Two Gameweeks down and already the dilemmas are building; the siren song of the Wildcard button is calling.

Failing big hitters are the major bone of contention as Jonty, Andy and Luke join me for the second ScoutCast of the season.

We give our verdicts on Spurs talisman Harry Kane, while also assessing the fall-out from Manchester City and, in particular, the shot-shy Kevin De Bruyne.

Driven by another round of community questions, we also chew over The Pogba vs Mkhitaryan debate and the big Bournemouth bail out, before previewing Gameweek 3.

Oh, and after his ten point return on the Aaron Mooy investment, we wrestle to prevent Jonty dropping his name into the conversation at every opportunity. I think I counted two. That’s a win for everyone involved.

This ScoutCast was first beamed live via our YouTube channel on Tuesday night. Be sure to subscribe to get notice of future live episodes.

If you’re a traditional type, you can acquire the mp3 audio version via this link on the first player below, or take in the full visual experience via the second player below.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

    Mooy or Richarlison? Why?

    Thank you.

      Richarlison
      More talented
      Better manager
      Better team

      Mooy
      More nailed
      A little cheaper

Richarlison: 6 shots all in the box and 4 key passes.

      Mooy: Meh

Richarlison is probably worth the risk of Mooy is your other option.

Word of warning on Richarlison - he's a young guy, no English, will be eased in. Expect some benchings

Manager's also young and portuguese. I'm sure he can help big rich if he has trouble with the language.

    For draft players:

Would you get in Rose now while you can?

If so, I have to boot out one of Jones, PvA, Blind Kompany or Bertie. Which one or none?

The money making wildcard schemes are long gone!

Last few seasons the market has been so slow so makes no difference now for monies really. You might save .1 on a player dropping and then getting back if you wana keep but that looks about it

There's no reason to wildcard that team. You'll need to deal with Gross and Stephens, eventually, but Firmino to Hernandez next week should give you the cash you need.

Sterling replaced him and basically played just as far forward, so it hardly seems he was taken off because of the red card. He was completely absent in the first half and Pep needed a spark is how I read it.

When Arnie is back from suspension and with Antonio and Lanzini fit, who would miss out for West Ham?

Their front six will likely have their two central midfielders and Chicarito and then which three from Arnie, Ayew, Antonio and Lanzini play?

Funnily enough, I once won a ML by the 'fewest transfers' tiebreaker 😛

Chance of repeating that are very slim though! I think the move makes sense until City assets become clearer. Give some me funds for future moves too.

Would any of you drop Sterling or Son for Jesé/Richarlison in a draft league? The old frequently benched but explosive vs nailed and steady points debate.

    Cheers!

Not this week. Own Son in draft and will play every week.

Cheers TM. Yep, already benched Sterling last week in place of Ramsey and Monreal, don't want to make the same mistake again!

Only problem is I know those two will be snapped up this week by others if I don't get a waiver in. It's a high quality league unfortunately.

Sterling out before Son in that case if you want a new mid.

Think I'll hold then. Son will get game time and a few starts when champions league rotation kicks in.

              Midfield is:

              Ozil, Tadic, Ramsey, Sterling, Son.

I would do Sterling to Jesé. Don't let the next three tough fixtures scare you away in a season-long format.

With Koscielny back, is Bellerin likely to miss out? i.e. Koscielny to partner Monreal and Mustafi in central defence, with Ox and Kolasinac as wing-backs?

    1. Turbolag
      • 10 Years

One of Bellerin and Ox is likely getting benched.

Strong rumours Mustafi is leaving. Bellerin was awful at the weekend, Wenger might try Ox at right wing back as he was singing his praises at the presser.

Probably Kosc, Holding/Per, Monreal as back 3.

I'd say so yeah. If you have him, I'd look to ship (preferably for Kola). Wouldn't bring him in either.

I'd hold out on Spurs for now. Strong Aurier rumours and imminent Rose return. Bailly/Jones? Or even Alonso if budget stretches.

Thanks. Yes, United defence is another possibility. Nothing in the bank so can't get Alonso sadly. I might still get Davies though - Rose's return has been imminent for a few months now 😀

    Foster, Elliot
    Alonso, Jones, Hagazi (Mee, Mbemba)
    Mkhitaryan, Sanchez, Eriksen, RLC
    Firmino, Kane(C), Chicarito

    Thoughts on this WC team?

Rotating RLC with Carroll and Mee with Hegazi

      352/442 Salah, Quaner and 3 rotating 4.5s

He's a quality pick. The ill feeling towards him is because he was rested last week, nothing to do with his returns. I think he could match Mané for £0.5m less.

If he keeps penalties and there's as many as last season then there's a chance.

Firmino's problem is the classification as a forward, otherwise yes, certainly.

As Batigol said penalties are the deciding factor. Fair to say Mane/Salah receive little clean sheet points. Extra goal points for Mane/Salah for say 8 goals could be cancelled out with Firmino scoring two penalties
