Gameweek 15 saw the launch of  Fantasy Eliteserien and this week there is a further development, as for the first time we have to cope with blank fixtures.

BLANKS AND EUROPE

As mentioned there are a couple of blanks this gameweek. Vålerenga, Haugesund, Odd and Tromsø are the teams without a fixture. Defenders from Odd and Haugesund (as well as Tollås Nation from Vålerenga) and attacking players like Zahid (Vålerenga), Hajradinovic (Haugesund) and Aron Sigurdarson (Tromsø) are in general very good picks for your Fantasy Eliteserien team, but sadly all skip a fixture in Gameweek 16.

Another thing worth mentioning is Brann, Odd, Haugesund and Rosenborg all have Europe qualifiers midweek next week. Brann travel to Slovakia to play against MFK Ruzomberok 13th July, with the return fixture being played 20th July. Between the two qualifiers Brann have a home fixture against Sarpsborg 16th July.

Odd travel to Liechtenstein to play against Vaduz 13th July, a home fixture against Viking 16th July and return fixture against Vaduz 20th July. Haugesund have a home fixture against Lech Poznan 13th July, home fixture against Aalesund 16th July and return fixture against Lech Poznan 16th July.  Rosenborg are playing a Champions League qualifier away against Dundalk 12th July, away against Sogndal 15th July and home against Dundalk 19th July.

I think we can expect some rotation from these teams, especially in Gameweek 17. Odd and Haugesund blank this Gameweek, but it’s worth keeping an eye on Rosenborg’s and Brann’s team sheets. It’s worth noting that Rosenborg’s match is first up this Gameweek, so we’ll most likely know the lineup before deadline.

FANTASY LEAGUE STANDINGS

Colmans Mustard is still leading the Fantasy Football Scout League, although he only managed to score 41 points which is less than most of his competitors.

In the H2H league FC Smack has taken the lead after Dutch Warriors have suffered two defeats in a row.

STOCK CHECK

Rising

Per Kristian Bråtveit (5.1, Haugesund, goalkeeper)

Haugesund are in great defensive form, having kept four clean sheets in the last five. In the 1-1 draw against Viking he still managed to score a respectable four points. After his blank this gameweek he’s definitely one to consider.

Piotr Leciejewski (5.4, Brann, goalkeeper), Amin Nouri (5.8, Brann, defender) and Vito Wormgoor (5.3, Brann, defender)

Brann have now started to keep clean sheets like we expected them to do, with three clean sheets in the last four. In the 1-1 draw against Sarpsborg Leceijewski managed to score seven points after an amazing performance, while Wormgoor scored Brann’s goal.

Wormgoor has picked up five bonus points in the last four, while Leciejewski have picked up three.

Nouri has been mentioned multiple times in these articles and has racked up four assist and one goal so far this season.

Acosta and Kristiansen are also worth keeping if you own them, as well as Rolantsson (although his attacking returns have dried up). It is worth noting that Leciejewski is most likely being sold to a Polish club in the summer break, while Nouri might leave as well.

Aleksander Melgalvis (4.5, Lillestrøm, defender)

The Lillestrøm defender has  been doing well lately in a right midfield role. Against Strømsgodset he kept a clean sheet, while he racked up three assisst, a goal and three bonus points in the previous three games.

Christoffer Remmer (5.3, Molde, defender)

After Molde changed to three at the back, Remmer has been doing well in his wing-back role. He’s assisted three goals in the last three, as well as being involved in goals without getting an assist. Definitely one to watch, although Molde are not a great defensive team right now.

Samuel Adegbenro (7.2, Viking, midfielder)

He continues to dominate matches even though he plays for a poor team. He’s such a standout player in his team that he seems to be picking up bonus points no matter how badly his team plays. He has actually been among the bonus points in the last five matches he’s played, picking up a total of 10 bonus points in those five fixtures. He’s very likely to leave Viking in the summer, but he said he won’t rule out staying at Viking until the end of the season to help them avoid relegation. He will most likely go abroad if he’s sold.

Luc Kassi (6.0, Stabæk, midfielder)

Kassi continues to fly under the radar. In his last four matches (excluding the one where he was suspended) he has got attacking returns, scoring twice and assisting two. He’s also got bonus points in three of those games.

Jean Alassane Mendy (5.3, Kristiansund, forward)

This guy is hot right now. He got his biggest haul yet with two goals and three bonus points against Rosenborg at home. He has now scored in five of the last six games, picking up six bonus points after scoring as many goals. Can he keep it up? I’m not sure, but he’s definitely the in-form player right now.

Matthias Vilhjalmson (8.4, Rosenborg, forward)

Vilhjalmson got another start up front for Rosenborg and delivered a goal and an assist. He has now scored three goals and assisted two in his last four games. Sadly, I think Bendtner may get a start next gameweek, especially with the Champions League qualifiers coming up. He can also be moved down to CM, which isn’t ideal for a forward in this game. Rosenborg’s lineup will most likely be out before deadline, so if he’s starting up front he might be worth a shout for the captaincy if you dare to transfer him in.

Björn Bergmann Sigurdarson (10.0, Molde, forward)

I’ve said this a couple of times before and I say it again: You need Bjørn Bergmann Sigurdarson in your team. Molde aren’t on fire at the moment, but he’s scoring steadily and in my opinion he’s the best forward in Eliteserien. Against Viking he should have scored more than one goal, which has been the case a couple of times before this season. Even though he should have scored more, he’s now scored in three games in a row and now has a total of eight goals (and three assists).

Falling

Andreas Lie (5.2, Aalesund, goalkeeper)

He looked like a great option at the start of the season, but having failed to keep a clean sheet for five games in a row I think it’s safe to say there are better options out there. Aalesund’s defence are definitely not the best one at the moment.

Thomas Grøgaard (6.1, Odd, defender)

The popular Odd defender have now missed two games in a row due to injury. With a blank coming up this gameweek and possible rotation due to Europa League qualifiers he’s the most sold player this gameweek.

Rosenborg defenders

Rosenborg defenders disappointed their owners again by letting in three goals against Kristiansund. A clean sheet against Sogndal in gameweek 14 is the only clean sheet in the last seven games.

Julian Ryerson (4.4, Viking, defender)

An early season bandwagon that’s failed to live up to the hype. He’s done okay in a poor Viking side, but that doesn’t give us any returns. In the last 10 games he’s only scored more than two points once, when he picked up two bonus points against Kristiansund at home. Actually he’s scored one point or less in eight of the last 10 games.

Tonny Brochmann (7.0, Stabæk, midfielder)

Three blanks in a row and Stabæk out of form. A few gameweeks ago he was the highest scoring player in the game, now he’s one of the most sold players this gameweek.

Riku Riski (7.1, Odd, midfielder)

Riski did look like a great pick a few gameweeks ago, now he’s blanked six games in a row. Odd are struggling for goals and have scored just two goals in the last six games. It’s time for his owners to ship him out.

Mike Jensen (10.3, Rosenborg, midfielder) and Fredrik Midtsjø (8.5, Rosenborg, midfielder)

They are still some of the highest owned players in the game. Jensen have blanked four games in a row and only scored more than five points in gameweek 1, while Midtsjø have blanked three games in a row and not scored above five points since gameweek 3. Certainly more value to be found elsewhere, especially if you own Jensen.

Patrick Mortensen (7.4, Sarpsborg, forward)

After a great start to the season, Mortensen have been frustrating his owners lately. In the last 10 games he’s blanked eight times. In the two games he’s scored, he’s picked up maximum bonus points. With a good fixture coming up against Lillestrøm he might be worth keeping if you still own him.

DIFFERENTIALS FOR GAMEWEEK 16

Bassel Jradi (6.6, Strømsgodset, midfielder)

Jradi returns from suspension this gameweek with a great home fixture against Kristiansund. He’s been looking good lately and I’d back him to do well against Kristiansund. He’s a good differential with only 4% ownership.

Eirik Ulland Andersen (7.9, Strømsgodset, midfielder)

With his 3.9% ownership (although I suspect most of those 3.9% are active players) he’s also a great differential this gameweek. Both Andersen and his team mate Jradi are players capable of scoring and assisting goals.

Jean Alassane Mendy (5.3, Kristiansund, forward)

I don’t think this man needs any more introduction as he’s been mentioned above. Strømsgodset aren’t the best defensive team and this man is very hot right now. With 2.3% ownership he can be a great differential this week with all the blanks.

This week all three differentials are attacking players from the same game, so brace yourself for a crushingly inevitable 0-0.

Interesting... maybe I will get both Jradi and Andersen for this week, I can see Kristiansund facing an anticlimax after the monster match against RBK. It's a one week transfer for me as I still have my wildcard to use.

It could go wrong, but I can see Strømsgodset doing well here. Three home games in the next four as well, although it's not so relevant for you with your WC.

It's also tempting to get a RBK striker in if after seeing the line up, my double RBK defense isn't doing me any favours lately. Something like Reginiussen > Parr, Lindberg > Vilhjamson (K). Not the most inspirational transfers though...

RBK striker is definitely a good punt.

Doesn't have to be inspirational to bring in big points. Sometimes it's better to do the obvious moves rather than trying to be too clever (always my temptation)

I won't touch the Rosenborg strikers right now as there are so much uncertainty long term, but it's great punt in your situation.

Around 10k overall with 19 transfers left.

Porte, Roglic and Cavendish set me back a bit.

A bit unlucky. I've enjoyed a good start, 364 overall with 18 transfers left. Could have had a couple more transfers if I planned it better though..

Thanks Niemi - great effort. Maybe next week could be a "transfer window special" as I find this the most difficult element to stay updated on as a non-Norwegian speaker! Really useful info on Leceijewski in the article for example.

I could try, although I have to admit I'm not fully updated on every team myself. Maybe it's better to do such an article in the summer break, or would you guys prefer it before next GW?

Viking have signed a croatian CB and Tommy Høiland (Strømsgodset), while Ledger has returned to Sunderland and Appiah to Crystal Palace. Viking have turned down bids for Adegbenro from two 2. Bundesliga club, but might sell for the right offer. They are looking to add more new faces. Torsteinbø from Swedish club Hammarby is a likely signing.

Tromsø have turned down multiple bids from Twente for Aron Sigurdarson. There were rumours that Twente have now started to look elsewhere, but Sigurdarson is desperate to go there.

Brann recieved at least two bids from a Polish club for Leciejewski and he looked likely to go, but it's been very quiet lately.

Rosenborg have turned down bids from APOEL for Skjelvil. Diatta at Sarpsborg is attracting loads of attention. He could become a great differential if he stays at Sarpsborg.

Ok, well it doesn't have to be just the whole article I suppose, just a run down of the latest market activity (like the above) would be very helpful.

By the sounds of things a few of us are on wc next week so don't want to bring someone in who is just about to leave!

        Thanks again

Cheers for the article. Very useful on europe & transfer info above.

Still can't decide where to use up a FT. RBK fwd would be nice for GW16 but rotation risk, double SIF mids may prove overkill for next week's away game. Odd mid (or perhaps Molde) may be good, but from GW17. Would be nice if Brann had a consistently scoring fwd.

I don't think there are any good midfielder picks from Odd or Molde currently. Svendsen could be a decent pick if he's fit again.

I have a good enough squad to bench one of the SIF mids if I double up next gameweek.

        1. MTPockets
            8 years, 10 months ago

Agree on not right now for Odd/Molde. But decent fixtures if they can pick it up.

Any suggestions? 1m ITB & 2FT so need to use one.
Thinking Ohi -> Vilhjalmsson (if he starts_, A.Sig -> Adegbenro, or Lie -> Kristiansen (rotates okish with Linde for a while).

            Lie
            Rolantsson, Hedenstad, Moe
            Jevtovic, Gyasi, Andersen, Haugen
            Mortensen, BBS, Ohi
            (Linde, A.Sigurdarson, Seck, Ruud)

            1. Niemi
              • 11 Years
              8 years, 10 months ago

I would prefer to get rid of Lie or Linde to be honest, but Bråtveit would be my preferred player in. Sadly he blanks this GW. You could do Linde or Lie to Bråtveit though to set you up for the coming gameweeks and not waste a transfer?

Ohi>Vilhjalmson is also an option if he starts, but it's very short term and I personally think Bendtner will start.

Would prefer to find a better option than Moe this gameweek, but I'm in the same boat as you and can't find any good replacements so I'll most likely keep him. I'm tempted by Megalvis, but his fixture is worse than Moe IMO. Albech would have been tempting if he was nailed, but seems to have lost his place in the starting lineup.

              1. MTPockets
                  8 years, 10 months ago

                  Thanks for that.

Bråtveit - unfortunately has same A/H as both Lie and Linde from GW19 for a while (and I think GW20 blank where I'd have to play away keeper). And not great rotation with either until then.

Vilhjalmsson - would be short term hope but pragmatically agree on Bendtner. He's in my picks actually.

Moe - yep ideally he'd go asap. Could do it if combined with 2nd transfer, but want to keep 2FT for the break. Possibly Melgalvis, or Bergan and risk Seck this week.

I'm not a fan of GK rotation in this game (or in FPL for that matter), but if that's what you're after I wouldn't get him. Personally I think I'll get Bråtveit in for Leciejewski after the summer break (assuming Leciejewski is sold) and play him every week. I prefer to have either have the backup keeper as my 2nd GK or a cheap playing 4.0 keeper (as is the case now with McDermott).

I don't think Bergan is nailed. He's been quite lucky as both Semb Berge have been out for a while and then Hagen got injured. Semb Berge also got a red card in gameweek 14. I think he'll find the bench eventually when both are fit.

                    1. MTPockets
                        8 years, 10 months ago

GK - to be fair my rotations this season & last in FPL have been disastrous, so perhaps I should reexamine it. I'd look at Leciejewski/Rossbach if not for likely move/blank.

Bergan - I didn't consider any of that. Back to the transfer list...

Have 2FTs but not much itb, thinking of raising some cash by Ohi to Mendy/Stokke. Would also allow an upgrade of Brochmann next week, good plan?

Not very good away record until recently, but certainly have form on goals.
I don't think they have the easiest fixtures but last couple of games blew (my) expectations somewhat.

I'm probably benching Mendy this week as well unless Helland's injured. I just don't have much faith in Kristiansund, especially away. They did score four away against Stabæk, but before that they barely scored away from home.

I've Ohi and Brochmann at present, the latter being benched this week as it stands, but tempted to sell Ohi as well given lack of form.

I'd play Ohi (on fixture/team form). STB at home better than KBK away & Brann away worse than SIF at home.

But not with great confidence, due to relative individual form.

Right, blanks have been dealt with, but only so far that I have to play either Seck or Storbaeck against Rosenborg, and bench the other. Thoughts on who stays on and who goes bench?

Bit of a coin flip. I'd bench Seck just because don't see them keeping a clean sheet away.
Guess if there's a G/A Seck as likely to get it as Storbaeck though.

Storbæk has two goals and two assist and Seck has three goals and two assist. I think Seck actually has as good of a chance as Storbæk for attacking returns. If he does get attacking returns (or somehow keep a CS) he's more likely for bonus as well.

On the other hand, if things turn ugly... He could get a low (or negative) score.

Ta. Assuming no bad surprises in RBK lineup, think I'll do Linde to Rossbach.

What Niemi says below. Not sure on defenders; perhaps Rosted (Sarpsborg) for this week at least.
Rosenborg's lineup should be out before the deadline, so can check it first.

                            Strømsgodset = Andersen or Jradi
                            Rosenborg = Helland or Jevtovic

I am thinking about getting Adegbenro and Andersen this GW with 2 fts and got my WC still anyway for fixing things the following GW

                            Current team

                            Lie (McDermott)

                            Mikalsen Hedenstad Rolantsson Vilsvik Ruud

                            Knudtzon Koomson Matthew Midtsjo Sigurdarson

                            Omo Sigurdarson Shuaibu

Any better options to get for this GW?

i can only get them in for Midtsjo and Koomson though, which will leave me with both Knudtzon and Matthew playing this GW

Think I'd get Andersen just b/c don't have to worry about rotation (check the article info on europe qualifiers).
Doesn't mean Andersen will actually outscore Jevtovic though if the latter starts every game.

One is a rotation risk with Bendtner, the other an injury concern. Both good picks if they start (which we will know before the deadline).

Can't find any good defensive options with good upcoming fixtures except Odd. And they are not playing this week. Surely doesn't make sense to bring an Odd defender this week, right?

Yeah it's frustrating. I might (keeper) as need to use a FT anyway but otherwise probably doesn't make sense.

Went with Kirkeskov > Rosted for now. Will look to offload Mos too. Don't know his replacement yet though. Maybe Mortensen or Mendy. I'm not sure.

If you can carry the transfer over to next gameweek, then I would recommend doing that. Then maybe you can get that Odd defender at a lower price.

But if you must use the transfer this week, then bringing in an Odd defender in preparation for upcoming fixtures wouldn't be a bad idea.

I did Ruud -> Nouri this week (as part of a wildcard), but I strongly considered reversing that move so that I wouldn't have to use a regular transfer bringing Ruud back next week. I decided to stay with Nouri, though.

                                      Nice.

I'll wait one week before I get Kastrati.

Brochmann and Jevtovic > Helland (K) and Andersen for me.

I'm down to 2 defenders this GW, but Meling should get some game time.

Vilhjalmsson playing in the same position that he has been recently, or further back?

Never mind. I got the deadline wrong by half an hour. "Stuck" with Vilhjalmsson (c), and Jevtovic in starting 11 (Mendy first on bench).

Midfield according to altomfotball. No idea if correct but pretty sure Vilhjalmsson's scored starting there this season.
Decent captain pick imo. I've swapped Jevtovic-Midtsjo back again (but not captained).

Thanks. Was hoping he'd be starting up front on his own, with Bendtner rested for CL.

Disappointed to see Jevtovic not starting. I only brought him in this week for the first time. I was on a wildcard, so if I hadn't got the deadline wrong I probably would have done Vilhjalmsson & Jevtovic to Mos & a midfielder up to the value of 8.4m.

So made a plucky Captains Poll pick for Schulze - but for my team bottled it and went for Jevtovic instead...
                                    Jevtovic starts on the bench...
                                    Schulze hattie incoming...

That was a bit short sighted of me to bring in Jevtovic on reflection, though if he plays midweek this would rule him out of Europe for any perspective buyers, so maybe he'll stay?

Is anyone else losing patience with Ohi? No +1 goal showing since GW4.

Next week another earlier RBK game so should get lineups beforehand again.

Vilhjalmsson goal. Helland or Jensen assist.
