Gameweek 18 comes to its conclusion this Wednesday evening as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Mary’s.

Claude Puel’s men seek a fourth successive clean sheet in front of their own supporters, with ever-present Virgil van Dijk (13% ownership) the most popular Saints player by some distance in Fantasy Premier League.

After netting twice in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth, Jay Rodriguez retains his role up front and is afforded another chance to play his way into our plans ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

Back-to-back home blanks against Hull and Burnley persuaded many to part company with Harry Kane last time out – the Spurs frontman was second only to Diego Costa for transfers out in Gameweek 18. Nonetheless, a big performance could have a big effect in the FPL standings – Kane is the sixth most captained player for this round of fixtures.

His Tottenham team-mate Christian Eriksen also earned significant sales after failing to deliver points against the Clarets, yet both have the underlying numbers to punish those who chose to look elsewhere.

      Gibbs started in his place - I would imagine he was rested given the proximity of the next match. Fairly nailed.

      Koscielny or Bellerin if you can.

      I've had Walker since day one and common sense tells me to take him out for one of Jones, Brunt or Ashley Williams, but it's hard to lose the only remaining ever present in my team.

      Plus, you know he'll start next Wednesday, granted against Chelsea though!

    How should I get Costa back into my team?

    My team right now:
    Heaton, Pickford
    Alonso, Holebas, Evans, Smith, Amat
    Sanchez, Hazard, Eriksen, Walcott, Sigurdsson
    Ibra, Origi, Anichebe

    I'd replace Walcott with De Roon (4.4 M) and Origi with Costa, but I would still lack 0.4 M in that case. What could I do as 3th transfer (-4)?

    This isn't a comment on any recent posts, but this place has got so jittery and knee-jerky about transfer moves that I think it's in danger of being on it is bit counter productive. Seems to be a snowballing effect on players deemed to be 'bad news'.
