Sunday brings the curtain down on Gameweek 19 with two more matches before the following round of fixtures gets underway tomorrow.

First up, we make up way to Vicarage Road, where Spurs are looking to take advantage of a Watford defence that’s failed to keep a clean sheet in eight league encounters.

Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli both served up double-figure tallies on their midweek travels in a 4-1 win at Southampton – the Dane now has 10+ points in four of his last six.

With a total of 10 points accrued over the last four fixtures, Harry Kane, meanwhile, is second only to Romelu Lukaku for transfers out this Gameweek as the scramble to acquire Sergio Aguero ahead of City’s clash with Burnley picks up pace.

The Hornets have netted just once in the previous three but with clashes against Stoke, Middlesbrough, Bournemouth and Burnley in the subsequent five, Walter Mazzarri’s men have a chance to play their way into our plans.

Certainly, the home side will fancy their chances against a defence that’s devoid of suspended pair Kyle Walker and Jan Vertonghen after both toppled off the Suspension Tightrope last time around.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

    The Kane hate on here was so, so strong. They all can't get double digits every single GW.

        You won't do very well in fpl if you do that. You should be looking for 2300+ points. Impossible to achieve by holding players during blanks. You have to move between patches of form

              Google Optimal Dead Squad Analysis and have a look at it. You can win FPL by choosing a squad in GW1 and just leaving it. Obviously very unlikely in practice, but it shows the value of patience - players who perform should be kept - you can't look at one week performance.

                I disagree. Teams need to be actively managed to generate enough points to break into the top numbers. Clean sheets need to be hunted down. Captains must be selected weekly. And top players have to be sold and bought back as their form and fixtures fluctuate. It's the active management that takes a team from 1900+ to 2300+

                  As I said - google the articles - they are FFS articles so not some made up rubbish.

                      As I said - show some patience. There is way too much kneejerking - Kane out because he blanks a couple of weeks. Ibra out because he blanks for two weeks. Lukaku out because he blanks against Hull etc. Fair enough if they are injured, banned or rested then transfer them. But these players are class players whose records show they deliver..

                      Patience is rewarded over a 4/5/6 week period IMO. Of course you need some active management in reality, but these one week analyses are pretty high risk IMO. Worst for me is people taking hits every week off the kneejerking.

          Spot on.

          When Kane blanked in successive "easy" home games it was damaging for owners.

          Have a look at the optimal dead team squad analysis - it shows that you can generally beat the best performing FPL manager by making no hits and choosing the right players from GW1. Obviously the likelihood of that happening is very low, but it shows that patience in this game can be rewarded - you can't look at a one week performance. If there was a player who performed literally every week they would be valued at £15m and everyone would have them.

            That isn't possible this season as all the expensive players are doing well.
            A good article none the less

              I think that shows the value of patience even more. Stick with a few players who will deliver. Are Aguero, Ibra, Kane and Costa all going to massively outscore each other? Fair enough when they are banned or injured then take them out. But likelihood is that they will all score a similar number of points. Better to focus on maximising performance over a 4/5/6 week period and keep reassessing.

      I've resigned to missing out on some big points hauls, you can't have them all. You could now bring Kane in for Ibrahimovic, Ibrahimovic scores a hat trick in three weeks time, and you are back where you were again. Just be patient. People are disappointed because they sold whoever's done well.

    I'm not usually one to Wildcard so early but the below WC team is tempting me immensely. Should I?

    Current;

    Heaton
    Alonso Jones McAuley
    Sanchez Hazard Mane Lallana Phillips
    Ibra Costa

    Subs; Pickford Ake Amat Anichebe

    £0.5ITB

    Potential wildcard team;
    Heaton
    Baines Jones Ake
    Sanchez Hazard Lallana Phillips
    Ibra Costa Kane

    Subs; Grant Evans Amat De Roon
