Low on baubles but big on Christmas hats, the array of headgear in this festive ScoutCast is impressive, at least until you get to Jonty’s flimsy paper effort.

The final episode of 2016 is upon us and it’s a big one as Andy, Granville and the aforementioned Jonty join me to charge headfirst into the final three Gameweeks of the year.

We start by bowing to Andy’s wise man act as he reaps the reward of faith in Ibrahimovic: a gift that we hope will go on giving, as we all belatedly jump on board.

Then we batten down the hatches ahead of Christmas rotation, analyse the 2016 Dream Team and attempt to provide the Fantasy Football’s “secrets of success”. Like we’d know.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below – hats and all.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Fantasy wise, really hoping palace get a manager who knows how to get the best out of Benteke. Would be awful if they appointed some Spanish tiki taka pretender

I had costa from gameweek 1
Now I wish chelsea fail and bad resaults. Should I replace costa with kun when he is back ?
I mean mane and costa to coutinho and aguero
    Chelsea have difficult fixtures
And note that , that costa already got suspension he will easier get booked and will play with more freedom

This second part is actually a good point. Costa is more likely to get a couple of bookings again certainly at first.

I really wish I knew City's team sheet. So hard to predict. Sterling at 7.6 against Hull looks like a perfect little punt.

But with Pep, he'll just as likely be benched as play up front again.

That 13 minute cameo against Burnley. Even Pep is not definitely nailed in Pep's team. Won't be surprised if he rotates himself over Christmas.

True. That's why I said closest to definitely nailed, not definitely nailed. Certainly more nailed than Sterling at least

Fernandino is the only nailed player. And he's suspended. Everybody else seemingly rotates at will. You'd think he'd want to give Nacho some time before aguero back next week so worried Sterling could be benched with Sane and Nol out wide.

He still picks Navas sometimes for crying out loud.

He played well in the last match. He's been a bit unlucky, he was almost put clean through three times but denied by an errant ball. Stuff like that doesn't show up on stats so important to watch.

He's a good captain shout this week if fully fit, which Conte has said he is.

Yeah he was good. This is why stats need to be taken with pinch of salt. Hazard will have patches of brilliance so past stats really mean little

People selling Kane after a couple of poor performances, did you also sell Sanchez after the United and Boro games?

Understand the logic behind it unless you're selling him and retaining Costa for the week, these elite players have a habit of saying hi and making you burn, just like Sanchez did.

Assume he was 20-25 pts off them then, still doesn’t mean it’s not up for debate. Just looking at previous points is not the only indicator for future points. Kun, Sanchez, Haz, Ibra, Kane KDB are all in the same price premium bracket for a reason - they are all definitely worth debating. I do agree Sanchez and Costa look like better picks this season though, but just looking at their point tallies is poor reasoning.

In the last two years Kane has been a better fantasy option than both, 25 and 21 goals makes it not even a debate.

That was not the point though, Sanchez is the point because many on here were convinced he wasn't worth it after the Boro and United games then got burned hard, selling Kane makes sense but selling Kane while keeping Costa makes none, the fact that Costa is about to drop for his 3rd time while Kane has only dropped once shows very few share the logic that's been spoken about on here just like when Sanchez was over priced after the United game then all those people went quiet after he scored a hatrick.

          Talk about the present.
There are others who are giving instant returns.
If I have option to go from Kane to costa and get instant returns why won't I?
Shall I wait for Kane to score a brace in 4 weeks while costa scores in all 4 matches ?

It's same with aguero this season. Many are considering to go without him.
I bet nobody doubts him, but it's just they will wait for him to hit the top gear and then bring him in the team.

Sanchez is one of the best players in the world.

Kane wanders around the pitch scoring the odd tap in and a penalty. He's hardly elite. He can't turn a game on his own and is entirely dependent on the players around him.

He's no better than Benteke or Lukaku certainly, just plays in a better team.

Would rather own zlatan, Aguero and Costa over him all season long. Can't believe I wasted points getting him in the last two weeks.

      Utter let down.

I don’t think it is quite the same. After united, Sanchez had BOU/whu/STO. Decent chance of explosion in all 3 games and a good captain choice on paper at the very least.

Kane has sou/wat/CHE. Not really captain material in any 3 of those and hard to see more than 1 explosion there.

I agree that Kane will be back in form sooner rather than later, there is a reason he is priced so high. It really comes down to do you think you want him mid term or not? I think there are better options..Ibra, Costa, Lukaku, Benteke, maybe Kun for the next say 8-10GWs.

Just to clear up, I'm not pro Kane, just baffled by the logic of keeping Costa and selling Kane when you could have sold Costa (like the rest of the game) used Kane for one week (when he can potentially produce) the sell Kane after, in the meantime you buy Costa back cheaper and risk not having to eat humble pie like you did after writing Sanchez off because you wanted to get Hazard, let's hope this one doesn't burn as much as that did.

Why can't people just say that then instead of trying to make out that Kane is Heskey?

That makes sense, to try and dress it up as Kane being like Heskey shows a lack of football knowledge.

Very few players score 20 PL goals a season, he's done it twice.

That is for me a false debate.
Kane is too dependent on the team to get anything out of the game.. Wonder how many chances he created on his own. Remove his penalties and tap ins, he wouldn't even be in the golden boot race.
I like him as a player, but comparing him to a Sanchez/Hazard/Costa is another topic in itself.

The latters would get toward the ball, create chances, snatch the balls from opposition and create the goals.
I don't remember Kane doing all this.
And FPL-wise for his price, I better wait until he is in form and firing to get him, else, there are so many better options around!

The point of the debate (in simple terms) is....

Are people wrong to talk down the merits of a player because it suits their fantasy team more than him being an actual bad player and has no one learned that this kind of thinking comes back and bites in a painful way?

That's the only reason Kane is being compared to Sanchez, not because of their individual ability against eachother but because of the situations both players have found themselves in with the fantasy community.

One players smacked everyone down for talking such nonsense, will the other do the same?

Scored 3 and assisted 3 in last 6 at home. Hardly awful, just not as good as away.

Plus Arsenal have a very good home record to Pulis teams (not away)

Mane is the best captain option this week. Then Siggy and Sanchez, Hazard closely behind.

A lot of people will be very disappointed with the zlatan bandwagon. Sunderland play SO deep and he'll get few chances in the box.

morning dzzz, not a big fan of hits but leaning towards one now..have 0.9m itb,

    Heaton -- Grant
Holebas Naylor Pieters -- Mcauly smith
Hazard siggy eriksen sanchez --- fletch
    Kane Ibra Carroll

    - Have a double stoke defence and with butland injured for longer, then keen to get rid of pieters...
    - ideally would like to have brunt for wba coverage but not worth spending a ft to get mcauly >> xxx and then pieters >> brunt in gw20?
    - Very confused between p.jones and valencia

    A: Mcauly >> valencia
    B: Pieters >> P.jones
C: Eriksen + Pieters >> Walcott + Valencia (-4) leaves 0.5m itb for carroll updated
    D: Eriksen + Pieters >> Walcott + Pjones (-4)...leaves 1m itb to upgrade carroll

Really leaning towards C as i think valencia is more nailed on/attacking (or am i wrong?). Only had eriksen for two weeks and he has done well in one of the games..his stats have improved a lot but arsenal have plum home fixtures. Only downside of C is it leaves little funds to upgrade grade

I have captained sanchez 5 times and got 98 points so there you go 😀

the problem is kane had 2easy fixtures and the guy just could not even get a assist
plus eriksen hogging the points at spurs it seems now

Who are you captaining this week mi amigo? Hazard or Ibra for me. Excitement vs dullardness.

I feel Arsenal is doing better than United at breaking down parked busses, so that makes sense. I desperately want Hazard to score a brace though, and think there is a good chance too 😉

        Hey Gilbert!

I'm tempted to go Sanch or Haz this week instead of Ibra, feel like it's gna fail if it's on the big man.. keep getting burnt by following the crowd haha

Hey man. Yeah we were totally burnt by Kane last two weeks, weren't we?! I have a good feeling about Hazard, and I have made a wish to Santa 😉 How are you doing btw? Are you also struggling with red arrows?

Yes indeed. Been doing really badly, hoping to turn it around next year. Had a really bad 4-5 weeks.

I really dk man, I'm just not sure, Ibra looks such a good bet, but then so did Kane. Hazard V Bournemouth and also Sanch V WBA are also such good options! Really unsure where to go this week. Maybe I'll copy you and go Haz hehe

How many want Kun back? If I want him back, I have to lose one of my big hitters Hazard, Sanchez, Ibra or Costa. Not sure I want to do that.

I'm getting him back for Kane no questions asked. Leaving Zlatan, although may rotate between those who. It's one of Costa or Hazard for me going forward. Not both.

Yeah I think Costa is must have this season. But not sure if I want to ditch Hazard so maybe I will go without Kun

Already gone -4 for Ibra so don't want another hit.
    So
    Which one to bench?

    A) Nacho - HUL (A)
    B) Rondon - ARS (A)

Should be a price for getting the most captain points in the game. I'm doing poorly (less points than if left the armband on Sanchez). Anyone acing it?

Any update on Zaha switching to Ivory Coast and going to African nations?
Also does pardew leaving makes Zaha less appealing?
