I am a Fantasy Football manager, and I’m addicted to double Gameweeks. It’s a confession that the ScoutCast team are all too eager to admit in this latest ScoutCast episode.

Recorded prior to the confirmation of the first double Gameweek of the season, we were nonetheless correctly counting our chickens and allowing your multitude of community questions on Manchester City assets to steer the chatter.

Granville rejoined Jonty, Andy and myself to reinforce our investigation in Pep’s charges and to add his views to the heated Triple Captain debate surrounding Sergio Aguero. Yes, him again.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link or the first player below, or take in the full visual experience, pastry and all, via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

I have both. Ibra is my vc. Was initially cap for this gw. He may score two (one pen) with assists and max baps.
Kevin Friend has not the best penalty awarding record, but he is more likely to give one in high scoring games due to his season history. So if ManU win like 4:1, Ibra will have one chance.
      2G, 1A, 3BPS. 16 points. Real but optimistic still.
Aguero will need 2 goals asistst and 1bap in two matches.

      Going to cap Kun.

    Play Jaku or Heaton?

    Play Baines, Maguire or Phillips?

Maguire and Jakupovic double up or spread the risk with Heaton?

    Jakupovic
    Alonso / Baines / McAuley / Pieters
Firmino / Sterling (vc) / Sigurdsson
    Ibrahimovic / Kun (c) / Lukaku

    Heaton / Maguire / Phillips / T. Carroll

I would play Philips ahead of Baines and Maguire.
Also with Leicester gaining confidence I would play T. Carroll (at least 3 points) ahead of Maguire.
He is good player capable of grabbing an assist vs Burnley.

Phillips--> sane = -4. Take each case separately.

I would wait for pressers on Phillips. If Phillips is out then its obvious, sane at minimium (if no cards) will get 2x2. With a high upside.

If Phillips plays he will also play week 28 wich makes the question. Will sane score >4 points over 2 weeks? Possibly, most likely.:)

          i probably would do it!

Some thoughts on TC'ing Aguero this week.

So the two GW's are looking like 34 and 37. We're bench boosting in 37 because that's the big one. Meaning if we don't TC this week it can only be in 34.

    Options for GW34 TC:

    Ibra - Burnley(A)/Man City(A)
    Sanchez - Sunderland(H)/Southampton(A)
    Aguero - West Brom(H)/Man Utd(H)
    Gabbiadini - Chelsea(A)/Arsenal(H)

None of those options have great fixtures. Sanchez has the best but Arsenal traditionally struggle at St Mary's. If we TC this week rather than in GW34 it also allows us to wildcard in GW34 as opposed to GW33, which is useful for avoiding any potential injuries and for not having to factor in GW33 fixtures to our wildcard.

I appreciate the Aguero rotation risk but with all things considered I think I may take the risk this week. Thoughts?

    3. Pasqualinho

There will almost certainly be other DGWs than 34 and 37 for Ars, Mun and Sot - so we won't be restricted to 34 for an alternate TC.

        • Fantasy Football Scout Member

But those rescheduled from gw26 arent that attractive. I agree that TC should have secured gametime, be on pens with no other distractions involved (like fa cup or cl games), but Aguero has the best two fixtures to show his abilities.
I am not TC him, but Sanchez in gw37 has LEI, stk and classified as mid so despite BB this is my primary target. He will have no other distractions, he is not injury prone and as Cazorla is out till end of season, he is on pens.

        1. Pasqualinho
          • 16 Years

We don't yet know the fixtures for the other Ars DGWs. If they win v Lincoln the home game vs Sunderland will be moved, and could go anywhere. This will be a prime viable alternative.

            This

Arsenal might be in turmoil by then.

Sanchez looks like he's off, Ozil too unless Wenger is retained.

He might be handing out playing opportunities to the lesser players like Perez et al.

It's more risky waiting for Sanchez than dropping TC on Aguero this week IMO

    4. Fergies fledgling

Teams that make it through the FA cup QFinals won't have a double in GW34 as that is the weekend of the Semis at Wembley (which are immovable). One game might be rerranged to midweek but not both.

So probably Arsenal, Spurs, City and either Chelsea or United won't have a double that week.

Sorry but that's total conjecture. FA cup semi final weekend in gw34, probably more cancelled fixtures for Spurs, Arsenal, City and United / Chelsea, rather than your predicted dgw.

I'd get a player with a game in GW28, they have the same number of games as City (two) over the next two GW's and you won't have a City player in your squad though their poor run of fixtures.

Siggy or a Liverpool mid are good options.

Coutinho or keep Phillips and take the hit if something else comes up, four GW's is a long time to plan ahead.

God morning chaps. Gripped once again by this Double Bubble fever.

What would you do this week:
    A) Play Coleman (tot)
    B) Play Holebas (SOT)
    C) Take a hit for a Swans defender (BUR) who will also play next week.

    Thanks

Does your position in ML influence the use of TC? I'm sitting on top by about 50 points so will probably hold. If you were chasing would it be different?

Morning guys. Good to go? I guess no reason to take second hit. Can also field 9 players on GW28 with one FT.

    Foster
    Brunt, Baines, Alonso, Robertson
    Sterling, Sigurdsson, Mane
    Lukaku, Aguero, Ibrahimovic

subs: Heaton --- Clayton, Holgate, Antonio --- 0.5 ITB

For a minus 4 I have this team for the weekend:

    Heaton
    Coleman - Alonso - Pieters
Sterling (vc) - Silva - Siggy - Mane
    Costa - Carroll - Kun(c)

    Robinson - Evans - Holebas - T.Carroll.

Thinking Silva + Kun -> Firmino + Kaku next week. Gives me 9 gw28 players.

    Good to go?
