Suspensions

The FA have this afternoon charged Sergio Aguero with alleged violent conduct following his altercation with Winston Reid in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham at the Etihad last weekend.

City’s top scorer now has until 6pm tomorrow to contest the charge and, if found guilty, is set to serve a three-match domestic ban.

He would sit out the Gameweek 4 and 5 encounters against United and Bournemouth, as well as City’s EFL Cup trip to Swansea on September 20.

Aguero would then be available for the Gameweek 6 visit to the Liberty four days later.

Given the nature of the altercation, Aguero’s flailing arm gives him little hope of avoiding suspension.

Owned by over 52% of Fantasy Premier League managers, he’s already suffered significant sales after withdrawing from Argentina duties with a calf problem.

Should confirmation come tomorrow, the exodus will kick into overdrive as we look to spend the budget freed up by his departure from our squads.

For the 43.2% who don’t yet own him, Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers an easy swap for those who are seeking a place-holder for the City striker.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa looks reinvigorated under Antonio Conte and, along with Wayne Rooney, is one of only two forwards to produce returns in each of the first three Gameweeks.

The Aguero news comes at a time where Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez served a reminder of their big-hitter potential in midfield with double-figure weekend returns.

Whilst the temptation to invest the Aguero funds heavily in midfield is strong, keeping the door open for an easy return looks a wise move given his form under Pep Guardiola.

Has to be 6, fpl don't undersell good players. The bargains are to be found when a player becomes good rather than already is good. This is a German international

Thoughts on whether this is worth a wildcard:

    Foster - Jak
    Amat - Stones - Valencia - Friend - Kone
    Hazard - Bolasie - Martial - Redmond - Capoue
    Aguero - Ibra - Gray

1 FT and £0.9m ITB. Have to say I'm incredibly tempted to wildcard. Could get a much better squad for next couple of weeks, problem is getting Aguero back in.

    Opinions welcome!

Currently thinking of shipping Tadic and Aguero (no hit). Going to bring Alexis in for Tadic, but who to bring in for Aguero?

    A. Kane
    B. Costa
    C. Lukaku
    D. Vardy
    E Someone else

      Lukaku.

Personally just did Aguero out for zaza to fund two midfield upgrades.

    WC active. How's this looking?

    Foster (Jaku)
    Valencia Williams Evans (Amat 4m)
    Haz Ozil Sterling Lamela Firmino
    Ibra Lukaku (diomande)

    0.2m in bank

Easy 2 transfers back to Kun post ban:

    Lukaku -> Kun
    +
    Sterling/Firmino -> Capoue

That's the only concern. Having to rotate Dio and Capoue eventually. Just can't see any other way to fit the big hitters in. Certainly making it interesting this year with so many options ...

Barkley bandwagon was massive last game week. Now it's Lukaku turn.

I think the biggest decision is this.

To gamble and jump on a few risers, or wait out two weeks to ensure no injuries or other surprises.

I would always recommend waiting one week, but two?

I would jump on the risers and cross your fingers. Have to gamble a little bit in this game to get ahead!

    I've done Kun Lukaku tonight.

Is it worth upgrading either of Martial or Firmino to Sanchez for a -4? Still have WC but don't feel it's necessary to use it.

    Ibra Lukaku Diomande

I think I would do Martial->Sanchez. Did not have a good game vs Hull, and personally I don't think he's worth 9.5. Sanchez is a good captain candidate for 4 of his next 5 games imo

I think Sanchez prospects change slightly with return of Giroud. Wenger loves him. Ozil may be the smarter play here with dominance of set piece.

Yeah that's a good point. I reckon Ozil has a good chance of being better value, but at the same time I'd still not feel as comfortable captaining him as I would with Sanchez. Alexis has a tendency of getting big scores vs bottom half clubs, if I remember correctly from last year

With Aguero banned and Sanchez likely to rise soon please vote and thoughts on the followin...
    A. Firmino and Aguero > Sanchez and Lukaku with 1.5 itb
    B. Townsend and Aguero > Barkley and Perez (If he signs and starts)
    C. Townsend and Aguero > Ozil and Lukaku with 1 itb
    D. Gray and Aguero > Perez and Lukaku with 2 itb
    E. Townsend, Aguero and Stones > Sanchez Lukaku and 4.5 for -4 and 0.1 itb

If there are other options im open to it. Just don't have Arsenal or Everton cover at the moment ahead of what looks like decent fixtures.

    Thanks

Basically had the same situation and I went with C with 1.5 itb.

Though now I kinda regret not going for Sanchez and Lukaku...

On a wildcard, should I swap Jaku for Pickford or nay?

      I would, Pickford looks nailed.

You have the luxury of seeing if Sunderland sign a keeper. If they do, then keep Jaku imo, but he'll lose his spot soon most likely.

If Sunderland don't sign a keeper then Pickford is nailed on...

Gray, Redmond, Barkley & Aguero >
    a) Diomande, Fer, Sanchez & Rooney
    b) Diomande, Mirallas, Ozil & Rooney
both with itb to bring back Aguero in 1 move.

Plus I'll Wildcard and tweak defence too.

Seriously is Zaza an option ?

None of the forward options entice me, have Ibra & Costa already, may just sit tight with Kun, atleast can save the hit points.

If Gray and Aguero are banned then I might have to would want to jump on Ozil and take a striker punt (flip a coin between Rooney, Costa, Lukaku et al.)
