On the eve of Gameweek 19, we can reveal those who prevailed in the sixth round of our open-to-all Fantasy Premier League cup competition to earn a place in the last sixteen stage, which takes place over the next set of fixtures.

For this cup contest there are more than £1,000 worth of prizes for UK based entrants courtesy of our partner FanDuel, as well as £350 in Amazon vouchers to the top three managers at the end of the competition.

In addition, the highest scoring manager each round will collect a £30 FanDuel credit, with Big Phil Soccer Team winning that accolade for the second week in a row. He is also the competition’s highest placed manager, with an overall rank of 5838, and faces David Brains in round seven after seeing off TorresMagic 95 to 76.

Despite losing out, TorresMagic’s tally was enough to earn him a £10 FanDuel credit as one of the four next highest scorers in round six.

Among the closest ties in round seven is the clash between 9,047 placed Bashvilla and Real Sociopath, who has an overall rank of 11,415.

Another similarly ranked battle involves 8,265 placed DillyDingDillyDongFC against Back on the Horse, who sits in 21,192nd.

The competition’s second highest ranked manager and another recipient of a round six highest score prize of a £10 FanDuel credit, is 6426th placed Simonsimondock. He takes on Moin, who is just 9,000 places below him in the overall standings.

The competition’s lowest ranked manager at 1,006,807 is 808AllDay, who saw off 31,470 placed jurgenklopp.8 in round six and also earned a £10 FanDuel credit for his tally of 75. This giant killer has a slightly easier tie in the next round when he takes on 157,004 placed malvernangells.

Meanwhile, Lowlifegimpe, who also claimed a round six highest score £10 FanDuel credit, takes on Hazardousblue.

The final round seven clashes sees Dumbo Delap face Urchin, another recipient of a £10 FanDuel voucher for a high round six score.  Meanwhile, A Manager Has No Name squares up to Jacknap.

The sixth round results can be found via this link, while the full seventh round draw can be found here.

Good luck to those still involved and if you would like more information on the schedule and prizes click this link. Due to the busy festive fixtures, the competition will not take place in Gameweek 20, with the quarter-finals to be played out in Gameweek 21.

Chelsea have featured in 'Frisking the Fixtures - The Weak' tonight.

Is doubling up on Chelsea's defence still a good idea?

No. Sell for John Stones. He might come good soon.

Of course double CHE def is a good idea.

I feel strong moving forward from now on:

    Heaton
    Alonso - Valencia - McAuley
Sanchez - Mkhitaryan - Eriksen -Siggy
    Costa - Ibra -Carroll

with Siggy ➡ Lallana next week

    😎

My defense currently is McAuley - Evans - Holebas - Pieters - Amat... I will need to take a hit to get Alonso, or so I do feel, because I'm likely to make a transfer in the coming weeks, e.g. getting rid of Siggy soon, getting rid of Payet, maybe buying someone else for him before I eventually settle on Coutinho, maybe getting rid of Origi soon, maybe buy Aguero back soon.... So many looming attacking transfers to be made in the coming weeks that I feel I might as well take a hit to get Alonso tonight because:

    1) He's rising in price making him more expensive in the future (might rise tonight)
    2) I need him in for the long-term at some point, so might as well make the move now and hope for the best
    3) He will repay the hit soon, perhaps even in GW19 as the above mentioned defense is likely to fail to get a single cleanie in GW19...

I am thinking out loud, but isn't this right?

People will tell you never to take a hit for a defender which is nonsense. As you say, there is always something more pressing to do and in the meantime you keep missing out.

    3. Demel
      • 14 Years

Simply Chelsea's fixtures are turning and they will keep less clean sheets. No need to take a hit for him.

    4. Konig Luther
      • 13 Years

take the hit... he will pay off soon... you are just let him rise too much for someone that is a season keeper.

I wouldn't do it. There's a good chance he will not rise before Saturday, Chelsea has awful next few fixtures, and it sounds like you're having other more urgent transfers to make.

From gameweek 21, what do you think of the following squad?

    Heaton / Foster
    Alonso / Jones / Cédric / Holebas / Evans
Sánchez / Lallana / Phillips / Allen / de Roon
    Agüero / Ibrahimovic / Costa

The midfield is a bit weak, and there’s an obvious lack of Tottenham players, but could it work still?

I guess we could just save up a transfer – two free transfers should be sufficient to restructure a team, perhaps take a hit in addition.

Someone you’d rather have than Jones, by the way?
        - Ward?
        - Williams?
        - Reid?

Not sure about him although other mid options aren't too appealing: https://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/2017_Chinese_Super_League#Foreign_players

For a 31 year old player Real Madrid should have snapped up that more than generous offer
Jorge Mendes must be suicidal that they did not accept how much would have that spiv made out of the deal?

    Which route do I take?

    A) Pickford & Kane to Mannone & Costa (-4)

    B) Save FT (no GK)
then next GW: Jakup, Eriksen & Kane to Foster, Phillips, Aguero (-4)

with walcott def out...chances of him playing in gw20 (2 days later)?

deas on below? Have 0.5m itb ..not sure what to do about walcott and carroll.

    Heaton
    Valencia smith mcauly ---holebas Taylor
    Hazard siggy Walcott sanchez
    Kane Ibra Carroll

A: save FT if the consensus is that walcott will only miss 1 game...plus my sub def has a reasonable fixture
B: walcott >> sterling (tough fixtures but city cover?)
C: walcott >> eriksen (ironically did eriksen >> walcott last week
