Gameweek 18 comes to its conclusion this Wednesday evening as Southampton welcome Tottenham Hotspur to St Maryโ€™s.

Claude Puelโ€™s men seek a fourth successive clean sheet in front of their own supporters, with ever-present Virgil van Dijk (13% ownership) the most popular Saints player by some distance in Fantasy Premier League.

After netting twice in the 3-1 win at Bournemouth, Jay Rodriguez retains his role up front and is afforded another chance to play his way into our plans ahead of some fine upcoming fixtures.

Back-to-back home blanks against Hull and Burnley persuaded many to part company with Harry Kane last time out – the Spurs frontman was second only to Diego Costa for transfers out in Gameweek 18. Nonetheless, a big performance could have a big effect in the FPL standings – Kane is the sixth most captained player for this round of fixtures.

His Tottenham team-mate Christian Eriksen also earned significant sales after failing to deliver points against the Clarets, yet both have the underlying numbers to punish those who chose to look elsewhere.

    If I'm taking out Kane for Costa eventually anyway, is there any point not doing it this week?

    Kane to Costa for free this week.
    Then Vertongen and Ibra to Brunt and Aguero for -4 next week?

    I'd rather have Costa than Lukaku and unfortunately can't afford Kun and Ibra.

      Agree with you, but others got more recently and just got a one-pointer, a suspension next week, then back for Chelsea and Man City the week after. Will be looking at him for gw 23 vs SUN.

    Just saw he's the 5th most transfered out player!
    One blank & people want out?
    He has 2 more GW agaisnt pourous city/sunderland & plays for the team who have scored the most goals.
    Also gets 90 minutes as klopp getting the most before he goes.

      Dunno, maybe people trying to convince themselves that a Costa with 1/3 the amount of goal attempts of Aguero in the last 6 weeks played, in a team that looks to be setting up more defensive minded than all out attack, will somehow match Aguero's output.

        Won't be getting Kun until GW32. Won't captain him enough for him to be worth it.

        Not getting costa either, I prefer to captain Haz and for for Costas price I want someone who I would captain.

        I got Lukaku in this week and will use has as second striker till around Gw30, has some great fixtures.

        Third striker will be Benteke/Rondon

    Can you imagine if the players from last year carried their form in to this season.
    The likes of Mahrez, Vardy, Payet, Ighalo, Alli etc.
    The so called templates would be ripped up and I'm sure most teams would be a lot different and more exciting!!!

    Happy with this gw, made 93 points.
    Already used my FT for Pickford -> Foster.
    Wouldn't worry about the -4 for Wally replacement, but if there would be a guarantee that he'll be back after next game I'll probably keep.
