Jose Mourinho is set to be without the injured Paul Pogba when Manchester United face Everton. Sadio Mane is suspended for Liverpool’s home meeting with Burnley, while Burnley goalkeeper Tom Heaton is set for a long spell on the sidelines due to a shoulder injury.

Paul Pogba suffered a hamstring injury in Manchester United’s 3-0 win over FC Basel, and will miss the visit of Everton to Old Trafford on Sunday. The France international is set to be sidelined for at least a month, with Marouane Fellaini pushing for a start in his absence after scoring in the midweek win over Basel. Mourinho’s press conference later this afternoon will off the full prognosis.

Liverpool will be without the suspended Sadio Mane for the home encounter against Burnley. Jurgen Klopp could turn to Philippe Coutinho, on the left of the front three, with the Senegal international set to miss the next two Gameweeks.

Tom Heaton will be missing at Anfield. He has undergone surgery on the dislocated shoulder he suffered last Sunday and is set to be ruled out for a couple of months. Nick Pope will take over in goal for the trip to Anfield.

Ryan Fraser is expected to recover from an ankle injury to be fit for tonight’s home clash against Brighton & Hove Albion.

Meanwhile, Bruno (back problem) has been given the all clear and is fit for tonight’s encounter.

Mauricio Pellegrino will decide today whether Virgil van Dijk will be involved in Southampton’s trip to Crystal Palace after the defender played 90 minutes for the U23s on Monday. We await news from Roy Hodgson and the Eagles camp later today.

Steve Mounie is a doubt for Huddersfield Town’s home meeting with Leicester City due to a knock, but is expected to return to training today.

As for the Foxes, they have major doubts over both Matty James (hamstring) and Christian Fuchs (eye problem), but Craig Shakespeare has revealed that Kelechi Iheanacho and Vicente Iborra are available.

Geoff Cameron will miss the trip to Newcastle after suffering a hamstring injury, while Ryan Shawcross remains doubtful due to a back problem.

Marco Silva will be without Younes Kaboul (leg), Sebastian Prodl (hamstring) and Craig Cathcart (knee) for the home meeting with Manchester City, but both Roberto Pereyra and Kiko Femenia are available.

Oliver Burke (hamstring), Nacer Chadli (knock) and James McClean (illness) are doubts for West Bromwich Albion’s home encounter with West Ham United. Gareth McAuley was handed a run-out for the reserves earlier this week but Pulis conceded he will “have to wait and see” whether the Irishman is fit enough to face the Hammers.

Marko Arnautovic is available to take on the Baggies after completing his three-match ban, but Mark Noble (knee) has been ruled out.

Finally, Wilfried Bony is set to remain on the bench for Swansea City’s trip to Wembley as he continues to build up his match fitness.

All this and more has now been updated in the Team News section ahead of this evening’s 7pm deadline. Keep an eye on our official Twitter Stream for breaking news – as the day unfolds, we will issue updates from Friday’s press conferences and refresh our Team News tab accordingly to keep you informed.

Tempting to captain Lukaku after that horror show Everton displayed yesterday.

Keep Kane, the fact you have Lukaku will mitigate the losses should he outperform Kane.

I have to choose one from: Jesus, Morata, Firmino, Salah. Don't have other players from their teams.
    Considering - price/set pieces/points to this point/nailedness/fixtures - is Firmino the best pick ??

Hard to say this week, recon there will be some surprises in the lineups concerning Firmino and Jesus at least.
Firm might be the best pick when you add in cost

He would allow me some other upgrades and along Kaku and Kane I think such a front lane can be set and forget. Jesus has tempting fixtures and Morata was impressive however imo he is overproductive now

    WC team thoughts please

    Foster
    Jones Simpson Davies
    Antonio Matic Hazard Moting
    Firmino Kane(c) Aguero

    Elliot Kolasinac Carroll Wimmer
Not sure about Matic got 0.5 in the bank.

    1. K-win

Not sure about Matic and Antonio. Think you need Lukaku

        Cheers.
Watched Antonio the other night he looked great, yeah Lukaku would be nice but fixtures are turning plus no Pogba, can see Mourinho going back to defensive mode.

        1. Lazaretti

Antonio is good pick. I would change Matic to -> Mooy/Richarlison/Brady/Richie or someone else cheap but sure starter. Matic also taking one spot from ManU, which is not problem atm but might be in future.

Would appreciate your thoughts on my WC Team folks...

    Elliott, Foster
    Kolasinac, Bavies, Jones, Moreno, Mbemba
    Eriksen, Mkhitayan, Choupo-Mouting, Groß, Carroll
    Kane, Lukaku, Firminho

Hmm yeah I may just get Mee back in then. Think Moreno will get 70% of games, but if Jones starts getting benched I have a problem.

      1. I expect Robertson to get equal/more PL play time than Moreno

      2. Mbemba will prob not play much

      3. I would stay clear of Gross, he massively overacheived last game

      1. K-win

Sweet thanks, will look into 1 and 3 then. Mbemba will be my 4.0, not much else out there is there?

3-4-3 most weeks? Then I'd balance Moreno and Mbemba to two 4.4/4.5 playing DEF to help with fixture congestion later on in the season.

Was planning on switching between 4-3-3 and 3-4-3. Maybe i'll go super cheap on my 4th mid and even it out.

Much easier to captain Morata. Surprice benching on your Jesus captain sucks

Morata for me. Well rested, nailed for league matches and chances are he will get more attempts with Haz on the pitch.

This team should average 60 points per week, predicted points per game in brackets.

    Foster/Gomes (3.5)
    Alonso (5.5), Mendy (4.5), Davies (4.5) Kolasinac (4) Femenia benched (0)
Eriksen (6) Rotating two of Brady, Choupo, Richarlison, Mooy (3.5, 3.5)
    Kane (7x2), Firmino (5.5), Vardy (5.5)

Strong argument for wing backs if you think my projections are accurate.

If you mean those coloured numbers on FPL then yes. Leicester had a lot of green at the start of last season, by Christmas they only had red left.
