The Manchester clubs are united in tormenting Fantasy Football managers.

In fairness, we should have expected Pep Guardiola’s City teamsheet to prove a source of frustration. It should come as no real surprise.

Even so, he seems determined to baffle us.

Having withdrawn Gabriel Jesus at half-time on Monday night following Kyle Walker’s dismissal, it appeared to signal that Guardiola’s affections were leaning towards Sergio Aguero for the lone striker role.

But just six days later, it was Aguero who made way as the City manager shuffled his formation and personnel in a bid to solve the frustration of Monday’s misses.

Aguero travelled to the Vitality Stadium today on the back of seven goals in his last seven away trips. He was backed by over 265,000 (5.7%) Fantasy Premier League managers with the captaincy.

Inevitably, Jesus took his opportunity to justify his selection. He served up his first goal of the season at Bournemouth having been sold by over 119,000 managers, triggering a 0.1 drop in price.

To make matters worse Aguero, along with today’s other omission from Monday’s teamsheet – John Stones – were both introduced from the bench by Guardiola. Auto-subs and Vice Captains were nullified.

City’s formation change – a move to 4-3-3 – also saw Kevin De Bruyne retreated alongside David Silva and Fernandinho as part of a central three.

That role muted his goal threat and again left him probing around the fringes of City’s 2-1 victory.

Statistically, the Belgian was still the most creative player in Gameweek 3 so far, providing four chances and laying on a big chance for Nicolas Otemendi who struck the post.

But those brief flashes will be lost on his Fantasy owners. They will continue to plot the exit of a 10.0 priced asset that has delivered three successive blanks. De Bruyne has already been sold more than any other player since the passing of today’s deadline.

As for United, while they engineered a 2-0 victory over a stubborn Leicester City at Old Trafford, Fantasy managers were left smarting by Romelu Lukaku’s penalty miss.

It remains to be seen if this dents Lukaku’s stock. There will be an ongoing debate on whether he will retain spot-kicks and whether Paul Pogba could be the beneficiary in waiting.

But for now, we can only consider what comes next in this current Gameweek.

Captained by over 1.7 million (37.3%) FPL managers, Lukaku’s zero point return sat alongside Aguero’s failing and a first blank from Pogba to set up Sunday’s performers.

Spurs’ Harry Kane now heads into a Wembley date with Burnley sporting over 741,000 armbands. Some 53% of his 1.3 million owners have trusted him as their skipper.

Confidence in Kane has been dented following his two single point returns, but now the scene is set for him to deliver the season’s first major twist.

A double-figure tally would cause a significant swing. Couple that with an impressive performance from Arsenal’s Alexis Sanchez and it would represent a turning point that could spark transfer hits and Wildcards aplenty.

While Saturday disappointed, it means that Sunday could be huge for all kinds of reasons.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Here's why I'm holding KDB for one more day (this is for everyone considering that option):

Sanchez explodes, can do KDB to Sanchez and then Gabbiadini to Ayew or Abraham.

Eriksen goes off, straight swap, wait to catch eriksen price rise

Alli goes off, straight swap, wait to catch alli price rise

Hazard scores in international break, and people are questioning to bring him in, Boom, KDB to Hazard, and Your 6 mid or 7 striker to an equally good option.

SO MANY OPTIONS, I'm chasing points, not chasing 0.1 million.

PS that first scenario works if you have 1 mil in bank only. sorry :/

What points are you chasing with KDB playing deeper than Fernandinho? Why not just go now on Alli/Erik and watch them go off while being in your team?

Get injured. If i go now I cant see how well Sanchez and Hazard do. This could be the perfect time to get one of them in, don't want to do a premature transfer.

So many will be watching the fight tonight thinking "what if"...

Surely McGregor can't win in a sport he's never had a professional fight in.....but what if?

Ali v Wepner the inspiration for Rocky films
Holmes v Cooney, for years the biggest money fight ever

Total mismatched fights, but in common they had one thing. A white underdog.

Boxing is a Hispanic and black sport in America. The white majority that makes a fight sell much wider only gets interested when a white underdog might, just might shock the black champion.

Nothing new. Apart from the MMA bit. Promoters know this. That's why this is happening.

I'm a boxing fan and a McGregor fan.. McGregor has no right to win unless he corners Mayweather and goes to town on him for a round either boxing himself out of it or knocking him out

          It makes sense for both

McGregor gets more than he's earned in his entire MMA career for a no lose situation. If he loses, nobody cares.

Mayweather gets money like he got for Pacquiao but the opponent is nowhere near as risky. Top money and 50-0 record for out boxing a minimal risk opponent

Yep this, a great big con and people are paying it, marketed racially and Mayweather is retired and punches from him on McGregor with them big gloves aren't going to hurt him from what he's used to, so will just lose and wipe his browl and get a big fat cheque.

So if I have Willian and Jesus, are they not playing GW 4 due to the international break? This brings up my other problem. I am a KDB owner. So do I worry about getting him out tonight for:

I think the South American players are most unpredictable whether they will play after international breaks. I currently have William and Chicharito who both have 2 international games and therefore could be rested on their return.

Considering KDB will most likely line up against Liverpool on return from international duty are there more pressing transfers to deal with in regard to South American/North American players?

The only reason it was removed was due to uncertainty of the broadcaster.

The game couldn't be played on a Saturday due to Arsenal's automatic qualification to EL, and the TV matches were not picked at the time. Therefore you remove the game from the schedule to not trick fans.

Anyone know if Monie looked good today? Looking to ship him and Kdb. Unsure about Monie with West Ham coming up.
