'll give me the psychological edge over my competitors if it comes off.

        You're missing the point. I only need to win once in 8 GWs in my $5/week league to make a profit. I think I'll do it once in 3-4 weeks.

        Oh and I'm confident Feggers will start. He'll come under pressure from Lanzini and Tore when they're fit, but not yet.
