Suspensions

The FA have this afternoon charged Sergio Aguero with alleged violent conduct following his altercation with Winston Reid in City’s 3-1 win over West Ham at the Etihad last weekend.

City’s top scorer now has until 6pm tomorrow to contest the charge and, if found guilty, is set to serve a three-match domestic ban.

He would sit out the Gameweek 4 and 5 encounters against United and Bournemouth, as well as City’s EFL Cup trip to Swansea on September 20.

Aguero would then be available for the Gameweek 6 visit to the Liberty four days later.

Given the nature of the altercation, Aguero’s flailing arm gives him little hope of avoiding suspension.

Owned by over 52% of Fantasy Premier League managers, he’s already suffered significant sales after withdrawing from Argentina duties with a calf problem.

Should confirmation come tomorrow, the exodus will kick into overdrive as we look to spend the budget freed up by his departure from our squads.

For the 43.2% who don’t yet own him, Zlatan Ibrahimovic offers an easy swap for those who are seeking a place-holder for the City striker.

Chelsea’s Diego Costa looks reinvigorated under Antonio Conte and, along with Wayne Rooney, is one of only two forwards to produce returns in each of the first three Gameweeks.

The Aguero news comes at a time where Eden Hazard and Alexis Sanchez served a reminder of their big-hitter potential in midfield with double-figure weekend returns.

Whilst the temptation to invest the Aguero funds heavily in midfield is strong, keeping the door open for an easy return looks a wise move given his form under Pep Guardiola.

Logic says I should use some of the leftover Kun money to upgrade here for a -4. But given Gray's likely ban, ARS mids rising and general randomness of CS this year so far, think I'll just ignore the defense for now and hope for the best lol. Will change it up in two weeks with WC

Pretty much in the exact same position and thinking the same thing. Will likely take a -4 or -8 now to fix Aguero, Gray etc. Will WC to get Kun back later and sort the Def then.

Any chance aguero won't be banned? He is only charged yet I see, didn't Gray also get charged but many people think he won't be banned

If he contests the charge but still gets found guilty, doesn't he run the risk of a lengthier lay off?

I think Gray's situation is a bit more complicated considering it happened 4 years ago, compared to Aguero's textbook 3 match suspension.

Seems unlikely mate. The charge came because the panel think he's guilty. Hard to convince them otherwise now. Warped system imo

Possibly been mentioned but two quick ones...
    A. Is Zaza a decent punt at 7m? Good fixtures and likely to be first choice.
    B. Will Jaku lose his place at Hull? Might make Pickford the better 4m cheapie with Hull signing Marshall.

Best Aguero replacement for 2. Narrowed it down to 3. Not keen on Inehacheo or any other City attacker as they have Man U and no Aguero could impact them.

You're reading it wrong. Because he still has a positive balance (i.e. he's had more people buying than selling since he rose in price) those 30k are what's needed for him to go up. After 30k sell him you'll see the (negative) number required for him to drop, should be over 200k

I definitely think this is the part of the reason Wenger went for him. He was pretty inspired by that combo, but we don't know whether the Griezmann type of player will be Sanchez like he planned at first or Perez.
