Manchester City are threatening to break Fantasy Football.

An irresistible attacking force, they appear to be capable of skittling any defence that stands in their way and, in doing so, they are presenting Fantasy managers with an extraordinary array of options.

The challenge, of course, is to exploit their incredible form to the full. This becomes a more thankless task with the passing of each and every Gameweek.

Today’s 7-2 victory over a shell-shocked Stoke City took Pep Guardiola’s side to a total of 17 goals from their last three home matches and 24 from the last five Gameweeks.

I had to go back and re-check those numbers, leaving me wonder if we’ve ever seen a single team provide such a relentless avalanche of Fantasy points.

The underlying statistics are even more staggering.

A tally of 103 shots, 73 of which have arrived in the box with 28 big chances. Guardiola’s side have fired a shot every 4.6 minutes over the past five Gameweeks.

Three City players scored double figures in today’s victory, with Kevin De Bruyne and David Silva also fetching nine and seven points respectively. And this without Sergio Aguero in the mix.

Indeed, the array of choice available has become bewildering.

Raheem Sterling’s 15-points surely underlines his potential during this, his most prolific spell of his career. The “winger” has now scored six goals and supplied two assists over five starts in the last six Gameweeks.

Sterling has been in Guardiola’s starting line-up each time when available from Gameweek 3 onwards and, priced at just 8.0; he surely justifies his rank at the top of our midfield Watchlist. He is already the top transfer target ahead of Gameweek 9’s visit from Burnley.

Then there is Sane.

Perhaps a more traditional wide player, less inclined to tuck inside to flank the central striker, the German has produced four goals and three assists from the last five Gameweeks. However, he has only made the starting line-up over the last three.

De Bruyne and Silva remain the creators. Less explosive, they are nonetheless consistent points scorers that also scream for our attention. The latter struck his first goal of the season today, while De Bruyne chalked up a fifth assist.

It’s difficult to separate the pair, but Silva’s price, at 1.5 cheaper, is surely a key factor. Crucially, as today’s goal indicated, the Spaniard also appears to have upped his direct threat to opponents, adding a new convincing string to his creative bow.

These are just the standout midfield offerings. When we start to contemplate the situation up front, our decision process becomes even more cloudy.

Gabriel Jesus reacted to Sergio Aguero’s return from injury with a brace and a 13-point return today. We now have to consider how Guardiola will marry the pair.

He will surely want to avoid disrupting the almost perfect blend he has discovered, and neither Sane nor Sterling can really warrant exclusion.

Could that lead to Guardiola rotating his two central strikers, or will he revert back to pairing them in attack, sacrificing one of his support attackers?

Jesus owners will be counting today’s points but also looking ahead to the Gameweek 9 meeting with Burnley and wondering Pep’s next move.

But surely we have to question whether Jesus and Aguero warrant our investment regardless.

Even if their minutes are managed from here on, while City’s thirst for goals remains unquenchable, perhaps we just can’t lose.

Mark Mark created the beast. He's now looking to tame it.

Is wimmer likely to get dropped for the next match after being subbed at half time? I didn't get chance to watch the game or motd.

Thinking of transferring to mbemba if he starts today

    Foster - Elliott
    Davies - Jones - Hegazi - Naughton - Mbemba
    Eriksen - Mkhitaryian - Silva - Carroll - RLC
    Kane - Lukaku - Vardy

    1 x FT, 0.0m ITB

    1. Lukaku > Aguero/Jesus or Morata
    2. Mkhittaryian > Sterling/Sane or someone else
    3. Sort out GK situation

I think Foster + Hegazi is too much,
and he should deal with the defender.

          Good luck!

Just been looking at City attacking returns for their first 8 gameweeks. They have scored 28 goals (+1 own goal) and have 27 registered assists.

    Aguero - 6 Goals + 3 Assists = 9 Total
    Jesus - 6 Goals + 1 Assist = 7 Total
    De Bruyne - 1 Goal + 5 Assists = 6 Total
    D.Silva - 1 Goal + 6 Assists = 7 Total
    Sterling - 6 Goals + 2 Assists = 8 Total
    Sane - 4 Goals + 3 Assists = 7 Total

Fairly evenly distributed between the main contributors at City. Here are minutes played so far.

Aguero - 466 Minutes (4 Full Games Played)
Jesus - 475 Minutes (1 Full Games Played)
De Bruyne - 670 Minutes (6 Full Games Played)
    D.Silva - 692 Minutes (6 Full Games Played)
Sterling - 477 Minutes (4 Full Games Played)
Sane - 406 Minutes (2 Full Games Played)

Its clear De Bruyne and Silva are the most nailed of the City assets. Putting them together we get minutes between attacking returns.

    Aguero - 51.8 Minutes
    Jesus - 67.9 Minutes
    De Bruyne - 111.7 Minutes
    D.Silva - 98.9 Minutes
    Sterling - 59.6 Minutes
    Sane - 58 Minutes

Aguero looks like the asset to own for City, as he is almost getting a return every half. Sterling and Sane look great value for money but question marks remain over how nailed they are. Jesus is a worry with only one full 90 played in gameweek 7, but his attacking returns reflect the kinder price than Aguero.
Silva and De Bruyne are more nailed but are far less likely to produce. Silva has been more frequent in attacking returns, is a lot kinder budget wise and leads the way on bonus from all their mids with 8.

I currently own Jesus and Sterling but will look to get Aguero in once he is fit, De Bruyne looks great but in terms of fantasy he hasn't quite justified his price tag in my opinion.

Lukaku - flat track bully or can playing for Utd change that ?

15 goals in 57 games against the big 6 by the way, playing for Everton and WBA in only 9 winning games - not sure that is a flat track bully form at all and probably better than any player except Vardy from non top 6 teams ?

60 points after 8 games is nothing. He or she may have used a TC chip or wildcard, or simply avoided Kane (c) for the first 5 gws.
Your team looks strong, No obvious flaws. You ll win MLs with a team like that if you play a long game. No prizes for being top in November.

Lacazette would be my priority to get rid of especially with his minutes and upcoming fixtures, so him to Jesus is your only option with Sterling in midfield?

2 are nailed every week barring injuries. Stoke are awful. Pope great keeper

Is it time to take out Kane? If Morata and Kun are fit and dtart firing wouldnt it be ideal to take him off? Also given his struggling home form.

      Those are harsh odds,
L'pool are only a GKP, 2xCB, & 1x DM short of the title,
Somebody other than Klopp could & would fix that in one transfer window.

    Kane - VARDY - Joselu

    OR

    Foster - Elliott

A stronger first XI with a weaker bench.

          Aguero's the guilty one.

Alli -> Sterling look like a good use of a FT?

Seems like nothings gonna stop him at the moment.

Think this knee jerk is defo worth it with no City mids in my team.
    GroB + Doucore + ChoupoM + cash = Silva/Sterling + 4.5 + Keep one

    Which one to keep?

    My front 3 is
    Vardy, kane, lukaku

Would you sacrifice Vardy for Abraham?

Saves me 2.8 Mil to strengthen midfield probably for Sterling and Liverpool mid (maybe)

Yes Abraham looks great, could be a (much needed) bargain enabler this season.

Jesus ...may only play an hour
    Kane
    Hazard
    Silva
