After Aaron Mooy fired Huddersfield to victory over Newcastle, we make our way to Wembley as Tottenham Hotspur and Chelsea go head-to-head in Sunday’s final fixture.

A victory for Spurs today would set a new club record of 15 successive home league wins, yet their record in competitive matches at Wembley – two wins, one draw and seven losses – is anything but convincing.

Subject to over 164,000 transfers out last week, Harry Kane has now gone 11 Premier League matches in August without finding the net.

Yet Kane was still the second most captained player for Gameweek 2, handed the armband by 526,000+ FPL managers as he looks to recover from last Sunday’s blank at Newcastle.

Both Christian Eriksen and Dele Alli plundered the points at St James’ Park to put Kane in the shade.

They also combined for both goals in the corresponding fixture last season, with Eriksen supplying assists for Alli’s pair of strikes in a 2-0 home win over the champions.

For Chelsea, Alvaro Morata is handed his first start after emerging from the bench to bag a goal and assist in last week’s shock home loss to Burnley.

But there’s no Eden Hazard as he fails to recover from an ankle injury in time for the Wembley encounter.

Paul Is certain he won't make the same mistakes next season. Follow them on Twitter

How will the champions league affect Liverpool's assets with their heavy metal brand of football ?
Yesterday was an example of Liverpool looking some what leggy (if someone could show a distance covered comparison would be brilliant). Also does this increase threat of rotation (Salah) and mane (reduced minutes). Simple as, can we expect them to produce a similar output compared to last year ?

Very good point , I keep faith in Salah as hopefully he ll still.produce the goods when he pays

This was my worry from the beginning of the season. No way can the first X11 hammer it like that twice a week. I'm offing Liverpool players once CL begins.

      1. Permian23

Ok but even with rotation, the core side will still be "leggy". How did Koop achieve it with Dortmund- he got to the final with them. Did he rotate loads? Or change tactics/pressing?

    4. @persecuted_by_mods
      8 years, 11 months ago

I think we can expect pretty much the same, strong start lots of goals, weak defence and then stutter late in the season when they're tired, they do have Solanke and Sturridge could remain fit so there's a few new options Grujic Ings etc

    Better move for this week?

    A) Ake ➡ Jones
    B) KDB ➡ Eriksen
    C) KDB & Ake ➡ Eriksen & Trippier/Jones (-4)

Won't do B or C if KDB gets good returns tomorrow. But if he blanks again I think it's a good move.

Anyone who saw todays game at Wembley - any feedback on Trippier vs Davies? Everyone seems keen on Trippier, but on the radio (TalkSport - so in and out) it sounded like Davies was creating a few chances at the attacking end. If he holds a spot, Davies could be an interesting Spurs differential if it appears that Trippier playing won't mean he is necessarily out.

    Cheers!

Could be like Alli/Eriksen where the preferred option switches from game to game. My main concern with Davies is Rose returning
