Chaps and Chapettes, welcome to the Community Watch Tournament!
The freshly-formed Community Watch Committee are delighted to announce this new tournament where teams such as Camerooney, Germané and Georgia Boyd will compete to win our coveted Community Watch League!
How does it work then?
The tournament consists of 20 teams, each with 7-10 members.
Every team will be led by a manager-cum-player who will pick six players to start each Gameweek, including a weekly captain who will score double points. The remaining players will be sent to the substitutes bench.
A team’s total is the sum of these six player’s FPL scores, with the captain’s score counted as double. Bench Boost and Triple Captain chips will not affect this total.
These 20 teams will then compete in a mammoth head-to-head league.
When two teams face each other the team with the greater score will win and claim three points. If they have the same team score it will be a draw and both teams will receive one point. A loss garners no points.
Who is it for?
Anybody who is part of the FFS Community with an FPL team and Grav can enter.
We ask that you currently have a Gravatar to ensure we get maximum long-term tournament participation. For more information on how to get a Grav, see the Fantasy Football Scout FAQ section.
When will it run from?
The tournament will span a total of 19 fixtures from Gameweek 6 all the way to Gameweek 27, with some scheduled blanks in between.
How are the teams picked?
Managers will recruit their team-mates through an email-based bidding system. Players will be divided up into tiers based on their FPL history. The bidding will run from Gameweek 2 through to Gameweek 5 (more information will be available in an article scheduled around August 21)
