After Alexis Sanchez ended Double Gameweek 37 with a season-high 27 points, Wednesday night’s meeting at St Mary’s has a lot to live up to.

Southampton entertain Manchester United in the penultimate showdown of a seven-day round of fixtures, and it’s fair to say that Claude Puel and Jose Mourinho both owe us a favour after their recent penchant for rotation scuppered many best-laid wildcard plans.

The Saints’ boss reinstalls a number of regulars after the 2-1 win at Middlesbrough on Saturday. Snapped up by 40,000+ and 27,000+ respectively for their second successive Double Gameweek, Jack Stephens and Manolo Gabbiadini return to the first XI along with the likes of Dusan Tadic, Nathan Redmond and Cedric Soares.

Despite mustering just a single assist in his last six league outings, Gabbiadini is his side’s most captained player, with 15,000+ handing him the armband for the Double.

Fantasy faith in United is at a low as Mourinho looks to keep his main men fresh with one eye on next week’s Europa League final against Ajax.

Marcus Rashford continues to be used sparingly on the domestic stage and is handed a third successive appearance on the bench, though Wayne Rooney is named in the first XI for the fourth successive league outing.

Having found the net in three of his last four Gameweek appearances, the Red Devils’ skipper is the most captained FPL asset among Mourinho’s starting line-up, with almost 28,000 affording him the armband.

      Yeah, I'd say that's right. I haven't watched any of Southampton's games recently though. They seem to be doing ok defensively.

    Those who have been watching Liverpool: How viable is Lallana as an option? Does he look like imminently scoring or assisting? I saw the first half of the Watford match and thought he looked excellent

    Hmmmm have exact cash to do Hazard to Coutinho and Gabbi to Rooney, was always thinking Rooney might be a decent punt on the final day but with United looking like playing the U/21's for the most part might be a bridge too far?

        Na, Vardy 9.9 so way out of reach, Rooney 8.6, could slot in Giroud (8.0) or could just do the Haz trade only and see if Gabbi can give something at the last

    If I become a member here next season, do I have to link my team and play in the league etc? That is what put me off doing it this year. If I link my team people would have my name, country I live in and a work league. It would be easy to find me online and then who knows what. Yes, I know it is paranoia but I don't care.

      I said before it should be compulsory to link your team but i take that all back
      Keeping your fpl anonymity is important in case you are compromised in a mini league

      One of my best mates lurks on here and trys to get on my case by quoting what i say on here at our Sunday night poker game not that that matters to me anything i say here i will stand by

      I might have to come back under a knew identity next season over the lurkers but it was my own fault in the first place using the name i go by as my username and linking my team

        If it were, I'd stop coming to the site or I'd just lurk and I certainly wouldn't consider paying. Especially with the risk of Lawro showing up in the middle of the night 😆

    Here is how I'm lining up for the last GW!

    Willy
    Monreal Yoshida Fuchs
    (C)outinho Sanchez Sane Erikson King
    Kane Jesus

    Pickford Yoshida Holgate Anichebe

    0FT, 2.4ITB

    What do we think?

    B. Fabregas Coutinho
    C. Fabregas Vardy

    Cech
    Yoshida - Alonso - Clichy
    Alexis - Alli - Hazard - Sané - King
    Benteke - Kane

    Bench: Pickford, Gabbi, Stephens, Gibson.

    1FT and 0.4 ITB.

    What to do for the last GW? Thinking about one of these:
    Alli --> Cout
    Haz --> Cout
    Haz and Benteke --> Cout and Jesus (Would cost -4)

    6300 overall if that matters. Aiming to both protect mostly, but also catch a 20 point lead to get the 1k money instead of just 500 quid.. Thinking of capping Cout if I bring him in.

    Think I've narrowed my GW38 transfers down to three options:

    A) Hazard & Gabbiadini ➡️ Fabregas & Sturridge
    B) Hazard & Gabbiadini ➡️ Coutinho & Giroud
    C) Hazard & JWP ➡️ Coutinho & Fabregas

    Thoughts?

    Waking up to the news that my Rudy Gestede has matched Gabbiadini's dgw points total. It is a little funny, ouch for those who were brave (or crazy) enough to captain him though!

        Not feeling the Pickford for this game. It's my Kane vs his Davies left this week so I'll assess the points after. Cheers

      No. Pickford just got 5pts in a game he conceded 2 goals in. If it wasn't for Sanchez second goal, he'd have scored 7pts in a game he conceded in without the help of a pen save. Chelsea game should follow similar pattern.

      Looking like a choice between a hit or a playing a Saint attacker this week. Not ideal. Stuck.

      ---------------Caballero------------------
      ------Alonso Mustafi Yoshida-------
      Sanchez Hazard Alli Eriksen JWP
      --------------Kane Jesus----------------
      ------------------------------------------------
      ---DDG Gabbiadini Clichy Holgate---

      1 FT, 0.1 ITB

      A) Hazard > Coutinho (Just the FT means playing a Saint attacker)
      B) Hazard, Gabbiadini > Coutinho, Giroud -4 (bench JWP)
      C) Hazard, JWP > Coutinho, Fabregas -4 (bench Gabbiadini)
      D) Something else?

      I guess it's Giroud vs Fabregas vs JWP + 4

        Hi guys, please help me with for GW 38.
        A. Hazard -> KDB
        B. Hazard -> Coutinho
        C. Hazard -> Ozil
        D. Alli -> Coutinho
        E. Hazard & T Carroll -> Cou & King (-4)

        Note : I likely will play h2h with someone who has KDB, should I buy him for playing safe?
        My other MID are Sanchez, Eriksen.

        Cheers, thank you.

        current OR 8k. I just want to finish with a 4 digit rank, don't care if it's 1000 or 9999. So what is the mathematically correct move to make with 1 FT, with % selection taken into account.

        Cech
        Alonso - Monreal - Yosh
        Sanchez - Eriksen - KDB - King
        Kane - Jesus - Gabb

        Cab - Capoue - Steph - Holgate

        GW38 - 1FT
        ---------
        A) Ozil > Coutinho
        B) Gabb > Vokes
