Michail Antonio shifts forward and provides the decisive finish as West Ham celebrate their London Stadium bow with a hard-fought victory. Earlier in the day, Alvaro Negredo’s qualtiy and Cristhian Stuani’s finishing combined to earn Middlesbrough three points on Wearside. Here’s the Stock Check after Sunday’s matches…

On the Rise

Alvaro Negredo
A goal in Gameweek 1, followed by two classy assists today. Negredo appears to be reveling in his lone striker role for Middlesbrough and his intelligence and awareness looks very effective in combination with the likes of Gaston Ramirez and Stewart Downing as creators. Negredo sits third in the FPL rankings – only Sergio Aguero and Zlatan Ibrahimovic have started stronger. Further transfer traffic is heading his way.

Cristhian Stuani
It’s a long shot but we have to mention the Uruguayan following his two goals. Brought in to replace Albert Adomah as part of Aitor Karanka expected rotation on the flanks, he reacted by seizing his opportunity in style. It remains to be seen if Stuani can retain a starting role – even as a 4.9 forward, his appeal would seem limited.

Patrick van Aanholt
More goals and more attempts than any other defender last season, the flying Dutchman has already opened his account for 2016/17. While David Moyes’ defence ha been unsettled by injury and departures, Van Aanholt still provides a tempting proposition given his attacking prowess and Sunderland’s fixtures. The Black Cats welcome Everton, Palace and West Brom to Wearside over the next five Gameweeks.

Michail Antonio
Has Eden Hazard done Fantasy managers a huge favour? After enduring a torrid evening at the hands of the Belgian at Stamford Bridge last Monday, Antonio was shifted onto the flank for today’s home clash with Bournemouth. Considering the injury situation in attack, Slaven Bilic will surely now look to keep Antonio in an attacking role after the former Nottingham Forest man headed home the match-winner. If he can keep his place and that position beyond the Gameweek 3 trip to City, Antonio would certainly be back on our radar as a true alternative to Dimitri Payet.

James Collins
A goal against Chelsea, followed up by a solid rearguard display against the Cherries, looks to have kept the Welshman ahead of Angelo Ogbonna in the West Ham defence. At 4.5, he’s got some very decent upcoming fixtures after next week’s trip to City has passed. We’re currently favouring Winston Reid for his security of starts but Collins may just usurp him heading into that run of matches.

In Decline

Dimitri Payet
Slaven Bilic has played down the severity of the Frenchman’s injury but, with a trip to City up next, Payet’s 25% owners aren’t hanging about. Over 36,000 have parted company already this week, more than any midfielder – with the international break to follow Gameweek 3, a failure to feature at the Etihad could see the exodus snowball.

Andy Carroll
With Andre Ayew ruled out for months, the Hammers target man seemed nailed on up front for the foreseeable future. Yet again, though, Carroll faces a spell on the sidelines after succumbing to a knee injury – given his treatment room history, we should have known that price of 6.5 was too good to be true.

Callum Wilson
The Cherries striker looked a shadow of the player that scored a hat-trick away to the Hammers just 12 months ago. Hauled off for the second match in succession, Wilson has managed just two attempts on goal in the first couple of Gameweeks. Eddie Howe’s side will struggle if they fail to get him firing.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

If I do this WC, is Lukaku worth the hit in the midfield? Or do I stick with Gray and play Hazard instead of Mirallas and Morgan over Shaw?

    Foster (Jaku) ----> Foster (Jaku)
    Baines/ Van Dijk/ Friend (Roberston/ Paredes) ----> Shaw/ Friend/ McAuley (Robertson/ Amat)
    Firmino/ Tadic/ Siggurdsson/ Eriksen (Gradel) ----> Firmino/ Tadic/ Lamela/ Mirallas (Hojberg)
    Aguero/ Gray/ Vardy ----> Aguero/ Ibra/ Lukaku

    2 Free transfers available

    Feghouli for Ramirez
    Fischer for Wanyama

    Advise please? Current team below:

    Heaton (Jakupovic)

Fuchs - Valencia - Targett (Amat) (Friend)

Mahrez - Hazard - Redmond - Fischer (Feghouli)

    Gray - Aguero - Imbrahimovic

Consider downgrading Mahrez and improving on Ramirez/Wanyama as a transfer in? Keep Fisch or Ferg as 5th essentially non-playing mid?

You are right! I have swapped Fischer for Ramirez and Feghouli for Capoue. Now I have to hope Capoue is back soon!

So GW 3 team is now, not sure who to play in defense though?

        Heaton (Jakupovic)

Friend- Valencia - Targett (Amat) (Fuchs)

Mahrez - Hazard - Redmond - Ramirez (Capoue)

        Gray - Aguero - Imbrahimovic

There's a lot of Barkley love. It's worth noting that Everton lack pace going forward. Koeman has brought in Bolasie to be the Everton equivalent of Mané in his preferred style of play. Lukaku to play a similar role to Pelle.

I'd expect Bolasie to be making runs in from the right flank beyond Lukaku when Mirallas is in the side (on the left) and has the flexibility to operate on the left when Deulofeu or Lennon get the nod.

Barkley is likely to be the most advanced of the central midfield 3. I'm just not sure how far advanced.

£7.5m seems pricey when £6.5m gets you the perfectly selfish fantasy player in Mirallas, or £6m for Bolasie.

Personally, I've gone Bolasie as a makeweight to get Ibrahimovic. He's a great punt for his Goodison debut next weekend and has the fixtures after Stoke too.

He's not proven from a goal scoring perspective, but clearly Pardew rated him and he has a certain flair which you cannot coach. At 27 he should be approaching his peak now and I'm backing him to score and assist more with better players around him.

If he started at Everton, I think FPL wouldve priced him at 6.5-7m.

All this talk about just how great this Olympics have been , I think they're papering over the cracks of the half empty stadiums , at best , at any event I caught

Na. It was just that the Olympics were highly controversial in Brazil. Economic burden, with a large drain of resources, in a place where basic neccesities are not provided to a large portion of the population.

I agree, about the half empty stadiums.
      Pretty shocking.

Typical FFS discussion over simplifies the issues.

Economic issues in the country more broadly - many felt that the Olympics was taking from funds for vital public services. This was a pretty fair criticism and many stayed away.
Ticket prices - Asking people to pay more than a month's salary for a ticket is ludicrous
No coordination of school groups to fill spaces - and by the time this was considered, most schools were on holiday.
Under investment in infrastructure - the travel network for the Olympic venues was incomplete meaning some venues required long walks in midday heat.

Beat the Popular % FPL Team"

A quick update on how things progressed after GW1
    Safety score then being 45
Captain and vice captain decided by FFS captain poll
Around 400 made it into GW2

This is the formidable squad to beat in GW2

    De Gea 46.3%

    Stones 36.0% Bellerin 28.3% Morgan 24.7% Paredes 16.9%

    Mahrez 29.0% Payet 26.5% Kante 24.9% Coutinho 28.7%

    Aguero 47.2& (c) Ibrahimovic 45.5% (vc)

    Subs
    Jaku 16.1% Fletcher 14.9% Amat 11.6% Grabban 4.4%

    League Code 120206-79052

Looks like a very large number of managers will be eliminated this GW with the current safety score being a hefty 71 points !

    GOOD LUCK

I've spent far too long in previous seasons not backing the obvious players: Ramsey, Yaya, Mahrez etc.

      Don't make that same mistake.

That's the same with me I end up joining a bandwagon so late when the damage has been already done, I've got aguero though, just feeling hull will sit back and absorb the pressure

I got on the Ibra express this week.

I'd rather be right and have him, than wrong without.

Nope. Kane out, Ibra in for me, he's hit the ground running and if i don't get him now worried about falling either further behind rivals.

Really torn. His stats are not good but when he scores two and 50% of people have him it is not worth it. If he does start really firing he will be harder to get when he rises to close to 12m. Still want to back Kane against Liverpool, but not sure I can afford to stay off the Ibra Wagon.

He's given me such a selection headache I have Costa instead of Kane. But what do you mean it's not worth it when 50% of people have him?

It's not worth it in that 50% of people got 13 (or 26 captain) points that I didn't get this weekend. If he scores big it really hurts because his ownership is so high. Might be better to get him just to match the majority early on and hope the rest of my team can do the business. Still not convinced by his stats. However, if he rises much more he becomes much more difficult to get in.

    1) Carroll for Rondon (no hit)
    2) Carroll and Deulofeu for Negredo and Bojan (minus 4)

Lol don't panic, he won't. Just because people are jumping on him (too) early here doesn't mean that the masses will transfer him in before he actually scores.

Good. I have been planning Vardy to Benteke GW4 for a while, don't think he will be ready this weekend.

But Tadic and Vardy both dropping ruined my plans, now I have punted on Negredo in the hope he rises twice and gains me the 0.1 I need before Benteke rises once.

2 FTs and unsure where to address first! Any help would be greatly appreciated!

    Heaton / Jaku

    Shaw / Stones / Friend / Amat / Kone*

    Hazard / Lamela / Townsend / Gaston* / Leko*

    Kun / Ibra / Vardy*

None to play with at the moment! Slightly conference with Kone until the window is shut and with Gaston being hauled off! Vardy's form is a worry especially if it results in further drops!

As you already have Ibra and Aguero, I think you can afford to see how Vardy gets on against Swans.

The only argument is that there isn't many options in the 5.5/4.5 price points, so that means an upgrade to Gaston might be tough.

If you fancy getting interesting, Vardy --> Costa and Gaston --> Bolasie could be fun.

I like the sound of that but I'm 0.1 short of making that at the moment! Definitely thinking of getting some Everton cover in though! Do you reckon Bolasie is their best option?

    Worth wildcarding this lot?

    Foster Jaku
    Stones Friend Wollscheid Kone Valencia
    Firmino Mahrez Silva Hazard Fletcher
    Aguero Carroll Gray

Currently have 2 FTs, but I feel that there is so much that needs to be taken care of. Opinions?

      Defence looks fine

Firmino mahrez and silva all definitely questionable. I feel like Ibra and Kun up top is becoming more and more needed - that strike force will struggle to keep up with that.

      I'd consider it

      1. Cadenza

Ok. I might just do Mahrez, Silva and Carroll to Ibra, Lamela and Redmond for -4. Worth it?

    2. VS10_
      • 10 Years

You could take a -4, something like Carroll to Zlatan and then downgrading two of Firmino/Mahrez/Silva to fund it.

Eriksen looked really poor. I would get rid of him. He lost half of set pieces to Lamela and Janssen playing up front has consequencies to both Alli and Eriksen.

Townsend as I needed money to get Ibra... but I think Lamela for 7 million is a good call. You may bring in one of Everton mids also, but it is hard to say who ( Barkley, Miralas or Bolasie even)

I haven't seen Bolasie playing so I don't know if it is good move for now, but Everton wouldn't pay 28 millions for a guy to be rotated. The question is... Is he going to be more effective than in CPL?
I would wait with Bolasie to see If he's worth
