We can’t quite call it a comeback but it’s progress.

Jonty’s radical solution to help solve his nosediving season was to throw off the shackles of his traditional dullard ways and start taking transfer hits.

It’s working, a 74-point Gameweek is enough to get him back and track and edging towards unlikely respectability. Like a Phoenix, dusting himself down and now pondering a rise from the ashes.

Personally, I’m not sure what’s more puzzling, Jonty’s struggles this season or Andy’s determination to cling to Zlatan Ibrahimovic like some muscular, ponytailed comfort blanket. At least Granville was wise enough to get rid after the Swede failed him yet again.

In this latest ScoutCast, we tackle Jonty’s reversal of fortune and Andy and Granville’s Zlatan woes, before embarking on another round of questions from you, the community.

The Gundoganwagon, Valencia replacements and looming doubts over the Arsenal teamsheet dominate the chatter.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

What do you think the major talking points will be after this gw? Here's mine:

    - Aguero with another haul will continue the never ending debate around the term 'essential'.

    - Ibra will finally get a haul, further torturing those that have held him this long and were convinced he was the first transfer out during the IB.

I'll leave mine there. Please add your own. 🙂

      - Austin will blank again leaving myself and several others wondering why we brought him in.
      - Hazard will post a double digit score and everyone will struggle to find place for him.

Yep, that's the main worry I have... But if I don't downgrade Sterling I can't get Haz. Also except for Aguero it's difficult to see anyone getting more than 1 goal/assist in the game.

Well, with that news and his injury history, Shaqiri to Allen seem sensible then?

Otherwise it's Capoue off the bench with two flagged midfielders and no playing defenders. Not ideal.

I'm pretty much convinced Walcott will start from what I've read, but that doesn't seem to be the popular view on here. If I had him I'd definitely start him.

Fwiw, I sold him for Coutinho last gw, but more out of necessity due to not being able to fields a starting 11. He could very well come back into my team quite soon.

This week benching Grant, Friend, Amat and Allen. I rate Payet - I think his points total looks low because he has not played as many minutes as others (on account of Euros and injury).

Payet is a good pick but with that front 8 you'll be benching a good player every week. And with smith and holebas one card away from a ban and Amat not playing then your defence is very light

      2. Andriy Shevchenko is Back
        • 9 Years

Agree. I'd wait and see if / how much walcott plays and maybe lose him before payett, with ramsey and giroud back in contention. Defence needs some work with Spurs/Arsenal/Chelsea coverage as a priority. Fuchs has great fixtures too

Knee jerked and took -8 to get Hazard in on sunday before price rise. Gundowagan, Austin, Hazard in, Arnie,Tadic,Tekkers out
Hope this is G2G for a week where i have 2 pairs of Def vs Atk

    Heaton(Pickford)
    Stones,Williams,Alonso(Neil Taylor, B.Smith)
    Alexis,Hazard,Firmino,Gundogan(Allen)
    Lukaku,(K)un,Austin

Gonna play N.Taylor against vs MUN (hope he does play) over Williams, if not Williams will be subbed in

This is my thinking, Ive read a lot of people saying that Gundogun will be a rotation risk ahead, but he was Peps first purchase, the first guy Pep wanted for his new project. I doubt that he wont play if fit, and the last two games, city has dominated with Gundogun in a more attacking role.

Play Pickford away to Bournemouth or Grant away to W. Ham?

Tough, maybe grant as Sunderland are so bad just now I can't see a clean sheet (Pickford owner)

Would you do A or B?
    A. Deeney > Austin (save other transfer)
    B. Deeney and Antonio > Austin and Siggy

Anyone watch Southampton last night? Planning on getting Redmond but worried about Boufal and Rodriguez lurking, how did he perform? Cheers

Austin seems the most nailed on attacker

Watch 2nd half and he looked decent and puel seems to love Redmond. I have brought him in and fairly confident he'll play but obviously never know 100% with these things. He has played europa Thursday before and been fine for the weekend

Cheers lads, hope he does well vs a poor Hull side so.

    Any other Chadli owners around?

    What are your plans?

Think I may just keep and play Capoue/Williams.

Keeping - but I have Valencia to replace which is a longer lay-off so higher priority. But if I had a spare free I'd probably get rid.

Makes sense. I've used my FT this week and will likely need to sell Zlatan next GW, finally, so I don't think it makes much sense to sell Chadli for a hit at the moment.

I'd agree. Man Utd assets started off the season with promise - but with Mourinho publically criticising his team it's getting very reminiscent of his last weeks at Chelsea. Best to prioritise purging them from your team for now, I'd say.

After two Walcott drops this week, I'm starting to worry. This is compounded by my lack of Sanchez cover.

    Walcott + Firmino > Sanchez + Allen?

It would mean taking a hit, which is what has dissuaded me so far. But I don't much fancy another drop, and Allen is rising tonight (I have the exact money for this switch).

    Rest of the team:

    Heaton, Pickford
    Vertonghen, Williams, Holebas, Smith, Amat
    Hazard, Coutinho, Capoue
    Aguero, Lukaku, Austin.

I wouldn't do those moves. Stick for now and have 2ft after the international break

My first reaction was no, as I wouldn't lose Firmino. But you do have Coutinho in as well. I rarely like double ups (despite currently having Walcott and Sanchez) so I think those two moves make sense. In order to avoid a hit though, how about walcott -> allen this week, especially if injured, to free up the funds and getting sanchez in next week? no guarantees sanchez will outscore firmino this week
