Sunday’s events begin at Selhurst Park in an encounter that’s crucial from a Premier League perspective but offers only partial Fantasy interest.

Following Swansea City’s victory at Sunderland on Saturday, relegation-threatened Crystal Palace and Hull City will go into the noon kick-off decidedly edgy, with the home side likely to be set up to avoid defeat, while the Tigers will surely need to snatch all three points.

Palace’s Wilfried Zaha is the most owned outfield player on show.

Still part of 12% of squads, the winger has nonetheless been shed by over 226,000 FPL managers over the past three Gameweeks following a dismal run of just seven points from his last five starts. That spell followed huge investment ahead of his two fixtures over Double Gameweek 34 which saw him produce a pair of 1-point returns.

Eagles boss Sam Allardyce will certainly look to Zaha to inspire his side today, along with striker Christian Benteke. The Belgian has followed a similar pattern to Zaha – spiking in ownership ahead of Gameweek 34, only to lose over 183,000 owners over the last two Gameweeks.

Benteke and his remaining owners will take some comfort from the fact that Hull City have shipped 13 goals from corners and the same number of headed goals – in both cases the most conceded in the Premier League.

But Palace have also shown fragility at set-pieces – they have also allowed 13 goals this season – a factor which could be exposed by Marco Silva’s visitors.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Sweeping generalisation. If players weren't constantly cheating refs could actually dedicate themselves to reffing the game.

I can live with the odd mistake in matches of lesser importance, but this is a relegation fight with massive financial consequences. Absolute shambles.

        Another dreadful one.

At this stage I'm starting to have serious questions about why it isn't, it isn't a cost thing. Starting to believe it's because it makes it harder to rig matches. There's nothing else I can see. Helps the refs massively as well, in fairness to them very often the game is so fast it can be very hard to call. A video ref for a reference for the ref would be invaluable.

Yes. I think there is sufficient time before that game and the final to keep up match fitness and form after a rest against Watford. Will likely play until 70mins and then be subbed.

Yeah in that way they have done very well. But in general they are a poor club with a small following and doesn't have great players or any other draws. No worth s spot in the English top league.

Hopefully 0 chance. Why would the classify a midfielder as a defender just because he doesn't score many goals?

        1. Legomane
          • 9 Years
          8 years, 10 months ago

Because his role is clearly a defensive one, and he's currently a non option in the game despite being one of the leagues top players...

If you want him to be an option the play the Sky game. There is a reason that fantasy games differ from each other so that there is variety.

Changing FPL in that way would ruin its style.

            1. Legomane
              • 9 Years
              8 years, 10 months ago

I respect your opinion, but as a newcomer to FPL (2nd season) I think minor tweaks like these can only enhance what is already a pretty awesome game.

As a seasoned veteran of FPL and other platforms I can tell you it would ruin the game. FPL is great for the "casuals" as it's free and it's simple. Changing either of those USP's would ruin the game completely.

Again, as I said. If you do like the "defensive midfielder" element to fantasy football then play the Sky game. Rather than wanting to change FPL to be like the Sky game.

Quite happy on FPL, I play for ML rather than anything else.

I understand you're a vet, but nothing else you've said has convinced me I'm wrong... you've basically just done a golf committee meeting on the matter !!! "it's always been that way, and if you'd prefer something different then check out the new club at the other side of town" 🙂
