Suspensions

The FA have this afternoon charged Sergio Aguero with alleged violent conduct following his altercation with Winston Reid in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham at the Etihad last weekend.

City’s top scorer now has until 6pm tomorrow to contest the charge and, if found guilty, is set to serve a three-match domestic ban.

He would sit out the Gameweek 4 and 5 encounters against United and Bournemouth, as well as City’s EFL Cup trip to Swansea on September 20.

Aguero would then be available for the Gameweek 6 visit to the Liberty four days later.

Given the nature of the altercation, Aguero’s flailing arm gives him little hope of avoiding suspension.

Owned by over 52% of Fantasy Premier League managers, he’s already suffered significant sales after withdrawing from Argentina duties with a calf problem.

Should confirmation come tomorrow, the exodus will kick into overdrive as we look to spend the budget freed up by his departure from our squads.

For the 43.2% who don’t yet own him, Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers an easy swap for those who are seeking a place-holder for the City striker.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa looks reinvigorated under Antonio Conte and, along with Wayne Rooney, is one of only two forwards to produce returns in each of the first three Gameweeks.

The Aguero news comes at a time where Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez served a reminder of their big-hitter potential in midfield with double-figure weekend returns.

Whilst the temptation to invest the Aguero funds heavily in midfield is strong, keeping the door open for an easy return looks a wise move given his form under Pep Guardiola.

    Foster - Heaton
    Valencia - McAuley - Evans - Amat - Kingsley
    Hazard - Ozil - Cazorla - Barkley - Capoue
    Ibrahimovic - Costa - Negredo

      7/10

With someone else instead of Cazorla, 8 or 9/10, depends on who you would get.

your prises will rise, question is, if for whole season. i would say 6 players will be on rise whole time, when the others like kingsley or amat will drop at some point (cazorla/ozil injury wont help too)

Redmond or Townsend out for Sanchez?

    1. @persecuted_by_mods
      10 years, 26 days ago

Tough one, Townsend now has Benteke to serve rather than Wickham. Redmond seems a favourite of Puel. I'd keep Redmond but Southampton don't really seem to be playing well with that formation

That's a decent move but just gotta make sure you can easily manoeuvre to get Aguero back. The reason he's worth how much he is because he offers you a viable captaincy pretty much every single week

Deffo has an effect on your mind. The only reason I brought Ibra in after GW2 was that all 9 others in my ML already had him or were going to bring in after that GW. 😀 Just made sense to cover them since I'm confident I can outplay them on other 14 players, but might get rid of Z soon.

Havnt been keen to WC but starting to sway now esp if gray also gets banned...

    Foster --- Jaku**
    valencia stones** friend souare** pieters
    hazard redmond firmino townsend* capoue
    kun* ibra gray*

*players i need to get rid (kun/townsend/most likely gray)
**players i want to get rid (stones, jaku, souare)

initially was thinking townsend + kun >> ozil + kaku (-4) but if gray is also banned, might as well WC?

Well, since I've already used my Wildcard, I'm trying to get rid of Aguero (but will buy him back) so my 1 free transfer will go for him instead.

And I don't see anyone better than Redmond right now for 6M or less.

Explored these sub 6.0 depths myself and all that is there is Redmond, Bolas, Drinkwater and maybe Fer but they it gets into 5th mid territory. At least Nathan is OoP, but for how long...poor fixtures and new signings too... I think he is playing well though, stats show as.

All out midfield on a 3-5-2? (New players in capitals)

    Hazard-Barkley-MANE-STERLING-OZIL
    Zlat-BENTEKE-DIOMANDE

    OR

Less changes and prioritise balance (and likely an easier route back to Kun):

    Hazard-Barkley-Lamela-SANCHEZ-Capoue
    Zlat-LUKAKU-BENTEKE

I am thinking of going the midfield heavy route too, but I have Walcott and Lamela instead of Barkley and Mane. Will probably get Mane after next two GWs. There is more value in midfield I feel. I am fine with going without Aguero, the other City players are beginning to score a lot as well.

Cheers. I think it might be the way to go, and think you could be right about Mane. Might keep Lamela in for the timebeing, and just upgrade 2 of my midfield.

It seems like the best way to have both Ibra and Kun, as well as Hazard and an Arsenal asset, is the cheap 3rd striker

You know his reputation is based on his playing for Aston Villa right?

      Just checking.

Is that a positive or a negative

          Positive.

Jafooli is trying to point out he plays for a dud team. I'm pointing out that it doesn't matter.

Positive I would think. Scored 19 goals with a very poor villa team.

The signing of him will ignite them, look at the second half vs Bournemouth. Haven't seen them play like that since 3/4 into last season

Yeah, don't think much of Pardew, but his teams seem to go on protracted good and bad runs which have little rhyme or reason.

He's proven he can score even on a bad team

Aguero and Kante out for Sanchez and Defoe done for the exact cost. Sanchez cpt , great points potential coming up with those fixtures. Strangely feel quite smug although got nervous wait with the internationals. Worse case scenario I can wc.

He's doing nothing at all. No threat whatsoever.

Should I activate the wildcard now? 0.0 itb so if Sanchez goes up, I can't afford it anymore

    Foster Jaku
    Valencia Baines Bellerin 4.5 Amat
    Hazard Sanchez Lamela Redmond Capoue
    Ibra Lukaku Gray

Bellerin + Ibra to 5.0 + Aguero when he gets back
