Sadio Mane goes into Liverpool’s trip to Burnley as a doubt following a shoulder injury in training. Arsene Wenger will be without both Aaron Ramsey and Alex Iwobi for the trip to Leicester City, while Mark Hughes confirms that Jack Butland won’t be risked against Manchester City. Here’s a summary of the known teams news so far…

Ryan Bertrand remainssidelined for Southampton’s trip to Old Trafford this evening due to an ongoing knee complaint. Claude Puel has confirmed that Jose Fonte is in contention to start after stepping up his fitness in training this week.

Aaron Ramsey (hamstring) and Alex Iwobi (thigh) have been ruled out until after the international break after they were forced off injured against Liverpool last weekend. Arsene Wenger has conceded he may have to gamble on the fitness of Laurent Koscielny, Mesut Ozil and Olivier Giroud, though won’t start all three. The Gunners boss revealed that Koscielny is the likeliest of the trio to feature in his first XI.

Eddie Howe has confirmed he has “no major concerns” on the injury front as Bournemouth make their way to West Ham on Sunday.

Club record signing Steven Defour could be in line for a start at home to Liverpool, reckons Sean Dyche. Ashley Barnes remains sidelined due to a hamstring injury, whilst the on-loan Jon Flanagan cannot face his parent club.

Mark Hughes has this morning ruled Jack Butland out of a return against Manchester City, whilst Glen Johnson also remains sidelined with a thigh complaint. Shaqiri is also a concern after suffeirng a calf problem in the 1-1- draw with Middlesbrough on the opening day.

Alan Pardew has also updated us this morning with news that both Joe Ledley and Wayne Hennessey are “fitness concerns” ahead of the trip to White Hart Lane. The Eagles boss also indicated that Yohan Cabaye, Jordon Mutch, and James McArthur would likely travel having missed the season opener with West Brom.

Chris Smalling and Paul Pogba are back in contention after serving out one-match suspensions, though Jose Mourinho has admitted that the latter is unable to play 90 minutes due to a lack of match fitness. Jesse Lingard is also available after recovering from a foot problem.

Hugo Lloris is sidelined with a hamstring injury as Spurs welcome Palace to the Lane. Mousa Dembele sits out the fourth of a six-match ban, whilst Heung Min Son has returned from the Olympics and will be assessed.

Sadio Mane remains doubtful for Liverpool’s trip to Burnley with a shoulder injury sustained in training. James Milner and Daniel Sturridge are back in full training, whilst Lucas also has a chance of making it. Mamadou Sakho has stepped up his recovery but is expected to miss out again.

Ronald Koeman will make a late decision on Romelu Lukaku and Ashley Williams’ fitness for Everton’s trip to the Hawthorns. The Belgian returned to full training yesterday without any problems, whilst Williams has stepped up his match fitness over the past week. Seamus Coleman remains absent, though Yannick Bolasie is in line for a debut.

Swansea’s record signing Borja Baston is sidelined with a minor thigh problem. Neil Taylor is likely to miss out again as he builds up his fitness, whilst Leon Britton (illness) is doubtful. Ki Sung-yeung is back in contention to face Hull, with Francesco Guidolin hinting at a start for Gylfi Sigurdsson.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Let's try again as it seems only 'pick A or B' options get replies.

Is it more scary this weekend to not own:
      A) Vardy
      B) Zlatan

Well if that's the case I'm screwed in my below post

        Zlatan

        B.

I just transferred Zlatan out for Rooney, I know have a much prettier team but I'll be watching behind the sofa tonight 🙂

B because of ownership. Both have potential to score.

      Rooney or Zlatan...think about it.

I think it may be unwise to bet against Rooney, he's United's captain and when he's being criticized he can often produce. Are we really expecting Zlatan to outscore Rooney by so much over the season to justify the 2.5 million price difference?

        He's awful
But from a fantasy perspective zlatan will outscore him. 50-60 points mabye

Rooney awful? Oh, ome on - the last couple of season the whole of the Man U team has been shackled to the point only De Gea was worth having.

These times, they are a changin'

Sorry but I watch roo week in week out and he's awful. No first touch, no speed, can barely short pass. As a utd fan I feel he holds us back. Great servant but his time has passed

Yes, coz he is like 3 lvls above Rooney!
Everybody likes quality but wants to pay peanuts, it's exactly the same when it comes to Zlatan/Rooney.
You get what you have paid for!
And I would be surprise at all if Zlatan will be on PKs

Rooney had his worst season in 12 years last year scoring only 8 gosls and a number of those from the penalty spot. Plus this was the man who told LvG last year he would score over 25 gosls. So he set himself that benchmark but couldn't deliver. Benteke outscored him, Defoe double his goals and Mata wasn't far off and Martial outscored him. Absolutely not the player he was.

I'd go with Philips - Utd looked solid at the back against bournemouth (even though they conceded) and they are at home tonight so hard to see southampton having too much forward play

If you got him out on time Barkley could have a great move as they have great run of fixtures. If youve already used your free transfer prob worth waiting till next week.

Arsenal's horrible defensive performance WILL be improved by:
      - Koscielny's return
      - getting their inevitable poor opening game out of the way
      - almost always bouncing back from a loss to restore faith in that 4th place finish

Is it worth holding on to Vardy + Mahrez for the Arsenal game given that their next fixture is SWA?

LOVE these Official FPL videos with Mark spoon-feeding the masses.

Just kidding. It undoes all of our handwork vs the casuals. I'll be watching them, just so I can work out how to deviate from the Mark-inspired template.

      Aguero (c) Gray
