Dare you go 4-4-2 when the crowd go 3-4-3? Perhaps you fancy “going maverick” with a 3-5-2 or even a 4-5-1?

The third option is to “go Granville” and take your hands off the wheel altogether, hoping for the best.

It seems that the latest tactic from my ScoutCast co-host is to induce a bout of amnesia and miss the Gameweek deadline. In doing so, he’s left his captain on Eden Hazard who, as it transpires, is poised to miss tonight’s Sunderland trip.

Roberto Firmino, a player widely sold ahead of Gameweek 16, is currently warming up to sport Granville’s armband. Surely this ill-fated chain of events can only end one way?

Granville takes time out to talk through his “Ghostship” strategy/tragedy while laying into my 4-5-1 and unshakable faith in John Stones.

Andy and Jonty then chip in as we preview Gameweek 17 and take on a round of community questions that ask whether we should be selling Liverpool, buying United and, in a rather exasperated tone, how any of us can justify overlooking Diego Costa.

I respond with a half-hearted argument, which sounds more like a confession of a fatal error. Make your own mind up on that one.

Who is the closest current PL player from your area? Mine is Diomande. He lived just around the corner and I played against him on a couple of occasions when growing up. He used to play like a drunk donkey and if anyone told me back then that this guy would end up in the PL I would've died laughing.

The only player I know to have grown up near my hometown (rural Northumberland) is Michael Liddle who played for Sunderland and ended up at Blyth Spartans.

Five Live commentator John Murray is from the village though.

Used to play football with Andrew Johnson - he's from Bedford. Was always super quick but didn't think he would be a Prem player.

Once played against Jermaine Pennant in a 7 aside game. He came on as a sub and scored 6 goals in 10 minutes lol

Might be an alternative to Aguero if he does in fact get decent minutes and classified as a forward. Too much guesswork now though I suppose.

He can't be too bad? We're talking about the greatest talent in the world. He's more impressive and decisive than Neymar was at his age. He's phenomenal, which is why he's Brazil starting n.9.

What to do with Aguero funds? 2.2m

    A) Heaton -> Courtois (Pickford on bench)
    B) Get Alonso (ship A. Smith, Vertonghen, or VVD)
    C) Upgrade Redmond

Only chelsea coverage is Costa. Actually happy with my defense, so leaning towards upgrading Redmond. Is Chelsea D essential?

Cheers all, and good luck today!

If you have Anichebe in your lineup against Chelsea, I'd rather take my chances with your first sub.

I noticed on the scoutcast that Andy M had Shane Long placard in the background complete with Ireland flag.

Does this mean he is a closet saints supporter or worse still an Ireland one?

    Pickford
    Clyne Vertonghen Evans Pieters
    Firmino Sanchez Hazard
    Ineanacho Kane Costa

    Heaton Fletcher Capoue Amat

2 FT, which option is better?

    A Clyne/Nacho > Gibson/Defoe
    B Firmino/Nacho > Payet/Llorente

Kieran Trippier is on the front of today's match programme. Not sure that by itself means much but would be very surprised if he doesn't start ahead of Walker today. Going to be a week for squad depth to be key.

Yep wasn't always going to happen tbh. Just a pain it's done in the same week when Hazard and Anichebe also look like they're out

Ville Ronka wins again. He's a genius. Avoids Hazard, keeps Benteke whilst I took a 12 point hit to bring Hazard, Anichibe and Alonso in. Epic fail
