Low on baubles but big on Christmas hats, the array of headgear in this festive ScoutCast is impressive, at least until you get to Jonty’s flimsy paper effort.

The final episode of 2016 is upon us and it’s a big one as Andy, Granville and the aforementioned Jonty join me to charge headfirst into the final three Gameweeks of the year.

We start by bowing to Andy’s wise man act as he reaps the reward of faith in Ibrahimovic: a gift that we hope will go on giving, as we all belatedly jump on board.

Then we batten down the hatches ahead of Christmas rotation, analyse the 2016 Dream Team and attempt to provide the Fantasy Football’s “secrets of success”. Like we’d know.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below – hats and all.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

There is no such thing as a starter at City (beyond any one week's team), get with the programme.

People persist in thinking that Pep is a manager like any other when it's obvious he isn't. Whether that's a good thing for City I won't comment on. But it's horrible for FPL.

He didn't change his defense the last two matches from what I've read. Taming his arrogance? Great managers adapt. He will have to.

            He won't.

And the next time KDB or Aguero are inexplicably benched or rested people will say they didn't see it coming and are being trolled.

    Currently on:

    Heaton, Pickford
    Walker, Alonso, Holebas, McAuley, Amat
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Sigurdsson, Allen
    Kane, Defoe, Iheanacho

    1 FT, 0.7 ITB

    A) Eriksen -> Lallana. That would allow Kane to Agüero newt GW, with no hit.
    B) Eriksen -> Walcott. Looks better for this GW, but I'd need a hit to dig Agüero in next GW.
    C) Hazard -> Lallana
    D) Hazard -> Walcott
    E) Hazard and Eriksen -> Lallana, Walcott and -4

(Next GW, I should as well forget about Agüero and simply look for a proper replacement to Iheanacho.)

    Thoughts? Thanks in advance!!!

Would not bring in Kun against Pool. Need to monitor first. GW20 if it looks like he is playing maybe. Walcott is a great choice! Eriksen has great stats though, therefore I think it's a close call

I wouldn't have picked Siggy as a captain, but it can be a good differential, so it's good if you feel it this way.

I ditched him, of course he's gonna start and score a brace. It's just that I don't care anymore. I dropped him before I would lose money on him. Bought him at 6.6M, he rose to 6.8M and is now 6.5M. Points before price falls I know, but I'm OK with whatever happens with him.

...and that's an example of someone basing their whole view on one quote because they have little background understanding.

If Batshuayi doesn't start I'll eat your hat. And it doesn't look particularly clean. So I'd better be right.

Batshuayi is a good player. Has been very promising when I have seen him. I'd be very tempted by a 1-week punt and if I thought Costa's "tight hamstring" was more than that I would take him for sure.

Hazard is a good second striker but not a good false 9. So not looking too much into Conte's comments and thinking that he'll start upfront nevertheless.
He also helped Chelsea win a couple of matches in the beginning stage of the season. He deserves this atleast.

just saw the hot topic. Wow that is very impressive. Was just watching the aussie version before I came on here. Gonna have to find a torrent for it. Will be cheering you on Jarvish. What's your actual name so I know who to root for?

Yeah I've now changed my captaincy to Sanchez.

700k.. worst position I've been in at this stage of the season to date.

Just kidding. Was being sarcastic mate, when I asked your rank. Anyway, I don't own Sanchez and am in a bit of trouble this week. Not doing great myself at 245K. Can't say it's been my worst position at this stage.

Thoughts of my long-term planning highly appreciated:

GW18: Already did Kane -> Ibra
    GW19: Save
GW20: Ibra and Mane -> Aguero and Walcott
    GW21: Save
    GW22: Siggy -> Coutinho and Origi -> max 6.3

    Current team:

    Heaton
    Cedric/Jones/Holebas
    Sanch/Haz/Mane/Siggy
    Ibra/Costa/Origi

Bench: Pick, Amat, Love, De Roon (0FT, 0.5 itb)

Maybe I should keep Ibra to get Benteke instead of max 6.3?

(Ibra and Benteke instead of Aguero and max 6.3)?

Im doing some similar plannig to get Aguero in at GW20.

6.3 = Negredo or Llorente; then maybe Ibra+Benteke is just better..

          Another option could be:
          GW19: Save
          GW20: Mane -> Mkhtaryan
          GW21: Save
GW22: Siggy and Origi -> Coutinho and max 6.7.

          How this looks like?

More than a chance as it stands. Stoke and Derby at an impasse over the fee and Stoke looking at some Scandinavian GK instead.

One would presume that rationality will lead to a compromise but it's all a bit iffy right now.

    Heaton
    Vertonghen - Cedric - Amat
    Sanchez(vc) - Hazard - Eriksen - Lallana - De Roon
    Ibrahimovic(c) - Origi

Bench: Pickford - Evans - Ake - Costa

Good to go? Used my free so any other changes would be for a hit.

If he is racking up the goals he won't be rested. The FA Cup fixture on 7th Jan is when everyone should be rested. Will be a nice 10-12 days rest before the next PL fixture.

I don't get the whole Walcott will be rotated thing. He's scoring important goals. Wenger has always liked him and says he is in some of the best form of his career.

More likely to be rested than Sanchez but some people on here have him down as a massive rotation risk which just isn't true.

I now realise I have wasted my time writing this because those people won't listen...

He's clearly not a massive rotation risk despite popular opinion. I think he's an important part of the team which doesn't have a proper striker.

      1. Worzel Gummidge
        9 years, 7 months ago

Doesn't have a proper striker? What about that guy called Sanchez who has scored the second most goals in the PL so far? I dont care if Walcott is rested or not but he is the most likely and Arsenal wouldn't notice him missing from the team as they would Sanchez. Walcott was playing poor for some time regardless of his 3 recent goals

        1. Get up ya bum
          • 16 Years

I think his point is the way Alexis plays up front, almost like a false 9, cries out for a goal scoring wide player cutting into the space he creates. Which is bang on. Walcott being poor for a while now is also bang on.

    3. Nabs Kebabs
      • 14 Years

He is clearly first choice but for GW19/20 which are 2 days apart he is a substantial rotation risk...WallyIwobi/Ox/Giroud/Perez/Ramsey all fighting for two spots.

He was on fire early season. Last couple months he has been back to his old self. Inconsistent, dangerous one game anonymous the next. He's fortunate he doesn't have fit in form competition. That will change
