Overthinking? It’s what we do – don’t dare ask us to stop.

Particularly now that our heads are swimming with thoughts of blank and double Gameweeks. All those variables, all that planning and strategising: we’re in our element.

Once again, thanks to another bout of community questions, Jonty and Andy join me for another ScoutCast dominated by chatter surrounding our tactics and transfers approaching the missing fixtures.

We break off to nominate the new Premier League whipping boys, while we ponder whether to proclaim Sigurdsson as “essential”, revisit Coleman vs Baines and assess whether the blanks are reason enough to be rid of Alexis Sanchez.

For my money, that’s one decision that requires very little thinking.

This episode of the ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Wednesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

So I make a potentially foolish transfer, but considering the fixtures coming up I think its worth the risk

Holgate has been dropped as far as I'm concerned. Didn't do himself any favours in the last game which is why he was subbed at half time.

Jesus over Lukaku, put off by no GW26 and maybe GW28 for City!

It depends. On the one hand, Jesus misses 2 x GWs so you could sell, on the other hand he'll have 2 x double GWs so might be worth benching.

Depending on your other strikers and plans, you could get Lukaku in for Gw26, and hope he doesn't do much home to Bournemouth and away to Middlesbrough.

Pep is preparing a team for the future, a team that will listen to his tactics. The average age of the new front 3 is 20 so I fully see where Pep is going with it. Aguero has recieved a necessary kick up the backside, a bruised ego will get the best out of him once more.

That is very true, but I have him. I brought him in last week and didn't think Jesus would start over him. What will happen against Swansea? Bournemouth? Is it worth keeping him or taking him out and getting lets say Kane or Lukaku?

Not a good season for Aguero. My patience with him run out when he got sent off against Chelsea.

Move Kun out for Lukaku and you have a nailed top 5 striker with good fixtures and plays in the Blanks

Keep Aguero for Swansea. It's a short week and he should start. If the game doesn't go well for him then ship, but if it does go well then you have Bournemouth before a blank.

While you certainly wouldn't buy Aguero now, you're in a fortunate position as Swansea and Bournemouth are two of the leakiest defences.

Quiet convinced Jaku could get 4 points against Liverpool, but is it worth it gambling on a CS from Randolph away to southpamton ?

    1. Blunderland
      • 9 Years

I have the exact same dilemma. I'm going with Jaku this week. I feel Randolph won't get many save opportunities vs Southampton and one goal would give him 2 points. Jaku has a much higher ceiling imo.

And if Hull keep a CS, Jaku will get bonus

I don't get the Jesus love.. relying on a guy whose main output will rely on keeping Aguero on the bench... no sir far too early to make that assumption. I'd probably captain Aguero this week if I still had him.

Pep himself said Aguero and Jesus can play together. Jesus can play very well on the LW. In saying that, being reverse OOP is not ideal.

      1. Scratch
        • 16 Years

Exactly that's why i said main output. Nobody wants one of their forwards playing the wing, and Sterling will still get plenty of minutes he's done well recently.

Its Sane that might be more at risk but its really just a rest and rotation policy. Aguero sat out this week, it will be someone else next time. One things for sure though, its not always going to be one of Aguero or Jesus.

Aguero is my captain this week. That hasn't stopped me bringing in Jesus as he's clearly a Pep favourite and can play left wing or through the middle.

Of the two, I'm more likely to see Aguero after the Bournemouth game and bench Jesus, but we'll see.

It's a good move, but with Everton not blanking in GW26 and GW28, Coleman might edge him slightly. It's close though, especially long-term as you'd look to have Walker from now until you wildcard (if you still have it).

Can do 4 trades for -4 between now and before 28 for 7 BGW. Don't see the need for more. Would be

    Jaku
    Brunt Nyom Baines Holgate
    Siggy
    Carroll

      Bench would be

      Sanchez Alli Eriksen Zaha
      Kane Ibra

This is very useful to me. I am getting Siggy and Carroll too. Was thinking of moving Ibra right before Blank but I would lose a a large net in getting him back later. Will he fall much?

      Jak

Brunty - Holgate - Baines - (MWilson maybe if JEvans is crocked 28 lol)

      --------------------------------- (cough)

      Kaku

Not many right now but can trade Valencia (5.4) and maybe even Alexis (11.6) to get 7 out.

I don't think this should be in the equation. You don't have to use all the money for 6 teams in GW28, most of us will have cash in the bank.

Yeah exactly .I decided to take out some players and kept Sanchez for Blanks and even that I had 5-6m Itb in the bank. So I think the cash will be left that way anyway.

GW24, Chelsea away, 26 blank, 27, liverpool away,gw28 posible blank again. I think its only sensible to get him out. So big money role in the team to. Im doing him, ibra and cedric next 3 GWs.Carroll, Siggy and Coleman, maby in.
