Gameweek 1 concludes at the Bridge, as Chelsea boss Antonio Conte becomes the final new manager to make his Premier League bow.

His opening task is far from straightforward. West Ham United arrive as opposition boasting one of the finest away records in the league under Slaven Bilic last season.

That included a 2-2 draw in the corresponding fixture, where goals from Manuel Lanzini and Andy Carroll earned the Hammers a point.

While Lanzini sits out tonight’s match through injury, Carroll is in the starting line-up although Dimitri Payet can only make the bench.

The Frenchman could yet see action and will surely post the biggest threat to Conte’s rearguard once on the pitch. His 28% ownership will certainly be desperate for him to make an appearance.

Chelsea have their own gamechanger in Eden Hazard. The Belgian starts for the Blues as he auditions for the heavy-hitter midfield role in our squads.

There’s no shortage of talent on show. We can only hope that translates to points and a Monday night spectacle.

I miss being able to see the full line-ups on the FPL site. Have to go to separate websites to check teams which takes traffic away from the site - surely they want as many users as possible?!

It was always there (until now) I think. In the GW scores (under your team) you could expand each match and get the full line-ups and all associated stats for the players.

Unlike tonight, where I had to leave the site and go to the BBC website to see if Feghouli was on the bench, when Ayew came off etc.

Consideing doing Tadic to Coutinho for a free, to catch the rise. Thoughts? Really unsure. Rate Tadic highly, so will likely be looking to get him back in soon.

Any transfers at this stage is knee jerk. It's just one game, not a true representation of form.

Better to have 2 FT next week. For all we know, Aguero will pull his hammy tomorrrow.

The refs are protected enough as it is. Absolutely no repercussions for awful decision. How many times have we sen absolutely abysmal refereeing ruin matches over the years? If anything they should have to give interviews post match and explain themselves and why they made their decisions.

The quality of refereeing is a separate issue to how they're treated by the players. I'm absolutely amazed anyone can even question the rule!

Sorry they're not under the threat of violence, there is no reason why their decisions should be swayed by players, the rule is ridiculous. It always has and always will be in their power to make the decision, there's no reason to 'protect' the poor referees. Maybe they should have a packet of kleenex's along with the spray to wipe away the tears?

Grasstroots football is in crisis, cant get refs because of the total utter disrepect shown to them just like in the PL.
You cant play the game without them.

Why should they give up their time to be the butt of your abuse & aggression.

Should be straight red for aggression or swearing at the ref at all levels of the game

The rules (correct me if i'm wrong) state that if more than one player from a team surrounds a player, or runs a great distance to question the ref they can be carded. (in that last case what if your captain is far away when an incident happens? are they not allowed to question the ref?)

        Stick with your original plan.
I'm doing Vardy -> Ibra, even though I'm afraid of Vardy going mental in GW2.

I think it's smart to be flexible, actually. I considered the same transfer and then I watched Vardy just miss out on two goals and Arsenal look horrendous defensively.

          1. FPL Puppy
            • 10 Years
            9 years, 8 months ago

Of course. But I don't always believe that the fixtures will be a reflection on how the score result will be. Everyone was convinced that Leicester would walk right over Hull, but instead they got smashed.
Arsenal can't possibly accept another huge defeat and they will make sure not to be as leaky in the back. Although, if Kosc is still injured and they don't sign a new CB, then it's going to be a very interesting game. 🙂
I'm not pulling the trigger just yet, but I still think I will stick to my plan. Mostly because I like watching Zlatan play and it feels better to have him in your team - especially with his high ownership.

So the standard questions tonight for many:
Gray> Negredo (to catch rise, might get 0.3 by weekend) - great fixtures and Burnley look cr@p
Firmino > Coutinho - stats equal,Cout cheaper and rising, but chasing last weeks points?

      What's the consensus?

Do t chase points. It's very tempting we've all been without our beloved FF for a whole summer and it's got us changing out moods like it's that time of the month.

Give it 2/3 games. I have Tadic, Firmino and Ayew - it's a season not a month. Class players will deliver. Stick! Back the team you first picked.
Ps. 67 points. Ayew out if Injured.

Best to wild card with a score like that, otherwise you'll tank.

What should I do? Worst start ever.
Ayew who is injuried. And Watson who is suspended. 0 ITB.

          Forster. Jak
          Friend. Williams. Amat. Souare. Valencia.
          Ayew. Watson. Hazard. Eriksen. Tadic.
          Aguero. Vardy. Carroll.

Hold this week? And play four at the back?

Standard Diego Costa, shouldn't have been on the pitch to score the winner! 😀

Keep. He could have had an assist last week and could still be dangerous - even if his touch is a bit sloppy.

          Quick question lads

          Mahrez + Fischer > Coutinho + Lamela? -4

          Cheers

68 with Hazard/ Costa BPS to go

Defence let me down big time but definitely a good position to be in for next week, even those that blanked look dangerous.

            Let's be having ya!

64 points for the week ain't that good afterall
did ibra + lamela to musa + sanchez 2 hours before the deadline
            78 would have been outstanding
The question though should i stick with sanchez or get the 2 guys from the initial draft back?

Hold on to Mkhtaryan? or sell for the likes of someone like Hazard/Coutinho?
