Dugout Discussion – Liverpool vs Swansea City

Gameweek 22 gets underway this Saturday lunchtime as Liverpool welcome basement-dwellers Swansea City to Anfield at 12.30pm.

Subject to more transfers in than any midfielder in FPL last week, Philippe Coutinho is handed a first league start since Gameweek 13.

The Brazilian has three double-figure hauls in his last five home starts and faces up to a defence that’s conceded at least three goals in seven of the previous nine Gameweeks.

Adam Lallana, with a goal or assist in six of his seven home starts, is another one to watch, though Coutinho’s return could also spark Roberto Firmino back into life. The latter bagged a goal and assist against the Swans earlier in the season and is set to return to the “false 9” role against Paul Clement’s strugglers.

      My thinking with Firmino is that he'll be starting up top a lot with the upcoming schedule Liverpool have. Seems to shine in the big games.

      Minutes are always a concern with Coutinho but he brings out the best in Firmino. Liverpool will suffer w/o Mane, who looks to be going nowhere with the way Senegal are playing,so its a tough one!

      It's a total coin flip... My biggest rival to my current top spot in league has just WC'd and has Firm.
      I already have a good couple of differentials so heading towards Firm now thinking it through.

        I still had Firmino this week and got his points, but I'm selling for Eriksen this week. Liv fixtures aren't great. Bringing in Eriksen.
        - I only held him because the fixtures weren't bad and I had other fires to put out.

      Disagree. Kane has played well this situation without Dembele. Liverpool could have won today, but (i) they and the fans were not up for it enough (probably as it is an early kick-off) and (ii) they can't play twice a week as they get too tired. Against weaker teams I think they should play:

      Lallana Henderson Wijnaldum
      Coutinho Origi Firmino

      Lallana better in the deeper role. Can not offensive enough. Sturridge too selfish.

          Still the bench was strong. There is a very different mentality to playing twice a week. It is one of the reasons why when you break into the Top 6 the next season is difficult, even if you buy well. Getting the mental side right is tough. Don't think Liverpool, Everton have it. Spurs are getting there, but were foolish playing their CL games at Wembley.

        If they stick to 3-5-1-1 then he will play. I think it is Everton's best formation while Bolasie is injured as it gets the best out of Mirallas, Baines and Coleman from an attacking perspective.

        Haven't had anyone play yet but most of the guys around me at the top of my minileague have Lallana and in some cases a Liverpool defender too. Decent start to the gameweek for me.

          No - £8.5m. If you sell at or lower price you get that price. If you sell at a higher price then you have the 50% sales commission on the price increase (rounded down too)
