Gameweek 17 delivers one last match for Fantasy managers as Everton entertain Liverpool in the first Merseyside derby of the season.

Adam Lallana arrives at Goodison as the most sought-after target in Fantasy Premier League last week – over 290,000 drafted him in on the back of a 19-point haul at Middlesbrough.

Divock Origi was the number one forward for transfers in ahead of Gameweek 17 – the Liverpool frontman has recovered from a knock and is looking to score for the fifth successive Gameweek.

In terms of FPL captains, Romelu Lukaku and Sadio Mane are the two most popular picks for tonight’s match.

The big Belgian has struggled for form, though, failing to earn points in five of his previous six league outings.

Although he’s flourished at Anfield, Mane has disappointed on the road, serving up six blanks in eight road trips.

Meanwhile, Roberto Firmino – the third most transferred out ahead of Gameweek 17 – will be looking to stop the fire sale and end a run of five straight blanks against a defence with just a single clean sheet in 12 attempts.

      Dont think it's that bad. Just because the prices are low, doesnt mean they'yy get less points than if you spent am extra 0.5 per player. They're good value which allows you to spend elsewhere. That said, i would target a decent defender you want to play every week besides Walker amd find a way to bring him in. Jones isnt the answer. Sorry for the essay

          Depends who you're willing to cut and how much money it brings. Brunt is a good option. You only need one imo. I think people are upset with Cedric prematurely, he still has good fixtures. Or find a way to bring in Valencia, Rose or Chelsea

      A few of us in the DZ last season did early wild cards and really improved our ranks last season -- I went up 100s of k and I think someone else went up almost 1M. Unconventional but it still can be done.

      Depends on your team. I'm at 1M and pleased with my current team. Give up if you just copy everyone and so have less chance of moving up ranks and dont enjoy it much because your not really managing much in the first place. Thats the only reasons i see to give up besides, ya know, having a life outside FFS haha

    Is it time to cave and bring in Mane? He's been thrashing me the ML. Do we expect regression from this turn of fixtures coming up; Liverpool are known for doing quite well against the bigger teams. The only ones I would really classify as particularly difficult for the rest of their season is United away and Chelsea at home in GW21 and GW23.

      Hey Dr Drip. I had a look at your team and transfer history last night and I love it. Really ballsy with lots of tranfers but I think it has paid off.
      Do you use a stats table or is it it gut feeling where you get your transfers?
      I might start using this tactic to get one up on opponents.

    So Kane->Ibra seems an ovbvious choice. unfortunately I'm 0.2 short of doing that transfer and Siggy->Lallana only gets me 0.1 of the way there...

    I am absolutely not saving my WC for a piggin DGW again...I ABSOLUTELY REFUSE.

    Every time I do that I end up with about 15-20 ps more for that GW and about 40 loss over about four weeks as I get players back. I'm gonna transfer in about 3 picks plus whoever I have....and that's it...

      Got about 150 last year if memory serves me correctly as sue with Bench Boost and won me mt ML, so it can pay off but hell of a lot of planning and sacrificing some points

      I still think the best use of both your second WC and the 2 important chips should be used in connection with the DGWs.
      I am definitely not one for getting in 15 DGWs, but I think the DGW can allow you to play your best team for as long as possible and give you the opportunity for a great DGW as well.
      Last year the second DGW fell on GW 37, so not much time to lose points afterwards.

      I at least had a great run last year. It took extremely careful planning, but I found it very enjoyable. Got 100+ and 150+ in the two game weeks combined and my only red arrow from GW 29-38 was 38, where I mistakenly took a few hit to repair the DGW-team.

    What change would to make to this team ? No funds in bank and already done free transfer of Costa to Ibra and planning to bring back for Kane next week. Worry clearly Origi game time

    Williams really was like 2 metres ahead of Mané when Sturridge's shot hit the post, then ended up being 3 metres behind Mané when he scored.

    Mané is light-quick and Williams is statuesque.

      Every week in training we drum it into our lads to stay awake and run in on any shot....always..we go on about it over and over again.

      Situations like that aren't luck...they're called being wide awake. It was a great goal from somebody who knows his stuff.

    I'm seeing a lot removing Kane, but my alternative is play Amat this week and I'm not losing much value in Costa.
