We cast an eye over the members’ data now, assessing some of the top performers over Gameweek 4’s fixtures. Chelsea and Everton’s improving frontmen are assessed, as are West Ham and Man City’s standout weekend performers, whilst we also analyse a couple of new recruits at Goodison and the Bet365 ahead of some fine fixtures.

Right, I need some help. Currently lining up like this:

    Foster (Jakup)

    Collins, Shaw, Valencia (Souare, Amat)

    Hazard, Barkley, Redmond, Tadic (Maloney)

    Ibra - Costa - Negredo

    Do I....

    1) Take a -4 and do Tadic + Souare --> Antonio + Walker (this also means taking a hit next week to get Aguero back)
    2) Tadic --> Antonio

  12. RustyBz

People who are settling for Cazorla in their WC team... it'll be pretty painful where Ozil and Sanchez are racking in the points and Cazorla is getting nothing because no more penalties are given.

    1. stachman
      • 13 Years
      9 years, 10 months ago

He got some decent share of FKs and corners, but overall I think what you say may happen

      1. RustyBz
        • 11 Years
        9 years, 10 months ago

When did he last score a direct free kick? Relying on set piece points is just not viable especially when Sanchez and Ozil bring in the big points home. His points tally this season is very misleading, 2 pens already and 2 assists which happened in that freak game vs Liverpool

        1. Worzel Gummidge
          9 years, 10 months ago

Doesn't really matter how he gets points tbh and he gets forward.

          1. RustyBz
            • 11 Years
            9 years, 10 months ago

It does matter - his source of points just isn't consistent. When was the last time he came anywhere near Sanchez's points?

            1. Worzel Gummidge
              9 years, 10 months ago

It doesn't matter. At the end of the day he currently has more points than Ozil/Sanchez. I dont care how he gets points and I am sure his owners dont either. He played 1000 minutes last year and was in and out of the team due to injuries. Have set pieces is a bonus and like I said he gets forward.

              1. Worzel Gummidge
                9 years, 10 months ago

Plus he is a lot cheaper and money can be splashed elsewhere. I am an Ozil owner but your arguments are not really making sense. Look to the present, not past.

                  • 11 Years
                  9 years, 10 months ago

Not making sense? Sanchez will end up probably being one of highest points scorers in FPL. But because he got 1 point last week and Cazorla hit a 95th minute penalty he's the better choice.

                  1. Worzel Gummidge
                    9 years, 10 months ago

Mate I really dont care. Just get who you want and move along.

Yes, 4 weeks in. 10 weeks in there'll be a huge gap between his score and Ozil/Sanchez.

Right now Capoue is the highest FPL point scorer, doesn't mean he's the best option which is what you're saying.

I get that he's much cheaper and there's loads of other great options elsewhere, so money is tight. I can just see people struggling to get those 2 in over Cazorla especially when most WCs have been played

                1. Worzel Gummidge
                  9 years, 10 months ago

Ok, well dont get Cazorla. Just wait 10 weeks for this gap to happen, if it actually does based on nothing this season.

Like I said - I think you're right, but time will tell... Set pieces can be very dangerous weapon in terms of fantasy points... And you can upgrade your team in other positions with money you saved comparing to Alexis...

Valencia, Williams, and McCauley are keepers.

Collins could very well lose his starting spot to Ogbonna. Plus, West Ham's defense has been poor so far. I would not be comfortable having him and would be looking to swap him out for a more reliable 4.5

Amat should be upgraded to a good 4.5 if possible. i understand he is there strictly because of his price, but
it may not be long before he is on the bench as well.

Robertson. Great fixtures upcoming, attacking, and only has to compete with Davies and the Hull GK for defensive baps

Antonio to go to 7.2 before next deadline? 86.0 on FPL stats with a delta of around 14,000

Too knee jerky, or do I need Lukaku in here for a -4?

Fixtures are plum bang on form and price is rising. Nothing really obvious about how I get there though. Any ideas?

    A) Santi & Defoe -> Snoddy & Lukaku (-4)
    B) Sanchez & Defoe -> Silva/Firm & Lukaku (-4)
    C) Something else
    D) Forget about Trolkaku

    Cech
    Baines, Valencia, Collins
    Sanchez, Haz, Antonio, Santi
    Ibra, Benteke, Defoe

    Pickford, Capoue, Kone, Amat
    Bank 0.0m, 1FT

It's a solid team, not worth downgrading any of the mids yet just for Lukaku. Maybe just wait a week and see how your 2 ARS mids get on. Then get either Aguero or Lukaku with a LIV mid for free or a -4 next week.

Those with WC intact and using GW6 to get Kun back...anyone thinking of not including Ibra? Lukaku/ Kane/ Costa could cover his points and then you'd have more money for 3rd striker/ stronger midfield? High Ibra ownership is obviously the concern here.

Also if you've yet to jump on the Capoue bandwagon - despite his price rises, is he still worth including in a WC or should I just accept that I've missed that boat and find another cheap 5th mid?

Not interested in Costa with the one match ban looming and having to double with Haz for not the best fixtures. The other two I'd rather wait to see consistency which Ibra has already showed.

I'd only get Capoue now if you think he's good enough to be your 4th mid. I'd rather save 0.4m and get De Roon as my 5th mid

All fair points...Think you're right on Capoue - although Watford have decent fixtures coming up I'm keen on Ighalo as my 3rd striker and think double Watford would be a mistake! Forgot about Costa's likely upcoming ban! cheers.

How's this looking for a WC team?

    Foster / (Jaku)
    Valencia / Stones / Williams / Evans / (Amat)
    Hazard / Cazorla / Antonio / (Snodgrass) / (Capoue)
    Aguero / Ibra / Benteke

    1. Thinking of playing Kane vs. SUN and bringing Kun in next week.
    2. Take out Hazard & Snoddy > Bolasie & Firmino?
